@Tyo Atrosa the "Core Replacement: Engineer" system upgrade in Xavorion has that functionality, in addition to letting you build advanced blocks n stuff as if you have a shipyard in the sector, though that is kind of a massive mod

would be interesting to make a ship module that would allow any ship to function as an equipment dock, like how the mobile equipment vendors work, minus the shop screen. that way, I could build a capitol ship that can operate as a mobile base of operations, allowing for mobile repairs and refits of my fleet with out having to found a new shipyard, repair dock, and equipment dock every time.

you could give each module a minimum amount of ship infrastructure to actually work, that way the ships would need to be specialized in their construction... high energy requirements per module, high cargo capacity, and a high amount of production capability for each one before it would function.

This is how it already works without mods... You can remove permanently installed mods when docked at an Equipment Dock in the base game, this mod just expands that to also work at shipyards and repair docks.

@TheDeadlyShoe, just curious if you plan on updating the modinfo for v1.0, just so it doesn't show as red in the mod list anymore?

@Shrooms, I've tested it as well and I haven't needed to be within docking range of the stations for it to work. As for removal, based on my play, that's how it normally works, too. It's only when doing a perma install or attempting to uninstall unsafely that it gives the confirmation dialog. I'm playing on the experimental 0.30 branch.

Well, it's working - you have to be docked (green square) and then use the standard system view to remove the module. It will not ask you as it usually does - "are you sure?". It will just remove the module and put it back into your inventory.

It'd be nice if that info was in the description. :steamfacepalm:

Not working. There's no additional menu or tab to do this in any shipyard or repair dock :(
