@Mattvogel I have the same issue and it most definitely persists even with tiles I own.
mattvogel 23 Jan, 2024 @ 12:04pm
@Vice_Versa that only shows up in unowned tiles, and in the editor, you don't own tiles. I just use 81 tiles whenever I'm playing
Vice_Versa 1 Oct, 2023 @ 8:29am
When I place the river sections they have ugly lines running down each side, but i don't see these in your screenshots. Do you know what could be causing this ?
Erke 30 Apr, 2022 @ 4:06pm
@snaek I do use LSM, good to know that about this mod and it's textures. Thank you.

Hey Macwelshman, thank you so much for responding. I watched the videos and heard you speaking. I admire the ambition you guys put on this project, especially with realism in mind ....

And they look georgous I must say. But as I said, I was hoping for a bare/plain 12m stream. Without rocks and textures. I'm afraid the collection doesn't have one right?

If that's the case my humble request still remains =(
Besides, I haven't tried to load the game with the mod installed but if it loads without any performance or time impact I'd keep'em all anyways =D

I will keep your suggestion in mind as a last resort though... I might come back for a guidance on which exact files and folders to copy, say if I wanted only the smallest 12m river...
Have a great day and thank you again.
Macwelshman  [author] 30 Apr, 2022 @ 3:40pm
@Erke Once you've worked out which rivers you want to use you could copy just those into your 'Assets' folder and unsubscribe from the rivers.
snaek 30 Apr, 2022 @ 2:01pm
@Erke Keep it mind that all the rivers share textures, so the load of all of them isn't much more than just a single one, and it's going to be far below the listed ~80mb because of that if you're using the Loading Screen Mod. And if you're not using it, it's about time you do. It's such a big help :-)
Erke 30 Apr, 2022 @ 10:12am
OMG 81.900 MB!
I have been looking for narrow canals to create "streams/rivers" for ages.
Although I was hoping to find a 8m wide, I believe I can live with 12m as well...
But I'm already heavy on my modlist and assets...I really don't think my save could handle 80 more megabytes... Also, I only like to have the 12m stream version, with no rocks, bushes trees around it. I'll be using surface painter to paint pavement around it to create small canals...

So my question is, is there seperate version to download just that, or can I delete somefiles to only have 12m left etc?

If not, would you please please consider making a plain 12m (preferably 8m) single river download?

Update: found the problem.

"MissingMethodException: Dunno what to do with TransportInfo(Did you forget to add this type to ReadUnityType()?)"

failed to load for me :(

Hello there !

thanks a lot for these awosome rivers packs !!

Just one question : when placing the river, the border texture doesn't with the map theme I have. I assumed I don't have the right map theme, but after a few research, I don't found "Rocky mountain" or "Green valley" themes ? What I am missing ?
gamophyte 19 Jan, 2021 @ 9:39am
Even after unsub, then making new saves, those new saves still show fail to load for this asset. If it weren't for loading screen mod this would break people's saves. Please fix, so I can resub and not have issues. Thanks!
StrukiTru 9 Jan, 2021 @ 1:45pm
Yep, seems to be broken
Panda 28 Nov, 2020 @ 7:27pm
Doesn't seem to work for me, just keeps failing even after I unsub and resub.
Liquighost 23 Oct, 2020 @ 2:02am
all the assets fail to load pls fix
wirelesshacker 2 Sep, 2020 @ 6:24pm
Not working for me... anybody else has this issue?
iinverse 26 May, 2020 @ 10:09pm
Incredibly great tool to create custom mountain river!
Grantropolis 22 Feb, 2020 @ 2:11pm
A game changer for my city. These are attractive and have saved me countless hours of terraforming. Thank you thank you thank you.
Macwelshman  [author] 5 Feb, 2020 @ 5:05am
@mareo.spb.321 This and the 'Green Valley' packs don't but the 'Wide Plane' and 'City River' packs do.
mareo.spb.321 4 Feb, 2020 @ 4:24am
do rivers support river ferry routes?
Macwelshman  [author] 23 Jan, 2020 @ 6:08pm
@PersianKnight My advice is to unsubscribe, quit CS, resubscribe and start CS.
G0KU 23 Jan, 2020 @ 5:24pm
Macwelshman thank you for the awesome asset creations. i am not sure why but these packs don't load for me? I have the loader asset and it says that their missing although i did subscribe to all of its affiliated assets.
Perry7484 / Briantin de Montrei 6 Jan, 2020 @ 10:33am
The attempt resulted in weirdness, which I kind of expected after playing with roads yesterday and winding up with similar. :P Thank you for the suggestion, and good work on the mod!
Macwelshman  [author] 6 Jan, 2020 @ 2:43am
@Perry7484 (El Rey de los Libros) Without flattening terrain the water flow would not be anywhere near as good as it is. Although I won't be creating a version of this you could always open the river up in the road editor and uncheck 'Flattening' from the properties, save it and try it.
Perry7484 / Briantin de Montrei 5 Jan, 2020 @ 4:09pm
Is it possible to make a version of this that doesn't flatten the terrain around it? I'm working with a heightmap with deep gulches and can't get the streams to go that far up w/o changing the topography too much.
a swedish boy 21 Nov, 2019 @ 5:09pm
@Macwelshman Awesome. Thanks for the tip. Will check it out. :steamhappy: This seem like a good time-saving-asset. Terraforming and plopping river bed stones yourself is not so fun.
Macwelshman  [author] 21 Nov, 2019 @ 8:00am
@a Swedish boy This is all down to the 'Ruined' texture in the theme that you are using. If you subscribe to the excellent Theme Mixer 2 then it is very easy to change the Grass and Ruined. I recommend using both the Grass and Ruined from the Seychelles Map Theme. This will solve the problem.
a swedish boy 20 Nov, 2019 @ 8:15pm
hey. it might be my theme or do you use some mod so the edges of the rivers doesn't show?
the rivers look like crap for me :)

