Mission worked out well, that IR scope is sick when you know how to use it... A bit too hard with bcombat on but I asked for it!

Good mission. The ambush at the start felt like a real ambush with a lot of enemies and the massive amount of bullets flying overhead. I would suggest that you have the player take a different root to the town and LZ. It does seem relastic to march along the road after an ambush. Besides that, had a lot of fun.

That is really weird. Once you've found the windmills and talked to the guys at the crossroads again you just need to walk back to the truc at the back. Before you get there the front and rear vehicle should explode, everybody should dismount and take up defensive positions.
Do you have any mods running maybe?

i cant climb back in the truck after looking for windmills i spoke to the guys first as well. any ideas?

That's weird... I never heard that one before. I've got some other new missions though. Working on a 10th now, just waiting for some voice-acting to come in. I particularly like "The Dawn Brings Hope", maybe you'd like to check that one out? I'd be interested to see how other people play that.

Great atmosphere. But with the current Ai it is a complete mess.
I see what you have done here: Ai has built in FLIR in their eyes, so you gave the player an IR optic. But as it is mantioned it is nearly useless in CQB.
The strange thing: on the back of the scope there is a ZOOM sign near the big button. So it is supposed to have adjustable zoom. Maybe BIS made some balancing here?
I have hard time to spot enemies so I cant take off more than two or three enemies and I find my whole squad massacred in minutes.
Maybe this situation is too much for the current Arma3...

That's what I meant by picking up the RCO, that's the main combat sight NATO seems to have, I just switched it out for the thermal on mine.

Yup thermal sight definitely has it's drawbacks. An enormous loss of situational awareness being the foremost. You don't need to pick up another weapon though, you can simply take the scope off the weapon in the inventory screen and continue playing with the ironsights.
Scopes aren't really needed at the distance with all this fog :)

Fun mission, found the thermal sight useless however and ended up swaping it for a downed teammates RCO. Other than that, awesome job.

Tried the mission twice. Both times the enemy ambush started immediately, which looked really weird in combination with those several starting tasks (go look for the windmills casually). After the attack I blew up the remaining trucks but the task wasn't marked as completed and I got stuck. I love the voiceacting and the overall idea but the mission has some crucial technical problems.

Yeah I was afraid of something like that too, so that's why I added a special scope to the player's weapon that can see heat signatures through the fog too (unless they are hidden by trees).

Nice fogy mission, and i like the voise overs and music that you can hear from the vehicles, those kind of things make game feal more realistic... but like allways whit this kind of missions it sometimes feal that npc can see and shoot you trught the fog when you cant eaven see them yet.

Seems like a nice scenario, but I cannot advance after blowing up the three trucks. It won't let my complete the task (I've tried setting it as my current task)

Updated the mission. For now the mission should simply end once you reach the pick-up area, instead of when you get into the helicopter.

I tried to play today. I mustered up all the patience I had and actually swam out to the helicopter. The damn think never picked us up. Swimming around 2 kilometers off shore. Pretty good mission all around until the end.

Good mission. Nice to get away from all the Specop missions out there. Only issues I had where that the extraction chopper never came to the LZ and after some of the voice over parts my charactor would move in one direction without any input for about 30-45 sec.

Too much walking for me and when we reached the extract point the squad leader ordered us to get it, so, the helo stopped ane we had a 2.5klm swim. Needless to say I quit out of the game. Not a good idea to let AI lead the squad.

Davo, right after talking to the 2 soldiers that ordered me to walk down the road to look for the windmill, my character started walking without me touching the keyboard. I tried toggling him to stop, or to run, or crouch, or do anything else, but he would only walk in the direction of the windmill for about 15-20m.

Loved hearing my voice, man! I don't know what Holliday is talking about, the game never forced me to do anything or turn in any direction or walk or whatever. Cheers, mate!

Decent mission, but there are a few flaws. Voice acting is a nice touch, but for me it wasn't very consistent...some voices would sound normal, and some would be VERY loud. Also didn't like the forced behavior when the convoy stopped (i.e. forcing me to walk, forcing my character to turn certain directions, forcing me into tactical mode, etc).

The helicopter was nowhere in sight at the end. The squad leader kept ordering everybody to board the chopper, resulting in a waypoint which was 21.9 km away. I had to quit the mission with everybody standing around saying "negative", "can not comply", etc at the board order from the leader. Maybe there are enemies remaining that shoot at the chopper & force it away...you can set his waypoint to "careless" to avoid that if that is the issue.

@Frank, the music wasn't there to create tension, rather the atmosphere of soldiers listening to their favourite music while waiting for the convoy to move again. As you might have noticed, the music originates from the vehicles, and isn't 'general music'.

@[DH]Sthephan, the songs are actually listed in the briefing, but they are 'Angel with the scabbed wings' by Marilyn Manson, 'Simple man' by Lynyrd Skynyrd and 'Yes it's fucking political!' by Skunk Anansie.

As for troubles with the helicopter, this is strange to me... It should come after the player passes through a certain trigger area (which is IMPOSSIBLE to miss, as it spans at least a kilometer left and right of the road to the end), and when it goes close I put in commands to make it land at an invisible helipad at the extraction zone, which it does for me in this scenario and another test scenario I made specifically to test it's settings...
So strange.

Had same problem at end with chopper. Think in the editor it will be one of the settings for the chopper as at the moment it just hovers over sea. Good mission never the less

I liked the intro dialogs, but the music was VERY out of place. It just didn't fit. I was expecting tension music, not rock music.
Second, after apparently killing all the enemies nothing more happened. My squad leader said "area clear" then nothing happened after that.

Interesting... The trigger is very clear. Once all 4 trucks have exploded it should simply move on. Did you go back to the crossroads?

When leader told me to blew up rest of the trucks, I did and then nothing happens, every truck is burning i even took PCML and shot them again but nothing. My squad just stands there and team leader looks at me angry.
