ACE is the Authorised Community Expantion. basically the top rated mod on the workshop. just sort by popularity, you cant miss it!

What does "ACE" exactly mean? Any links please?

well, depending on the amount of potato/toaster you still might, but this should be a night and day difference :D

Good, I was hoping I didn't need to get a mod to remove the rain and snow
Thahat  [author] 20 Dec, 2019 @ 4:31am
what do you mean with where is it located? unsubscribing removes the mod automatically.
but even if you have both: it wont cause trouble. (you just dont need both)

So when I saw this was already included in ACE, I unsubscribed, thinking to avoid any potential and future bugs from cropping out. So my question is... Where is it located? In the menu? Or is it actively on?

fun mode: yes! like downloading more ram!
Serious mode:err no. it literally does the same as if you had one of the two.
Delta, The [REDACTED] 9 Dec, 2019 @ 9:44pm
well if i download both, then I'll have double the performance boost!!!
Thahat  [author] 16 Oct, 2019 @ 2:00pm
only if i accidentally run into dumb things honestly, i could only make this one because i found it and was like "wait, WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU RENDER RAIN AND SNOW THATS NOT EVEN VISABLE" but im still actively making things so you never know :D

Do you think youll be able to make any more performance increasing mods?
Thahat  [author] 22 Sep, 2019 @ 8:06am

If there moving there camera around quickly while both doing things and planning big build then it renders and de-renders what you can and cannot See, most likely causing slightly worse performance then normal, as this means the game has to render and de-render a good chunk of snow all at once, Though it shouldn't cause it to go lower then normal.
Thahat  [author] 21 Sep, 2019 @ 4:25am
since what this mod does is literally tell the game "stop rendereing rain and snow the player can not see at this moment" im not AT ALL sure how that could possibly LOWER performance.
Thahat  [author] 21 Sep, 2019 @ 4:24am
hmm that really is odd. you are the first ive heared of where it had a negative effect. even though you have a decent build. did you have the graphics on a high or a low setting?
Defooster 21 Sep, 2019 @ 4:11am
I tested it with the same save file with rain and got 2-3 fps lower with the mod installed. (Currently don't have ACE installed) 32 vs 35 FPS average on an endgame world. I'll keep trying it and let you know if anything changes. Also will be subbing to ace for the next playthrough

nice hearing this got in to ACE well done again this mod is really good and has helped out my game quite a bit good luck on any future mods you plan to work on.
Thahat  [author] 20 Sep, 2019 @ 10:59am
feedback moment: i got enough imput, also from the guys doing ACE that its going to be implementer there by default. so im going to leave this up for anyone that wants it who isnt using ACE, but its going to be the default for ACE users once the next patch for that hits. (seeing as only 146 people went for this mod, that should help a lot more people)

I don't have exact before and after FPS but feels smoother I was getting the occasional CTD with snow or rain. Now it's fine and haven't had any issues for several hours. Looks promising. I have mid-range hardware :cactusrum:
Thahat  [author] 20 Sep, 2019 @ 1:30am
Nice, glad to hear! if you get some rain please let me know if that improved a ton too :D
Oocam Cross 19 Sep, 2019 @ 9:50am
after some testing out I can say that this mod has fixed the issue I was running in to frames sit at a nice 60 stable for snow on towns of 24 villigers now havent tested rain yet though
Thahat  [author] 19 Sep, 2019 @ 3:48am
TLDR you have a good pc :p, does it still drop you to 20FPS though? or is it improved with this mod on?
Oocam Cross 18 Sep, 2019 @ 12:15pm

RonyoMarth 18 Sep, 2019 @ 10:48am
I don't think my hardware is the worst or best, but I feel like I can see a difference in my game with this mod! Will continue to test further. Thank you for making this :D