@[FWKZT] Misdreavus Could you grab a screenshot of the LSM error message? That may help.
Swiss 16 Nov, 2019 @ 8:40am
Everything is subscribed to and enabled, and loads and works fine when LSM is disabled (I'm using it now in fact), but will fail to load when LSM is enabled. Mike is saying it works on his end though so I'm stumped, it must be doing something.
Macwelshman  [author] 15 Nov, 2019 @ 3:49pm
@Mike Thanks for your input. I hope you're enjoying the rivers.
Macwelshman  [author] 15 Nov, 2019 @ 3:47pm
@[FWKZT] Misdreavus PLEASE NOTE: This is not a mod. It is a pack of network assets like roads, walls or buildings. The rivers cannot be incompatible with anything as they do not modify anything in the game. The only time LSM would show an error is if some necessary elements like trees, grass or rocks are not subscribed to or enabled.
MikeFoxy 15 Nov, 2019 @ 2:47pm
I run Network Rivers alongside the Loading Screen mod and everything works fine on my end.
Swiss 14 Nov, 2019 @ 1:18am
I can confirm that Loading Screen Mod by thale5 is incompatible with this mod and will cause this mod to fail when loading.
Swiss 14 Nov, 2019 @ 1:17am
This mod makes me wish the devs would add lava so I can create awesome looking volcanoes, but peaceful rivers will do too. :slimetabby:
MikeFoxy 28 Oct, 2019 @ 3:11am
Map's a work in progress, gonna have a lot more rivers than that.
MikeFoxy 28 Oct, 2019 @ 3:10am
Here's another, just to give you an idea of just how much use I'm getting out of these networks.

@Mike Beautiful work. I love seeing what people create with my assets. I rarely get a chance to see how they’re used.
MikeFoxy 28 Oct, 2019 @ 2:41am
I wanted to post up a screenshot of my current project, figure you'd be able to appreciate it. I can't thank you enough for the mod, something like this would've been darn near impossible without it.

Macwelshman  [author] 28 Oct, 2019 @ 2:29am
@Falcon At A good first step would be unsubscribing from the river pack, quit out of CS, re-subscribing and restarting CS. Give that a go and let me know how you get on.
Falcon At 27 Oct, 2019 @ 1:49pm
Loading mod tells me the assets fail to load. I have installed all required and recommended mods, and have ensured they are all turned on.
Macwelshman  [author] 26 Oct, 2019 @ 5:23pm
@BonBonB Thanks so much for creating this tutorial. You did a fantastic job and hopefully will help to reduce the number of stupid questions in the comments. I’ll add it to the list in the description along with the tutorial that PugGaming is creating for me. You guys are like buses all arriving at the same time.
BonBonB 25 Oct, 2019 @ 10:05am
Hi MacW, really great asset packs!

I've put together a short tutorial (covered most of the basics, but I was still trying to master the network myself) - hopefully it will help somebody, and might bring you a few subs who missed the asset launch. I'll copy this across to the other pack too for commenters convenience.

MikeFoxy 24 Oct, 2019 @ 11:35pm
Me personally? I'd need at least a 100 meter wide riverbed for what I'm trying to do.

In general? I think it'd be great to have riverbeds up to 100 meters or more and step the width back down by 5 or 10 meter increments.
Macwelshman  [author] 24 Oct, 2019 @ 11:22pm
@Mike what widtht do you think would needed?
MikeFoxy 24 Oct, 2019 @ 9:36pm
Would it be possible to make rivers wider than 48 meters, for especially wide rivers? I'm making a map set along the New River Gorge, and not having to struggle with the terrain tools to make a wide, minimal gradient river would be awesome. I'm currently using the 48 width for the main body of water, but need to get wider segments somehow.
Macwelshman  [author] 24 Oct, 2019 @ 11:55am
@LoRd_D There are 10 rivers with vegetation and 10 plain rivers. Each set contains a number of different widths from narrow brooks to wide rivers. This allows you to create realistic and interesting rivers. Now, if you find it so bloated that 20 items (that allow the creation of realistic, adjustable rivers) is too much for your super optimised library then you have two options.

1. Turn off some of the sizes in the content manager.
2. Don't bother subscribing to this pack and continue the struggle making rivers with the landscape tools.

It's your call!
Macwelshman  [author] 24 Oct, 2019 @ 11:48am
@forbesyj9 You could try using a separate water source and hiding the lack of lake connection with loads of trees and stuff.
forbesyj9 23 Oct, 2019 @ 7:21pm
this is awesome.. its just a shame the waves in my lake area are so bad that they cause
inconsistent water flow. river is dry 1 minute and flooded the next
Nucity 22 Oct, 2019 @ 1:21pm
finally someone thought about it! congratulations :)
LoRd_D 21 Oct, 2019 @ 5:25pm
why do we need all these extra mods for seems so bloated
