Ancient Knowledge trait for a frozen dupe should factor in some way with this mod. Unfrozen, their cycle age is set as something random. Have one thawed out dupe whose age is now ~2000 cycles, well past their set expiry date so their modified trait stats are now dogwater - practically stuck at zero, making them useless and worth dunking in lava. Could attempt to vacillate them in an attempt to role the immortal trait, although again, seriously wish this mod gave some consideration for unfrozen dupes.

Why do the default values not match the steam description values? ie Default value for max lifespan is 1000 cycles, but the mod description says 200 cycles.

An idea "dupes retire" could author or someone else make a mod that can retire old dupes please. want to replace the old dupes with new dupes, and don't want just simply make the old dupes dies.

from a game design view.. this isnt useful, since the immortality of dupes counterbalanced every other possibility theyy could die (which is kinda an omnipresent feature of the game).

they don't use it cause it removes a lot of features like the other useful traits from neural vaccilator

nice mod but its getting boring to get rid of all other mods i would appriciate and give a like if you manage to mod all the other traits rather than locking into immortal trait only

I love this mod, I've turned down the lifespan to make the game a bit more challenging. However, using the Neuro Vacilitator with this mod active only allows for the Immortal trait to be awarded. Any subsequent uses give the message saying that all traits have been applied and that you can't improve upon perfection. This locks out the vanilla traits. The workaround is to disable the mod and apply the other traits. I'm sorry, I'm posting here, I'm not familiar with Github.

Afternoon All, spent some time away from my hiatus today to fix some issues.

- Immortal trait should properly register and effect duplicants.
- Burying dead duplicants no longer throws an error.
- Dead duplicants no longer crash game on reload.

Furthermore to reiterate, I have comments turned off (mostly to avoid spam & hate form something i consider a passion project). Please remember I am a person that lives a normal life and sadly I don't always have the time/patience to fix things. This is especially true with rudeness. So please submit a polite bug report on my github (linked above).

Firstly thank you for updating your mods for the automation update! But something is not right with this mod. It seems that whenever a dupe that died due to old age gets buried all Dupes will freeze and a game reload is required to get them going again. Example:

They are duplicants that look already adult on print, not native humans that are born baby. With a bit of imagination it's totally possible to think these "clones" are imperfect and have a limited durability not related to their natural counterpart. Any age cycle is "realistically possible" with the correct bit of lore around it, even short ones like 200 cycles really.

Just make the "time to die" probablility give them a chance to live till 400 cycles if you really want to have such a strong bound as to give them a birtday...But it's never a good idea to get attached to those "I'll try every stupid things that can kill me" dupes. xD

Immortal for the three "founders" (starter dupes) is also an interesting variation. This makes losing them by accident much more impactful...

@Structuralism They are not an alien species. The asteroid you play on is actually a bit of the Earth blown off by an experiment . They are not reminiscent of any species we have in our real life earth, but they are a species on ONI's earth.

Wait, wait a minute...

So, you telling me... your stating in this mod... that dupes shouldn't even get to celebrate their birthday!?
(Yes, I know it's a mod and customizable... but 200 days default!?)
The achievement 'One Year, to be Exact' is 365.2 cycles!
Your giving them a little more then a dragonfly at this rate!

This needs a BIT of balancing;
Drecko's (The longest lived Species in ONI I know) live to about 150 cycles, they also give wool and are reminiscent of sheep.
A sheep lives about 10 - 12 years, but their Gestation period is 152 days.
Human gestation is 280 days, almost double that time.
Humans live about 6X as long, I'd wanna extend that by a large margin.
800 cycles would be where I'd make the default, gives a good amount of time for a dupes life and at least 2 birthdays. (Still So Sad Though.)

Reason I bring this up is some might not be able to make changes themselves; Don't know/feel confident how or not allowed to install editing software like Notepad++ etc.

Nevermind my suggestion I misread the description. Also all my dupes died at the same time so I'm skeptical whether or not Maximum Age works. I'll post a bug repport if anything weird happens and they all die at exactly the same age (180 at the moment)

I found two errors.
1. immortal trait don't work. That dupe is dead on aging. Status also decreased with age.
2. Crash will occur when buried dead Dupe in grave.

@Vark it does work with already existing colonies, just be wary of your age cut offs to not instantly kill all your duplicants.

@Mahskie you don't need more ways to produce dupes, as printing pod is very often (relevant to the dupes life stages). Like you have more than enough access to duplicants and it's customisable to reflect that.

@Mahskie I guess one way a mod could do that, is to add some sort of "Space Port" which you can build in the mid-game (and are until then locked to 3 Dupes, or maybe increase starting dupes to 4), which will then bring by new duplicants with a Ship once every 10 cycles? I guess that idea could be refined but I am sure the idea itself is great. I already have the plan for the mod layed out, just wish I could code a mod like that. If any modder is interested in the full plan of my mod, just message me :D
