How do I exit the speedboat? I tried every key on my keyboard.

This is probably my favourite SP mission. Outstanding fun :steamhappy: Really looking forwards to playing more of your missions if they're of the same quality. Great stuff!

@sbridge That is a bug. An unfortunate one. The script is supposed to find "positions" in houses, which should be clear and able to be accessed, and put the objective (in a box) randomly in such a position.

So what probably happened is this the game reported a position which was not clear. (Or perhaps it was clear, but some daft AI driver crashed into the house too many times and flattened it.)

I think you're just very unlucky. I don't have any solutions other than suggesting you cheat into existence a UAV terminal. Probably the NATO one if I remember correctly. That would require scripting (using the in-game console) and I cannot think of the command off the top of my head.

I'm very sorry to say it may be easier to restart. :(

I am really enjoying this mission. It is the most engaging solo mission I have played. Great work, but I do have one problem. I started looking for the UAV control at the airport then went to the two towns and couldn't find it. I decided to backtrack and look for something I might have missed and found the intel that put the location of the UAV at the last town I had been at. Back I went and the location of the control was under a meter of rubble just outiside of a destroyed house, (\i hadn't destroyed it). Is that a bug or can I use explosives to get at it? I started at 1:00pm and sneaking past all those patrols was very time consuming and I would prefer to not start over again. Thanks for a great mission.

One of my favorite stealth missions. SUPERB!! Congratulations and thanks for sharing
edjeedje 12 Nov, 2017 @ 10:36am
Great mission. I liked it very much. Did not need the 'extra' crates. I especially liked that the scenario was not very staight forward, e.g. with the fuel line mishap.
It can be extra challenging not to use suppressors and/or night vision; but why not, if they are available.
Shugah Bear =VX9= 23 Oct, 2017 @ 5:18pm
Excellent SP mission! Lots of fun. :)
addicted to quack 21 Mar, 2017 @ 3:52pm
Very well done. Well placed enemies, common threats, achievable alone or with friends, and a metric ton of flexability. A+
varus 15 Mar, 2017 @ 8:34pm
Hey! Well done. All worked perfect for me. I'm enjoyed it very much. Thank you for making this misssion.
nichevo  [author] 10 Aug, 2016 @ 6:28am
@Vicious Lee You're probably right. Still, when I have a moment I'll try this mission in the current version of ArmA. (This mission may even need updating to work with Apex; not sure.)
Vicious Lee 7 Aug, 2016 @ 12:55pm
This scenario and War of the Hats both crash after a few minutes, every time, in Arma 3 1.62 for me, on Win 7 32 bit. Clearly there is a bug or bugs in 1.62, not in your scenarios. (Every other user made thing I'm trying also crashes in the same manner.) This is a terrible shame, your scenarios look like they must be tremendous fun.

nichevo  [author] 21 Dec, 2015 @ 6:13am
@Liberty_Valance After reading your comment I was worried that the latest ArmA 3 update broke the mission. But no, I just tested it, and the equipment is working fine. It appears you were simply unable to find the Virtual Arsenal ammo box about 10 metres to the left of your starting position.
Liberty_Valance 20 Dec, 2015 @ 8:50am
without weapon and equipment ... really ?
nichevo  [author] 10 Aug, 2015 @ 6:29am
@roelofrossouwrob Thank you. Glad you got it worked out. :)
roelofrossouwrob 10 Aug, 2015 @ 3:19am
Great I did it, repaired the fuel line and completed the mission. Thank you please write some more
roelofrossouwrob 10 Aug, 2015 @ 3:04am
Thank you for getting back to me so soon. I will try the mouse rolling thing! Thanks man
nichevo  [author] 10 Aug, 2015 @ 2:19am
@roelofrossouwrob It's an action-menu thing; you use it in a similar way to how you'd enter a car or open an ammo crate. Try looking at the UAV and rolling the mouse wheel, and try in various different spots. (It sounds like you've tried this already, though.)

Is it not appearing for you? There's two likely problems. Firstly, it could be a mod you're using that's broken it. Secondly, it could be that Bohemia Interactive have updated the game in a way to break my mission (it happens). When I get a moment to look I'll check out the second option by testing the mission. I'll report back here.
roelofrossouwrob 10 Aug, 2015 @ 1:34am
Excellent mission, but I just can not find the fuel line to reconnect on the UAV. I crawled underneath and checked out every where. Can you please give me a hint so that I can complete
BeachAV8R 19 Jun, 2015 @ 6:34pm
Hey..this was an awesome mission! I wrote up a little review/AAR at my site:

NOPRONAA 24 May, 2015 @ 3:33am
Excellent mission
Raedwald 1 Feb, 2015 @ 2:29pm
On my first attempt the UAV terminal was not at the documentatd location. Bug or unreliable documentation? OK on second attempt.
ColdWolf 4 Dec, 2014 @ 1:30am
Excellent, thanks so much for your response! I'll test that out now.
Failing that, I'll play without mods...missions like this are too good to pass up :)
nichevo  [author] 3 Dec, 2014 @ 6:42pm
@Xanatos Thank you. :)

Regarding the UAV exploding it's worth asking since Bohemia often make updates that break missions. But I tested the mission just now and the UAV is not exploding for me; not in the first few minutes anyway. So it likely is a mod you're running.

