can you point me in the direction of a good lunar miner?

Technically yes, practically no. The thrusters are just too weak. I'd probably go for a hydro powered ship on the moon, ion thrusters are just too weak for that in general.

does this work on the moon?

This is beyond cool, i hadn't messed with PAM before I checked this out. As always your design is, in my eyes, perfect. This ship is fun to use and fun to look at.

Oh wow, that'd be great! And maybe a starter ship for exiting earths atmosphere! I love your designs!
Major Jon  [author] 13 Oct, 2019 @ 11:11am
I'm already working on one ;)

This is super cool! Any chance you might do a atmospheric miner for early game earth gameplay? Love the design!

Nicely done

Such a pretty little miner!

You know that there's something wrong with the PCU system when a dinky little miner like this one consumes almost as much as the limit for the station design competition.

Thanks for the honest feedback, I've already updated it and it works a lot better with PAM now.
It's also slightly longer, has 50 more blocks etc etc. For anyone wondering how it looked like before the update, the last screenshot is from the old version.

A nice design! An interesting take on the 'light miner' if possibly too busy for some.

Unfortunately, it needs a redesign. The cockpit needs configuring and it needs a sensor for PAM. It could probably also use two more sorter/ejector stacks. A more serious problem is that the belly sticks out below the drills' area of effect. During straight drilling the belly rubs against the hole wall and PAM stops, reporting that it is blocked. The drills would need to be moved down a block to solve this.

Keep up the good work! I for one would be interested to see your take on the TT-15 transatmospheric light freighter.
