I'm ngl, I thought say whipvine was in the base game since I've been using this so long.
Grafov 11 Jul @ 10:39am
Great tracks! Any chance for a 1.6?
Bishop  [author] 22 Jun @ 10:48am
Ah geez. A new update, huh? I'll do the same thing I do every update. I'll say I won't update it, and then in about a week or so I'll cave and re-download RimWorld just to make you guys happy.
femoral2 20 Jun @ 2:31pm
1.6?
Bishop  [author] 4 Jan @ 11:05am
@Justin Bieber when RimWorld launches, this mod adds 10-20 seconds to start up. Once RimWorld is loaded, this mod has no impact on performance assuming you have enough RAM on your machine.
Justin Bieber 4 Jan @ 4:12am
How does this impact game performance?
llunak 16 Dec, 2024 @ 7:45pm
I have never had a problem with the Linux version of RimWorld. In fact, I have tried out of curiosity, and the Windows version uses a bit more RAM and starts a bit slower. And I don't remember if I have ever had problems with any other game either. Might be a problem with your setup.

But, interestingly, the audio loading problem really does not exist with the Windows version, for whatever strange reason. May be the sole reason why your Linux version uses more RAM.
Bishop  [author] 16 Dec, 2024 @ 1:34pm
When I run this mod as Windows version through proton compatibility it uses way less RAM than Linux native version. Also, I just find, in general Linux native RimWorld doesn't run as well as proton. I also remember having some crashing errors with other mods due to Linux native, but I don't remember which ones.
As a Linux gamer, I almost never run games as native Linux. Everything is wine or proton.

Correction: I estimate the memory usage should be about 4GiB, not tens. So maybe the difference is just whether people do or do not have that extra memory? Swap on Unix systems usually has a fixed size, that could explain why people are more like to have a problem on Linux.
llunak 16 Dec, 2024 @ 2:11am
Note that RimWorld's audio loading from mods is very inefficient. A mod providing this amount of music presumably leads to allocating additional tens of gigabytes of memory and also increases load time significantly. See https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3385243195 (a mod fixing this).

@Bishop: You probably want to mention that in the mod description.

