doesn't work
Yggdrasil Works 13 Jul, 2022 @ 6:47am
No worries Macwelshman. I think it is entirely due to how the map editor works and renders things. I'll see how it looks ingame and go from there.
Macwelshman  [author] 3 Jul, 2022 @ 5:03pm
@Arch Yggdrasil I went through so many variations in the editor when creating these and the final versions were the best that I could achieve.
Yggdrasil Works 25 Jun, 2022 @ 7:02am
Update: I tried to mess with you network in the asset editor. I found out that the half width and the flatten terrain option are creating the issue.
I see that there no way to reduce the half width but do you think it is possible to make a version that is built at terrain level without "flatten terrain" enabled?
Yggdrasil Works 25 Jun, 2022 @ 6:15am
Hello! I noticed that your river networks are much wider than what they are supposed to be. The river itself shows at the correct width but the network takes at least double the width and the river itself is also higher than its borders.
Unfortunately, that means that all the water is flowing outside of your network.
I've tried different widths to the same effect.
Node controller doesn't help with that issue.
ThornyLittleFlower 15 Apr, 2022 @ 4:32am
@champion hero. Try node controller to narrow them.

I can't seem to get rid of the discolored lines that boarders the rivers, even when I change the grass and terrain...I wonder is it possible to create these river mods without those textures?

thank you

Is it possible to decrease the "bias" on these rivers? IOW, if I have a river/stream that splits to go around a small island, and then re-connects on the other side, the island disappears. This is the bias that won't allow the network to "share" real estate.

Ideally, I'd like to see straight vertical river "banks," sort of like canyons.
baronjutter 19 Jun, 2021 @ 11:03pm
These are such an amazing idea, the only problem I'm having is that it seems like there's a hard lined gravel edge to all the rivers. They look like this for me. Am I doing something wrong? https://puu.sh/HQjjN/5aa483df3e.jpg
immunetou 18 May, 2021 @ 12:32pm
Load Screen Mod should be mandatory for anyone playing using mods. That thing is probably the most important mod in the entire library considering how much content is available for Skylines. The author should be put up for a Nobel Prize in my opinion.
Champion Hero 17 May, 2021 @ 7:41am
Is it possible to go narrower with these than the 12m? I'm trying to re-create my region which has a lot of small rivers and streams, and before finding this, made the map using the built in tools. The result are rivers that are unpredictable and massively deep or wide. Being able to use this to create smaller streams would be a blessing! I'm considering dumping my map and starting fresh with these and the narrower width would be key to that!
SA547PH 16 May, 2021 @ 7:35am
Managed to load all the River networks, provided that 1.) Load Screen Mod is used; 2.) set the game texture quality to either Medium or Low if so having memory problems.

OTOH, the BOB mod allowed me to replace the trees in the networks.
immunetou 14 May, 2021 @ 7:38pm
It may be a conflict or maybe memory issue (obviously I do not know for certain) but I am actually laying these in my map as I type, so it is still functional. I have about 160 mods and just under 9,000 assets loaded for use (only stating as a reference point). I also have defined 120GB for my pagefile size since anything less than 90GB results in a crash, or asset failures. Hopefully it is that simple for you to resolve as conflicts are a pain to find when they are not well defined by creators or listed in the broken mod list.

Assets that failed to load all of your NR Green Valley :steamsalty:
bato 25 Oct, 2020 @ 2:37am
Would it be possible to have these just with a water texture inside, so we dont need the 'real' water? Like fake rivers. So especially the narrow ones could be used easily even in not adequate terrain.

Please update !!!

