use the action groups to stage. not the actual stage button. the engines gimbal to new positions at each stage of flight but you need to trigger without action groups

I'm very happy with the reception my shuttles have got

In the future m going to apply the systems I use to more exotic designs and maybe work on getting a replica of STS using only stock parts. That shuttle will need to meet my standards of control and practicality so it may not be possible. Servos are integral to my designs.

More shuttles in some form will be coming

I'm Woking on a stock only interplanetary cargo shuttle. Both the booster and the "orbiter" are ssto spaceplanes that can fly back to the space center on jets. The booster shuttle will deliver the interplanetary shuttle to a transfer orbit, fully fuelled. then fly back to base.

I started my shuttle program a year ago, this shuttle was started 2 weeks ago and is a complete redesign of my Atlantis shuttle. I was waiting until the 1.8 patch came out before releasing so it could use the new boosters.
