Thanks for the response. I appreciate the explanation and the feedback. I didn't know you intended this as a player based ship; that actually explains a fair amount. I'm also unfamiliar with the editor, so thank you for explaining the mechanics.
I was using this with a buddy, and we were supplementing our crew with AI. We were having issues with getting them to use the periscopes, as some of them were on the bridge and they weren't able to reach them.
The explanation of the stairwells makes sense as well.
Cheers to you, I look forward to seeing what else you put out!
I prefer stairwells over ladders for how fast you can traverse between floors using said stairs, instead of ladders.
Sadly, I cannot change how the AI acts on the submarine. The sub editor lacks tools for fine-tuning the AI's behaviour on buttons and items.
I designed the submarine with a player-only mindset, so I'd expect you to play this with a group, and not solo. I don't see how the gun emplacements are awkward? Do you suggest that I'd move the periscopes somewhere else, or move the exterior railguns around?
Ship reminds me of a Star Wars Nebulon B class Frigate.
Pros:
I like having the separate bridge via tram.
I like the compartmentalization of the ship.
I like the private quarters on the bridge with the armory.
Cons:
I dislike the gun emplacements, it just feels awkward.
The massive stairwell is a killer. Being able to fall through it has resulted in injured members.
I notice AI crew tend to get stuck in various doorways such as the top airlock or lower segment by the shuttle.
Also I don't think the AI seems able to ride the tram if I'm not mistaken?