For those not seeing it, try Find It mod to see if you can find it in the networks. They should be in your landscaping networks though
Thick Toast 6 May, 2020 @ 8:38pm
It always fails to be loaded in the game, but not in asset editor.
What may be the problem of failure?
aaldrik.b 4 Mar, 2020 @ 8:47am
Does anyone know why I don't see this pack coming up in my game? I only see the Rocks. I have installed and activated all recuired mods, 1. Extra Landscaping Tools
2. Move It
3. Fine Road Anarchy and 4: extra landscaping tools. Yet, I don't see them coming up and I cannot find them.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong here? :)
frank stallone 7 Dec, 2019 @ 11:16pm
These are awesome! Would you consider make a version in 8m width for small creeks?
Haya Hayabusa 20 Nov, 2019 @ 11:42pm
I can't use these in game, i can only use them in the map editor, and even then, i can only use them in straight lines, I can't curve it at all. and i have all the required mods btw.
Captain Orbel 16 Nov, 2019 @ 2:16am
@King David - Bloody hell, no mate. No way the biggest of these would fit a ferry. Its actually more like "Network Creeks" than rivers. Good for what it is though.
King David 16 Nov, 2019 @ 12:50am
Can you use ferrys on these rivers?
DinoDude777 14 Nov, 2019 @ 5:44pm
What map did u use in the tutorial???
Cpt.Roberto 14 Nov, 2019 @ 9:43am
@Machwelshman I see! Thank you very much for the advice!
Macwelshman  [author] 14 Nov, 2019 @ 5:12am
@Cpt.Roberto This is all down to the 'Ruined' texture in the theme that you are using. If you subscribe to the excellent Theme Mixer 2 then it is very easy to change the Grass and Ruined. I recommend using both the Grass and Ruined from the Seychelles Map Theme. This will solve the problem.
Macwelshman  [author] 14 Nov, 2019 @ 5:07am
@speedtraxxd The only thing I can suggest is to resub the assets, close CS, resub and see what happens when you restart CS. This isn't an issue I've experienced.
Captain Orbel 14 Nov, 2019 @ 3:47am
I just spent a couple of hours playing with this and it really does work well.
YOU STILL HAVE TO WORK HARD and fiddle around for some time to craft a decent stream or creek, but the finished product with this mod is so much better.
You are right that laying down the initial river in the narrowest network first and then judiciously upgrading to wider pieces, varying width up and down as the watercourse winds back and forth, and using MoveIt to tweak the location and height of nodes, gives you a much less regular and so much more natural result.
Cpt.Roberto 13 Nov, 2019 @ 2:03pm
Hello Macwelshman! First off let me congratulate you for this mod, it's a great idea and well made!

I just wish to ask whenever I missed something, when I place them ingame the rivers have a brown outline on the ides of the river. (the standard game ruining texture that any placed road/canal makes). How do you disable that, to make the riverbank seamless with the rest of the terrain. thank you in advance.
vvilku 6 Nov, 2019 @ 8:35am
Hey,
Is there a way to make these networks available in the map editor, other than via FindIt? I'd love to use them in map building, and be able to use the upgrade tool...
I know that the land will not behave properly in the editor (it clearly doesn't support naything "digging in", but it's just a visual glitch and the water would still behave properly.
StyledArc19 6 Nov, 2019 @ 7:37am
amazing
speedtraxxdj 6 Nov, 2019 @ 6:28am
Hy! Have an interesting question for you ....... When I download your rivers, I have an error message in the loading screen, he writes all the objects, only the rivers !!! - not the props - missing! But if I invite them in the asset manager and save under a new name, I can use them in the game and I get no error message in the LS! What can be there ??
BonBonB 25 Oct, 2019 @ 10:05am
Hi MacW, really great asset packs!

I've put together a short tutorial (covered most of the basics, but I was still trying to master the network myself) - hopefully it will help somebody, and might bring you a few subs who missed the asset launch. I'll copy this across to the other pack too for commenters convenience.

@Graystripe If I get enough requests for an Autumn pack then I will. Until then I recommend using the 'Plain' versions and adding your own trees.

Can we expect a fall pack variant?
Macwelshman  [author] 22 Oct, 2019 @ 6:15pm
@Belhade I recommend reading the description in full and referencing the images at the top. If you follow the instructions you should be able to get it working well.
Belhade 22 Oct, 2019 @ 4:33pm
Is the water supposed to stay within the ridges in the river path? Because I can't get it to, best I can do is use it to create a ditch to fill with water, rendering the included vegetation pointless since it's underwater.
F23 22 Oct, 2019 @ 4:55am
that could be gamechanging, fantastic, thanks!
Macwelshman  [author] 21 Oct, 2019 @ 11:44pm
@Belhade I don’t see why not.
Belhade 21 Oct, 2019 @ 2:49pm
Would it be possible to drain these rivers into a lake with a controlled water level, instead of directly into the sea or estuary?
Macwelshman  [author] 21 Oct, 2019 @ 2:28pm
@1998 Honda Civic Are you using the loading screen mod? Conflicts only occur with mods as far as I’m aware so these networks shouldn’t cause problems. It’s always a good first step to unsubscribe and resubscribe and see what happens.
Macwelshman  [author] 21 Oct, 2019 @ 2:22pm
@cahos rahne veloza Give it a try and let me know how you get on.
MikeFoxy 21 Oct, 2019 @ 12:55pm
Finally, a way to create reliably controllable creeks and rivers! I can't thank you enough for making this, it's going to do so much for spicing up my rural communities and nature reserve areas.

This is an excellent network mod, and now that I have it, I can't see playing without it! Thanks again!

sorry if im bothering you, but when im loading it says the assets failed loading, you know if there's any item that might conflict with it.