If you're keen on using mods you could try something like this as a work-around.
• Download a debug mod, something like this [www.armaholic.com]. (Note: I have not used that particular mod.)
• The UAV has the name "uav". Issue the command "uav allowdamage false". That should make it invulnerable. (Assuming you can issue the command fast enough before it explodes.)
• You might need to issue the command "uav allowdamage true" once you get the UAV airborne in order for the mission to recognise that you've flown it away.
ColdWolf 2 Dec, 2014 @ 7:22am
Probably a mod conflict, but thought I'd ask anyway since I love playing with AGM:
The UAV randomly exploded at mission start...any ideas? :P

Otherwise, an absolutely awesome mission. I love having multiple (and well done!) insertion options, and the addition of customising my equipment before I paradrop into hostile territory is fantastic!
Lord Killer 19 Nov, 2014 @ 1:05pm
I love what you have done. I guess i will play this mission for long time.
Good job.
FerociousWhiteCat 4 Nov, 2014 @ 10:20pm
I'll try to see what's going on, I'll let you know if I figure it out.
nichevo  [author] 4 Nov, 2014 @ 6:21am
@RedPerkele That's an odd one. I just tried now and the door opened fine. I trust you've not got any mods that might interfere with door-opening? Not using the developer version? I'm afraid I don't have any solutions.
FerociousWhiteCat 4 Nov, 2014 @ 4:03am
I don't know what kind of bug this is, but I'm just locked inside the compound as the mission begins. The door is locked...
nichevo  [author] 14 Oct, 2014 @ 10:53am
The bug related to Virtual Arsenal, which I mention in a below comment, has been fixed thanks to the release of ArmA 3 v1.32 [dev.arma3.com].

This mission should be fully playable again. As always, please let me know if you spot any problems!
nichevo  [author] 22 Aug, 2014 @ 6:14am
There is a bug in the latest version of ArmA that prevents Virtual Arsenal from working. As this mission would be difficult to play without Virtual Arsenal I suggest people don't play it for now.

Supposedly the bug will be fixed in the next version. Read more here [feedback.arma3.com]. Maybe I will implement a workaround in the meantime. Either way, I will try to remember and post here when it's working again.
nichevo  [author] 14 Jul, 2014 @ 10:14am
This mission has been updated to be compatible with the "Bootcamp" update. Most notably this involved replacing the Virtual Ammobox System with the Virtual Arsenal (see here [arma3.com]). There were also some other minor changes; see here for details.

Feedback is as important as ever. Please leave a comment if you find a bug, have a suggestion or just want to let me know that the mission worked for you. :)

@nichevo - Oh right. Well thank you for clarifying that. No harm done in that case...Perfectly good name for a pigeon. Cheers.
nichevo  [author] 19 May, 2014 @ 4:01am
@Septimus "Scotch Lass" is a reference to a 1945 recipient of the Dickin Medal. If you have an issue with the name you may wish to contact the recipient's namer.
✪Septimus✪ 17 May, 2014 @ 10:03am
The word is 'Scots' or 'Scottish', definitely not 'Scotch'. 'Scotch' is considered a pejorative and since the 20th century is only used to describe whisky. I had to correct that little error before I could play it, but nice mission just the same. Yes, I am Scottish.
raph 9 May, 2014 @ 2:14pm
Gorgeous mission! I will definitely play it again. Difficulty is just right (well I died a dozen of times but that may have to do with me starting to play veteran). Really enjoyed it! Thanks a lot
Wulfbk 17 Apr, 2014 @ 10:17am
Excellent
timokujansuu 30 Mar, 2014 @ 3:35am
Very nice mission, kinda wish I had one or two squadmates with me, seems kinda insane to do this solo... but somehow i managed it. I should mention that in the room where i found the uav terminal i also found a document telling me where the terminal was, lol.
Kozak 30 Mar, 2014 @ 12:14am
Awesome mission, replayed it 3 times :NATO:
nichevo  [author] 11 Mar, 2014 @ 10:47pm
@FrontApfel Maybe you don't have the latest version. The virtual ammobox system was first added in November 2013 . If there's an old version out on the internet somewhere please let me know where!
nichevo  [author] 11 Mar, 2014 @ 10:40pm
@FrontApfel I just checked it then to make sure. Out the door, to the left about a dozen meters. There's a great carboard box thing on a pallet. Approach it and you can "Select Equipment". That is a virtual ammo box [forums.bistudio.com]. I have modified it slightly so it doesn't give out every item in the game, just items I approved for the mission.

It is the only way to get equipment at the starting base (save for some diving gear in one of the green crates). If you were unable to use it for any reason you'd have to attempt the mission with your starting gear -- your uniform, a basic rifle, a single magazine and nothing else.

Are you sure you're playing Operation Scotch Lass? You're not playing a different mission? You're not running some funky mods that might break things?
Apfl 11 Mar, 2014 @ 7:38pm
Mh nope but it seemd it didnt work if u added one. I will have a look why and tell you if you want.
nichevo  [author] 11 Mar, 2014 @ 11:23am
@FrontApfel There is a virtual ammo box. Did you go in with the default loadout of a basic rifle and one magazine?
Apfl 9 Mar, 2014 @ 5:52pm
If you would add a virtual ammo box, this szenario would be perfect! Anyway good job!:B1:
LowFlyZone 5 Mar, 2014 @ 12:45am
Very nice mission, I really enjoyed it. I like the length as well, the random intel and uav terminal makes things interesting, all the insetion options and random spawns... You've inspired me to make missions like this instead of corridor-style missions with just random patrol routes.
HallyG 3 Mar, 2014 @ 8:09am
Loved it. Good job.
nichevo  [author] 3 Mar, 2014 @ 6:41am
I've updated the mission to fix a small bug and make it somewhat more challenging. See the change notes for more information.
T_I_jNcU 21 Feb, 2014 @ 11:31am
Very good mission . Nice pacing and optional objectives. Very replayable.
CookieMonster 21 Feb, 2014 @ 10:42am
Amazing. Keep up the good work :)
kelotan 13 Feb, 2014 @ 2:23am
Thanks a lot for this great and creative scenario!
