I'll tell you what upsets me about the town wizards and College of Winterhold - they actually don't carry much for mages! A couple of robes, some books and scrolls but NO circlets, necklaces or rings of any kind to boost a mage's or any character's stats - some expert enchanters they are: heck, Belethor carries more than they do!

This has been a great mod, Thank you Ferret!

Then don't download it.

I'm not mad at having wizards not having lots of soul gems. It makes the point of exploration to other cities to buy other gems, or go to dungeons and fight for them.

Here's an idea. Add a recharge to soul gems. take your grand soul gem that has a petty soul inside and recharge it with another petty soul to turn it into a lesser soul. or a lesser to turn it into common or common to greater or greater to grand. i dunno if its possible but its still an idea, im no good when it comes to creating mods but im a great source of ideas for mods.

I'll look into it. I think it might be hard coded though.

still, a mod that directs sized souls to the proper size gem would be a boon. If thats possible.
jconsort 7 Nov, 2013 @ 11:42am
actually on the recharging screen if you use the up down or roll keys you can see all the gems that can recharge an item..

Large soul gems capture anthing their size or less. It is a major flaw in the game. Thus, a mod so that petty souls will only enter a petty gem, not a lesser, common, greater or grand.; and lesser will only fill a lesser gem, so on and so forth.

Its a constant pain to cap a soul and then weed through the inventory wondering what size it was or if it was smaller than the Gem it entered... when we have to drop (empty it) and thereby wasted. (or) a way to superglue (combine) smaller soul gems to make the ones desired - (for enchanting, etc) ... the game makers were so lazy that even the recharging screen only shows the topmost 3 gems... leaving you no way to scan/scroll through them all to grab the minor gems you want to use for weapons on the go (during combat in the wilderness or dungeons)

@Buttcheese, could you explain you idea a little more?
Soulblighter 6 Nov, 2013 @ 9:58pm
yeah, but getting allowed "into" the college for some pure warrior classes is a pain, and mages/merchants rarely have stones, and when they do, they are mostly empty ~ now what would be a most AWSOME mod is something that allots souls to the proper gem size ~ so we don't have to constantly review our stocks for those lame petty souls rattling around in a Grand Gem. = truly annoying Bethesda! thats just lazy script writing.

but thanks for helping make enchanting easier = Skyrim Enchanting leveling is the most Carpel Tunnel time wasting grind in the game! I hope they fix this so that we can pay enchanters/alchemists/blacksmiths TO DO THE JOBS OF THEIR TRADE instead of ~ "oh sure, you can borrow my tools, but do it your damn self! attitude. ... weird, just weird.

Buy soul gems from the mage trainers at the college, I bever run out of them there (and the fence there almost always has a black gem) This mod good for those who plan on not joining the college!
Ferret287  [author] 26 Oct, 2013 @ 5:17pm
Correction: It increases their amount of soul gems by three fold.
Link-X-Malon 26 Oct, 2013 @ 4:30pm
Ah, that explains why I almost never have much when I'm low-level.
Ferret287  [author] 26 Oct, 2013 @ 4:29pm
It increases the chance of the seller having them is stock by three fold. It really depends on what level you are though. The higher the level, the higher the chance.

Seems like a swell idea. Question: Sometimes, when I'm trying to enchant my full armor and weapon from time to time, they never seem to have any Grand Soul Gems in the first place. Does this mod fix that too?
