Alright so here's a couple things side special does for those asking:
1. If thrown, can be moved around via side special in any direction.
2. Once out, neutral special will fire from it, making for some cool angles and snipes. Must have a loaded musket for this to happen.
3. Not sure what the conditions are but you can go to it via up b.
4. It is automatically collected when walked over, so you're gonna want to use it quick.

@Jakuzi It controls the musket kinda like duck hunt's can, and if loaded you can fire NSpecial from it

Side special has no hitbox and unlike what the description states, he can still reload his musket while it's throw, which merely despawns the musket

Firing SOMETIMES summons a thrown musket towards you but it works at random

Fantastic character. Fits in super well and I think he'd be great in the game. Two suggestions.

- Have his Up Special be him firing beneath him and using the recoil of his gun to "rocket jump". If his gun is loaded or unloaded at the time of recovery it could send him farther.

- His air game overall is very lacking. Maybe give him the Absa backair. GIVE THEM THE HOOFS

Hello, I know it might not be a big deal but I noticed both Gustav and R-00 are cut off in the selection menu. That seems to be because it takes it's name from the workshop entry ("Gustav, the Phantom Musketeer" instead of just being "Gustav"). All other workshop characters don't have their title in the name of the character. Is it possible to standardize them? Thx!

Fun character I love firing the gun while having it dance around honestly way to much fun to mess around with.

I do find it kinda weird that he still holds his rifle after throwing it, especially since he can't reload it unless he's holding the one on the ground. It'd be cool to see some of his normals change based off of if he's actually holding the rifle or not.

Really like this character, but I don’t know if adding a tipper will do any good, also him still having a rifle even after throwing it is a good choice, don’t change that.

So this character is really cool, they're a super sick concept, but in execution, they're a little hard to have fun with?
They can't recover without throwing their gun, but they can't load their gun when it's thrown, so if there was both some way to bring the gun to you and recover without a gun out, they would be a lot smoother.
But on top of that, everything completely halts their momentum. Dash attack stops entirely, dsmash takes forever to start and barely has a hotbox, just so much of them feels too stiff to fully enjoy.
I like this character idea a lot so I hope these things can be fixed to make them more enjoyable.

I know it's a lot of work but a "no musket stance" that changes sprites and moves when the gun is thrown would be so awesome. You could even take advantage of this to give him stronger aerials and normals which the player will be able to access to via this stance, since someone already pointed out he lacks power on them a bit.

One of the best characters on the workshop right now. GJ!

Fantastic concept for a character, there's a ton of depth with the specials, but I agree with gr8h8 that the normals and aerials are a bit underwhelming. maybe add a tipper effect to the bayonet to give him more close-up potential but keep him about spacing. Its really hard to kill right now.

I really like this character so far. My biggest issue is that it lacks any normals using its power leaving many of the attacks feeling weak or bland, The attacks could reuse the effect from the Up Special to add more of that phantom power and give some variety in attack sizes.The normals could also have some affect on the spear to give the player more control of it or even capitalize on overlapping with it. Such as if you do a dash attack while overlapping the spear it could get added onto the front of the dash attack extending its reach.

yo, there's a lingering hitbox if you throw the 'musket' and grab it fast enough, similar to how Ness's yoyo used to be exploited.

This character has a lot of potential. :D
I've got a couple ideas to help improve him too.
I think that the bullet should be a really really fast bullet, not just a beam.
I also think that there needs to be an ammo count for him.
When he shoots, say 5 shots, he needs to reload.
To reload, press the x/b button and press x/b again exactly when the button prompt shows up.
If you miss the opportunity to press x/b, he doesn't do anything cool, he just reloads his gun like normal. If you timed x/b precisely, then he does a tacticool reload and chambers a shotgun shell. (Like spinning his rifle around like how a cowboy spins his revolver like in the movies.)
Now, the very first shot will be a shotgun blast and the rest will be normal shots, but only for this current magazine/clip/whatever.
However, if this gimmick is implemented, the neutral special needs to be buffed a little bit to compensate.
Whattya think? I think it matches very well. =/

He looks really stiff considering there's not much movement to his attacks, making him not feel as good to play as he could've been but I absolutely love the gimmick on display here. Also, the ping sound on his counter is a bloody brilliant choice.

Another mod I was looking forward to when I saw it. Kind of prefer his old name, Musky, but that's just me. The mod is well made and offers a pretty unique playstyle. Good job!
