Cool mod, but why does the new answer in the dilemma GIVE resources, and not take away? In a similar mod for Bretonia, you kept the logic by adhering to the rule - "Vassalage costs less than confederation, but still costs resources." And for the Empire, for some reason you did not adhere to this rule ...
1) I have a couple of suggestions:
1.1) Replace the ability to buy a vassal for +1 Imperial Authority and +400 Prestige by -1 Imperial Authority and -1000 Prestige
1.2) Add the ability to buy a vassal for -1 Imperial Authority and -1000 gold
2) If you follow these two sentences then:
2.1) The dilemma will be symmetrical (visually) and even
2.2) The dilema will obey the rule of the reinforcement dilemma for the electors - "Pay either with money or prestige." That is, the vanilla concept will be respected.

Event " faction x attacks y" option change;

- "Do nothing" no fealthy lost , instead -1 imperial authority and faction y declares war on faction z.

Additional option for these " either -1 fealthy with faction x or y " events ;

Mediate compromise;
+ 400 prestige
-1 fealthy with BOTH factions

Additional option for when an elector declares Independence;

- Gather Loyalists ;
Random imperial faction declares war on the seccessionists instead of you,
-1 fealthy with said faction


- Option " Stop by force" could give +1 Imperial authority.

Might I suggest for the "military aid"/Intervention Event;

- Prestige/money cost swapped for mercenaries/sending troops
( Makes little sense to hire mercenaries with prestige)

- Scouting party; instead of gaining vision you have a chance for an item drop

- Do nothing; -1 imperial authority and -2 fealthy instead of just -1
(Otherwise it´s less costly to do nothing then to do something)

I would love an update to this, I actively avoid the empire specifically because I HATE having to take over cities that can be distant and not well set up and armies that I don't have the cash for and have to abandon etc etc etc...

Getting a issue where if im getting the 5% chance to increase fealty and it triggers on someone already acting as my vassal then i get asked the dilema again and no matter what i choose the campaign will be stuck with a unresolved event that i cant do anything to fix in order to continue.

Will you make continue your work? Will there be an update for SFO as well? I mean the UserInterface of the Tech-Tree?

I hope you will not let it die. The only vassal mod for the empire which is senseful :)

This mod makes The Golden Order unable to recruit it's state troops - The Eldrich Guard. Reikland works fine though. I'm pretty sad about that, cause I wanted to have a really flavourfull campaign with this mod, but what can you do. :( And I'm sure it's this mod, cause I spent like a whole day managaing my mods to find the one that is responsible.

Happy Thanksgiving! Any work with Sylvannia or Marienberg? It would be really cool to be able to vassalize Marienberg and/or gift Sylvannia lands to either a ghost faction or at least to Stirland (who technically owns Sylvannia).

Also, another suggestion: Is there any way to switch the Elector Count troop for Talabecland to the Knights of the Blazing Sun? Seeing as if you vassal them, you can't build their chapterhouse.

Hi, I really like this mod as an alternative to marking the whole map your Empire faction and instead become the head of the Empire as a group of semi independent states. I imagine there's a lot of random variables involved, but once factions have been my vassal there hasn't been hardly any political intrigues apart from the return offer to confederate every 20 turns.
Also I think that there should be a cost for vassalage the same or equivalent to confederation.
On my playthrough with this mod I have never struggled to keep my Imperial Authority above 0 (which I think is part of aim of the Authority as a way to add challenge and prevent conquering the Empire too fast)

For balance I would humbly suggest either a - 3 Imperial Authority cost or perhaps a several thousand Prestige cost 1500 > 2000, and also perhaps more regular intrigues to make it feel like a challenge to keep your vassals in line, but I realise that might just be how it worked on my game!

A vassal is not a surefire "no more politics" like a confederation. A vassaled elector is still going to be subject to the dilemmas that the new empire politics system presents you. As such, a vassal could still succeed if you are unable to stop it when the dilemma presents itself.

From what I understand of the politics systems for the Empire, regardless of fealty, a seceeded faction can only be brought back under your control through conquest.

I'm having a problem where I've vassalled a faction (Ostermark) and they've now seceded for seemingly no reason. They still have 10 fealty but it's not giving the confederation dilemma at the start of the new turns, and ofc with the new empire diplomacy you need that dilemma in order to confederate/vassal because the options are removed. Is there just a cool-down that I'm not aware of and it will fix itself soon or is them seceding from being a vassal not supposed to happen at all and its a bug?

I had a soft lock whilst running this mod but I don't know for sure if its a vanilla problem or this mod.
Basically, playing as the Empire, 2 of my elector vassals went to war and I was given the option of siding with one or the other, or doing nothing but because my reliablilty was already as low as it could go, all 3 choices were greyed out and I couldn't progress.

It should fire again. The events should not override it - the script that runs the entire system in the base game has not been touched. Although it might only occur every 20 turns? I cant remember how often that event re-appears.

It's 10 turns after vassalizing that I get the dilemma to confederate again, right? I'm a bit worried that the re-confederation event isn't firing because I'm also getting other Empire dilemmas firing off and they might be overriding the re-confedation event permanently.

Aha! I think I found the right places for you to look. Try tinkering with elector_counts_tables and elector_count_region_to_capital_region_junctions_tables, when you get a chance of course. :-)

Although when Stirland does own Eastern Sylvania, I'm still not able to recruit the Knights of Morr even though I can recruit all the other Elector troops if they're my vassals...

Thanks for the answers. Maybe a temporary workaround might be allowing the player to gift Sylvanian regions to Stirland? (In the Warhammer universe it originally did belong to them...)

Yeah, the runefang and the buffs for being an elector require confederating still. I intend to look at other benefits for vasasling electors to offset this a little. Perhaps bring over the unique ancillaries i had from my old mod.

Its particularly impressive that vassalising electors unlocks their provinces special units. That was a bit messy the way it was implemented in vanilla.

No vassal support for marienburg/ sylvania yet. Working on something but no timeline.
