Thanx. Still works in v3.3.5.1. (You do have to enable the Mod first time when starting up the game)

it seems that it is Patrum Scuta which is not compatible with renaming. Too bad. I keep renaming, and I drop those superb shields.
Mounir-Philippe 31 Dec, 2022 @ 4:33am
Thanks Oof for the answer. I'll try to make it work with Charlemagne DLC only.
Gandalf the Black  [author] 30 Dec, 2022 @ 4:11am
@Mounir-Philippe That's very strange, because I've never used it with CK2+. Maybe you have other mods which are causing conflict with it?
Gandalf the Black  [author] 30 Dec, 2022 @ 4:10am
@Tenebrosful Unfortunately I don't think there's a way around it. It's a bit of hacky mod and as far as I'm aware there's no way for me to change the text in the menu without affecting other things. But it should be fine when you begin typing.
Mounir-Philippe 29 Dec, 2022 @ 1:56am
it works only with CK2+, not with vanilla game. Is it normal?
Tenebrosful 27 Dec, 2022 @ 8:55pm
Idk if it's a conflit with other mods but when open the rename menu, the adjective input show "UI MISSING TEXT" until ou change it before displaying the right text (My game is in french)
kennedyelijah87 20 Dec, 2022 @ 8:25pm
how can i use it?
:steamhappy: :raganvad:

Carl XVI Gustaf's Loyal Subject 24 Apr, 2021 @ 4:07am
Dosen't work :(
Gandalf the Black  [author] 31 Oct, 2020 @ 8:05am
@Coolzero319 The adjective field is for your title's adjective (e.g. France's adjective is "French", England's adjective is "English" etc.)
Coolzero319 30 Oct, 2020 @ 9:44pm
Hi there, I used this mod and it worked as intended. Though i would like to ask, What is the adjective field for? (and yes, i also encountered/fixed the "UI Text Missing" thing)
Gandalf the Black  [author] 21 Jun, 2020 @ 12:54pm
@lmfao No, there's no way to rename a holder's title. A potential workaround would be this:
- take a decision to rename your title which lets you pick from a set list of alternate titles
- a copy of your primary title is made, using your chosen title
- the original title is destroyed

It is a very cumbersome method, but it could be done. However, there is no way to write a custom title at run time. It would have to be a set list. I don't plan to add this to the mod, since I'm working on Beginning of the End [forum.paradoxplaza.com] at the moment, but if you have modding experience, you might want to try it.
lmfao 21 Jun, 2020 @ 10:54am
can you rename the holder's title so instead of being "Duke of" he's "Margrave of"?
Gandalf the Black  [author] 7 Jun, 2020 @ 8:02am
@jamesmoran321 Unfortunately, the only things that can have their names changed are characters, titles, provinces, artifacts, bloodlines, wonders and upgrades.
jamesmoran321 6 Jun, 2020 @ 4:43pm
could you make a mod where you rename a religion
Gandalf the Black  [author] 4 Jun, 2020 @ 9:34am
@Phantom_Darkus Sadly not, since it changes the checksum.
Phantom_Darkus 4 Jun, 2020 @ 5:13am
Is this mod achievement friendly?
JohnMems 11 May, 2020 @ 1:27am
It would be nice to be able to rename anyones titles for an enhanced immersive experience, so when William the Conqueror takes the english throne, then we can automatically rename it to "Angleterre" (French name Ik, closest to what they called it), or Denmark being renamed to "Danmark", and so on
lmfao 7 Apr, 2020 @ 11:08am
I thought as much
Gandalf the Black  [author] 7 Apr, 2020 @ 10:52am
@lmfao Yes. I thought it would be a bit strange if you were able to rename anyone's titles
lmfao 7 Apr, 2020 @ 7:53am
Does this only work on titles you own directly?
Joe 31 Mar, 2020 @ 4:55pm
Ahhh i see, thanks alot, i also found another way around it, just leaving the top bit blank, naming the bottom UI missing thing, pressing OK, then going back and changing the top title changes both haha. Cheers!
Gandalf the Black  [author] 31 Mar, 2020 @ 2:16am
@DocJethro That's because some cultures use the name of the dynasty for their primary title. You can still change its real name, but you can only see it in the name given when you click on the title flag. For example, clicking on the Umayyad flag will say at the top "Umayyad Empire [Hispania]" or something along those lines. The mod changes the [Hispania] bit. If you want to see the name change, you'll have to disable titles taking names after dynasties, which is a game rule.
Joe 30 Mar, 2020 @ 5:33pm
When i try to rename my Umayyad thing, and the UI Text thing is there, i start typing and change it, press accept, but it doesnt actually change it, its still Umayyad, no idea why.
『Ian the Oddball』 14 Feb, 2020 @ 2:52pm
"send help" lmao
Gandalf the Black  [author] 26 Jan, 2020 @ 11:21am
@Mitachi Sadly I don't think that's possible. The command used by this mod can be used for renaming characters, provinces, titles, artifacts and bloodlines
Mita [FR] 25 Jan, 2020 @ 11:30am
I want to ask if one day you will make a mod that can change the Dynasty name ? 'Cause actually you can't do it in the game and that's sad...
Gandalf the Black  [author] 28 Nov, 2019 @ 12:35pm
@Srg. Phlogman You just need to right-click the shield of the title you want to rename and select the decision to rename. (You can only rename titles which you own)
mythbustsmut official page 28 Nov, 2019 @ 12:01pm
I am sorry for asking such a dumb question, but how to rename titles with this mod?
Perhana 20 Nov, 2019 @ 12:08pm
Thank you!
I thought I had to buy shitty india DLC to do this stuff
Gandalf the Black  [author] 16 Oct, 2019 @ 11:36am
@epic gamer Sadly not.
Mr. Mundy 16 Oct, 2019 @ 11:11am
is it ironman compatibable?
Kamikaze 9 Oct, 2019 @ 3:03am
Finite. Thx ! :steamhappy:
Gandalf the Black  [author] 3 Oct, 2019 @ 1:42am
@SIO That is something I was considering. I will definitely look into that!
SIO 2 Oct, 2019 @ 5:46pm
it would be really awesome if you could enable a feature that lets us rename what the person holding a title is called. so instead of "emperor" we could be "God-Emperor" or something like that.
Dragatus 29 Sep, 2019 @ 5:24am
Ruler Designer only allows making a custom starting character. The DLC that handles renaming is the Customization Pack. That one also gives you access to the 'barber shop' and allows you to edit the coat of arms of your dynasty if you are considered to be the leader of the dynasty.

This mod is fine. It's for people who don't have the DLC and just want one of it's features. It's also an original work, even if it has the same ultimate effect as DLC renaming, so it doesn't really unlock the DLC feature. And being a mod it blocks you from getting achievements, so people still have a reason to buy the DLC because then they could rename titles also in ironman games.
Osariusz 28 Sep, 2019 @ 11:48pm
Customization Pack is for naming stuff, not only Kingdoms i guess
Gandalf the Black  [author] 28 Sep, 2019 @ 2:42pm
@CinnamonGamer I believe that you can rename titles if you have the ruler designer DLC. However, this was all scripted by myself, so I don't think there are any issues with it. So yeah, there's no point getting this if you have the Ruler Designer DLC.
Cinnamon 28 Sep, 2019 @ 11:51am
Isn't this literally a DLC feature?
Redaktof 28 Sep, 2019 @ 7:40am
I love you just for the last screenshot.
Bored_EM 28 Sep, 2019 @ 5:14am
Nice. No DLC needed.
Nosferatu 27 Sep, 2019 @ 10:12am
The last screenshot might earn you the nobel prize.

Just genius