Also, I'm on Linux. I see in the comments mentions that the memory usage problem might not exist on Windows, although I don't see why it should work differently there (maybe WIndows hides the problem by increasing the pagefile size to accomodate all this?). On Linux I can clearly see memory usage go up from 1.5GiB to 3.5GiB when using P-Music (and I do not dare with this mod). Even if Windows handles it somehow, there still might be the usage with load times (my mod description includes a link to how to find out).
Bishop  [author] 23 Nov, 2024 @ 12:44pm
Glad you enjoy!
ReedGuardian 23 Nov, 2024 @ 10:14am
wow, must takes weeks to colect all the good songs, take my points ;)
Lucifer 19 Oct, 2024 @ 2:12am
Okay I don't get it anymore, It likely was me putting the mod in with wrong load order.
Lucifer 17 Oct, 2024 @ 11:45pm
Windows, I had a mod called "No vannila music" so it would only play these songs I believe, I switched to beholder music with that mod and it works fine. If I don't forget I'll try again today and post error (my hugslib log might be massive and hard to understand where this mod gives errors as not all the mods I have are 100% working)
Bishop  [author] 21 Sep, 2024 @ 8:39am
Are you playing on Windows? Also, is this the only music mod you have running? This is a very basic mod. It doesn't change any of the game's behaviour, it only adds new SongDefs to the existing library. In the 5 years since I published this mod, I haven't heard of this issue before. This mod only works if downloaded from the steam workshop.
If you downloaded the github version from the license page, it will not work (no music files are in the repository, only XML)
Lucifer 20 Sep, 2024 @ 10:05am
I am encountering an issue where it fails to play the music (Error message) and startup log is full of Warnings.
TenteY 18 Jul, 2024 @ 11:56am
idk why but after i enable this mod, the game just crash on loading :steamfacepalm:
it'sjust a music mod. what can it break?!?
Sluipneger 18 Jun, 2024 @ 2:58pm
@Generator's Queen, same, this mod consumes all available RAM (on Ubuntu 22.04 & 20.04).
Winston Hollow 2 Jun, 2024 @ 9:54pm
LOL, this simple music mod takes up 7GB RAM on MacOS (m-series). Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm afraid I'll have to listen to the standard RimWorld soundtrack for the rest of my life :(
Progeria Pete 20 Apr, 2024 @ 9:34am
Thanks for the update!
20 Apr, 2024 @ 6:27am
thank you sir
RimWorldist 19 Apr, 2024 @ 10:47pm
Thank you for the update! Absolutely love this mod
Bishop  [author] 19 Apr, 2024 @ 9:24pm
The mod has been updated to 1.5. May your RimWorlding experience be 1.5% more enjoyable. See you butts in a year.
femoral2 19 Apr, 2024 @ 8:17am
@C3ncio, thank you!. It is that simple. Although I think more people would enjoy this music if the change was made by OP
C3ncio 19 Apr, 2024 @ 5:59am
The mod should work anyway but if your rimworld refuse to load this awesome music for some reason, all you have to do is:
-Go to main menu->mods
-select this mod and than click the advanced button on the right
-select open folder
-open "About" folder
-right click the file "About.xml" and select "open with notepad"
-under the line "<supportedVersions>" simply add " <li>1.5</li>". Spaces are needed.
-Rimworld will now 100% load the best music mod in the workshop, have fun!
Bishop  [author] 18 Apr, 2024 @ 4:11pm
Hi everyone. Unless Tynan dramatically changes how RimWorld is built, this mod will work forever. This mod simply adds music to the in-game library of songs. I know the warning that you have an out of date mod can be annoying, but I promise it will work.
Unfortunately, the process of updating the mod is pretty heavy considering I don't keep rimworld installed anymore. I'm glad so many people enjoy this mod, but I don't have time to maintain it anymore. Please keep using it and having fun!
Mikara 11 Apr, 2024 @ 1:16pm
@Strain , I 100 percent believe this will work no mater what version its on.
Strain 6 Apr, 2024 @ 6:59am
pls 1.5
Petty Officer Egg 19 Mar, 2024 @ 9:32pm
I used this with SOS2 and now I cannot get the thought of a ship v ship battle when using this
eastpaw 4 Jan, 2024 @ 3:56pm
Lots of guitar screeching on Dreaming Days and some screeching on a few other tracks. Will have to unsubscribe.
Axelerator 20 Dec, 2023 @ 8:31pm
@HKO2006 you can use the music manager mod to see and listen to all the music installed in your rimworld game
MichalPl111 31 Aug, 2023 @ 7:08pm
raid shal use more musics and a hevy metal version
HKO2006 (no mic) 24 Aug, 2023 @ 10:58pm
Is there a full list so I can search for them?
Eddy63 10 Jun, 2023 @ 3:30am
Dude that selection fits so well, it could be straight out of vanilla
HAZRAD 19 Apr, 2023 @ 12:10pm
Thank you for this!
qc 5 Apr, 2023 @ 11:29am
@SHRoronoaZoro it doesn't replace any music
SHRoronoaZoro 5 Apr, 2023 @ 10:51am
Does this mod replace other music, or is it essentially shuffled in with the rest?
Rips 4 Apr, 2023 @ 11:44am
Absolutely amazing. So good and fits so well you forget it's not part of vanilla. All the music is good with some being absolute bangers and some hauntingly beautiful.
Arkveld 25 Mar, 2023 @ 1:14pm
yep
ziplock9000 21 Mar, 2023 @ 8:26am
Does this work with other music mods like P-Music?
japsterise 26 Feb, 2023 @ 12:00am
just a very nice mod
reallyhairydave 22 Feb, 2023 @ 3:34am
Just released a track I've been looking for was from this rather than the base game and that alone should tell you how seamlessly it's integrated and how good the tracks are
0o0o0o-Pearl-o0o0o0 2 Feb, 2023 @ 8:58am
thx very beautiful
csfireworks 1 Dec, 2022 @ 1:17am
nice
qc 13 Nov, 2022 @ 2:52am
Thanks @Thetaprime, now my RimPy has far less warnings!
Thetaprime 9 Nov, 2022 @ 8:01am
Oh and remove '_copy' from the line:

<packageId>bishop.music_copy</packageId>

Save.
Thetaprime 9 Nov, 2022 @ 7:59am
I suggest using RimPy for your modlist people. In Rimpy, select the mod>open folder>find the about.xml, add <li>1.4</li> inline with the other versions, save the file and voila! updated.
MrSpacePenguin 3 Nov, 2022 @ 2:31am
I love this music mod but I also hate seeing warning box in my mod list... damn it my dude
VolatileGlitchAviator 2 Nov, 2022 @ 7:44am
can you fix the _copy for it? its annoying -___-
