looks like Heavy Infantry V swapped LI and HI numbers: it provide 400 LI 100 HI instead of 400 HI 100 LI as it should

@SD: I'm sorry I just launched the game and it is indeed at the very bottom, right after "duel lethality". I assume some other mod must be interfering with it. Launch the game with just HIP and RR2 and check it out. After that just add a couple of mods, relaunch and check over. This way you will surely find the culprit.

I just looked through the game rules again and I can't see the rule. Not sure what's going on. Also tried adding it into the save file but the game got rid of it

@SqueakyDiversity: Usually somewhere at the very bottom. The name is simply "Retinues Redone" and there are 3 options: vanillla, hip and off.

Update: Final fix for nomadic retinues. You will no longer see duplicate retinue types available for hire. Turning retinues off will still allow nomads to hire them.

To be honest I didn't play them either ahahah I was just doing a playthrough and while fighting against nomads I couldn't understand why they were weaker than usual and then I noticed their "0 troops".
I didn't know about their specific retinue usage and I've needed a good amount of 20 min to understand what was the problem ahahah

Anyway, thanks for the fix :praisesun: For now it seems working :)

Update: Fixed, entirely unintentional, crippling of nomadic nations with retinues turned off, by allowing them to hire retinue units as they are designed as nomad mechanic.

@BtH: I admit I have never in my life played as nomadic nation, even though I have HL DLC and over 1800 ingame hours. I issued a fix to nomads - please let me know if the problem you mentioned is resolved as it should be.

Too bad that disabling retinues makes Nomads to have 0 soldiers and so they're just sitting there having their ass kicked ahahahah

II really wanted to play with disabled retinues since a duke, or even an Emperor during middle ages with standing army is just super ahistorical bs.

I don't know if you'd be able to fix it, or if you even want to do so (maybe disabling nomads was your intent after all ahahah). But if you manage/want to fix it, I think permitting retinues to Imperial governments would be acceptable too :)

But, still regardless this is still a a amazing mod. Not many mods fiddle with the retinue system and for that you have my thanks.. I would admit not having Maximum retinue mod does hurt a bit but I guess I can compensate it by doing the Royal Palace spam. Keep up the good work!

@Kaiser: make sure you enable correct setting in the pregame options screen: vanilla or hip. just checked and working fine with vanilla game.

When I downloaded this map and enabled it. I never noticed anything different about the retinue system... I would assume the mod has been abandon by the author?

@Lazy Invincible General: Thank you for these comments - I checked the code a there is a bug! There is no "second_type" and "second_amount" troops and instead "first_type" and "first_amount" twice. I am checking the entire coe right now and will update it asap. Thx again! In the meantime check my "Less Holy Wars" mod...

strange, none of them should be causing problems
and it seems to be affecting all the tier 5 retinues -_- just checked your code also and it isn't at fault far as I can tell, so I'm digging around in my stuff to see if I can find it

You might need to check what you set for the heavy cavalry amount for the tier 5 cav.. I only see 230 light cav for the retinue

i'm sorry to disappoint you but this mod has no power to do such things - all feudal retinues within it are hardcoded to be 500 in size. no less and no more.

oh yes, that i can agree with - that i did. still i never said you get twice the amount of retinues and every single feudal retinue unit is twice the vanilla size - so 500. it is not possible for you to have a retinue of any other size with this mod and any other than 250 with no other retinue adjusting mod, so your 300 to 500 retinue unit without this mod did not come out of the blue.

your wrong you say you only changed the retinue size but you changed the tech military organization with your mod it maxes out at +400% retinue size without your mod it caps out at +1200% i have no other mod that affects retinues other than my amazonian mod but that only adds a retinue troop but only for the selected religion (which i was not using at the time)

each retinue unit is doubled in size (250 up to 500 per unit) but the cap used for one retinue is the same as in two vanilla game retinues (so it's still 1 to 1). i never said you get twice as many retinues overall.
furthermore this mod does nothing to buildings or any other source of "retinue points" so it neither increases nor decreases retinue cap.
i'd recommend checking other mods you use because:
troops ranging from 300-500 per retinue
is not the size of either vanilla or HIP mod retinue unit as they both stick to 250.

this mod is a joke feature says retinues DOUBLED while in games i played without this mod my retinue cap was in the 70k-100k range with troops ranging from 300-500 per retinue now with the mod my retinue cap dropped to under 10k and i even had more baronies with the retinue upgraded buildings so im getting beyond sigificantly less retinues for even more gold i have to pay dont get me wrong im fine with the increased tax but mod says doubled yet my retinue is 90% of what it was before tell me how is that doubling my retinue my retinue should be 140k-200k
