I also have a really cool flying mission/game that never saw the light of day before I stopped gaming but I've spent far too many hours on it to not let people play it so hopefully I can get these out very soon! Cheers! :-)
But I have been lazy in updating this mission, so cheers for kicking me up the ass.
I'd love to hear what you guys think of Jungle Sniper 2, which I made as a proper Arma Sniping mission. It's not perfect either, but it's lightyears more advanced than this mission. You'll be able to see a big improvement in my mission making.
I gather from your comment you want:
More variety in enemy's gear and soldier types - no worries, easily done
Enemies in stealth position - may not be possible given the type of gameplay I'm trying to achieve
Spotter able to take gear - This is a bug I will address, thanks for alerting me to it
If you could expand upon the "several major aspects" it is lacking in, I'd be happy to update the mission but please keep in mind the type of mission I was going for; something more similar to a Battlefield mission than Arma.
I understand that a whole lot of things need to be changed to make this a really good mission but I only have so much time. I'll get to it asap
That is exactly what I said. I was inexperienced. Try the first two sentences of my comment.
Like I said, I appreciate the ACTUAL feedback you guys gave. I didn't appreciate the comments "Congrats, you know how to place units in the Arma editor" "obviously should be tackled by a more experienced creator". They do not constitute constructive critisism.
No, I'm not just interested in positive feedback, if you'd noticed my other mission, Jungle Sniper 2, you would have noticed plenty of people giving me actual feedback on what needs changing without condescending me and I therefore made changes accordingly. Nobody has given me much feedback on what needs changing in JS1.
Also, don't *welcome* "All feedback and suggestions" if you're going to make excuses for things that need improved and therefore nothing is wrong with the mission. I believe Popo raises important points but you seem to have missed the "Things that should be improved" that were listed in both our comments. There you have it, feedback, but you've clearly proved that you're only interested in positive feedback. That, sir, is the only disappointment to me.
Sorry for the disappointment guys. It was my first shot at editing a mission 2 years ago so it was more accurately a lack of knowledge as opposed to lazy mission editing. The idea of the mission was to play out like a typical video game mission as opposed to a milsim which is why enemies needed to be moved to unrealistic positions to keep the action going. The spotter not being able to take anything from the crates is due to mistakenly creating the mission in the singleplayer editor which messes with some multiplayer things.
The point is, this was my starting point. I've learned an immense amount from making these missions and am now a muich better mission maker for it. Although it's a simple mission, I was proud of my work so I uploaded it and seeing how many people liked it, I'm glad I did, but while I appreciate and encourage any and all feedback, the sarcastic jibes are completely unneeded. Save them for something you paid money for.
However, there is a workaround if you can't wait. Simply navigate to Documents/Arma 3/Saved/Steam, open the Jungle Sniper 1 folder and copy the .pbo file. Now go to where you have Arma installed and paste the .pbo file in the 'Missions' folder.
When you're in the game you will notice you now have two versions of Jungle Sniper, one in the steam content tree, one just above the tree. Use the one above the tree and it will allow you to save/reload your progress.
