Thank you for the compliments on the character, it was a blast trying to make it. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, and I'll continue to think about potentially replacing dspecial for something else.
The main reason I took something from Elemental Battlegrounds was because I was thinking, "What games on Roblox are popular from unique fighting mechanics?" Granted this was very early in the process. The original plan was for half of the moves to be references to specific games, like Loomian Legacy (dropped because too new), Phantom Forces (it's just guns), Black Magic II (not very "roblox" like), and Jailbreak (Handcuffs?). Overtime the only thing left was Elemental Battlegrounds, because magic was a big part of many roblox games that wasn't just based on another franchise.
The only complaint I have about the character is the down special. While every other move references a common Roblox genre, an Elemental Battlegrounds reference feels really out of place since it's just so specific. I can't think of a replacement that'd be more generic/broad of a reference that'd be easy to code (The only one that comes to mind would be having the down special spawn some sort of zombie NPC since there's always been tons of those.)
The character is a lot of fun to play, but it feels like the perfect love letter to someone who grew up playing Roblox.
The floatyness is based on the gravity coil, which is the most popular way of jumping around on Roblox and makes gravity ridiculously light. It's why he holds one when he jumps.
The speed of Roblox noob is subject to change, though. He moves extremely fast, and the momentum is carried into the air.
