Sorry mate, the only thing I can recommend is running through a (machine) common issues checklist.

Is the machine cache thrashing (swapping memory to disk)? Running a mechanical hard drive? Lot of tabs open in a browser on another screen? High CPU usage? Long time since a system reboot? Has the game crashed since a reboot, but still have a hung process running in the background? (that one happens to me from time to time, task manager -> process tab, scroll through the list looking for "Space Engineers") Using the steam browser to access a music streaming website (don't do this!).

Those are the most common things I can think of that affect some of my friends in various games that experience odd freezing problems.

My FPS does not drop, my Tick Rate doesn't seem to have any issues, the game simply freezes, and then returns to a playable state after. Nothing else is affected, or happens that seems to indicate anything is wrong. I sit at over 100 FPS when nothing strenuous is happening, turning on the Ore Detector doesn't impact my overall FPS, I only get the random freezes.

The FPS counter doesn't move from over 100 when I freeze, either. The moment it ends it only varies by a few frames. I played the game in 2021-2022 with a mod like this, or maybe even this one, and it was fine, heavily modded as well.

Depending on your world complexity, mod list, and your hardware; longer detector ranges can theoretically cause a performance degradation, but for most players is unnoticeable.

On my machine (an i7-7700) i see no drops in either FPS or Tick Rate running multiple detectors at maximum range.

I've been having issues with the game freezing every 5 seconds, it lasts up to 10 seconds at a time. This only happens over 100 meter range for the ore detector on a small grid, I haven't used large grid yet.

Yes I tried moving to the top of mod list. I only have 2 mods - ore detector and speed mod. Its odd I have a small grid and a large grid. When I turn on the small grid ore detector and put it up to 300m, the ore shows up at around the 250-260m (and closer, ofcourse)
When I turn that off and turn on the large ore detector, set it all the way up to 1200, make sure the small grid is off, same thing. The ore only shows up when Im within 250-260.
There could be something wrong on my end. Maybe the game thinks this is a small grid somehow. But the ore detector is the large on, on a large grid, with the option to detect up to 1200.

I just looked at the xml once more, it is set to 1200 for large grid.

Have you tried moving Ore Detector+ to the top of your mod list?

It looks like for small blocks it works (I set it to 300m but it detects only up to 250m)
For large blocks, it continue to only check out to 250m? I've tried disassembling and reassembling, no dice, only showing ore out to 250. (Also have a large grid antenna and have broadcast to antenna)

No tools needed, the definition will be an xml (in plaintext). I don't have animated ore detectors, so i can't point you to a specific file.

If you want, you can edit the animated mod and change it's radius. It shouldn't really affect anything in MP, but the changes will be wiped if the mod updates. Ofc, you could copy the mod and use it as a local-mod

Copied guys. Thanks for clarification. I use Ore Detector Animated and did put this mod on top but... anyway, so, I'll keep installing large Ores on Small ships xDD

If that mod overwrites the xml definition for the ore detector, then they are in conflict and are mutually exclusive of each other. I'm afraid you'll only be able to use one or the other.

And animated ore detector (if is the first) is breaking this mod. Animated ore detector is not working with this mod.

Well, seems not to work for me. I'm using an animation for Ore Detectors and Jump Drives (only mod for detectors) I placed it at the top of my mod list and... 50m range =(

Hello, so I am using this MOD as of today, it works fine however when I turn off my ore detector and get out of my ship I can still see the GPS locations on my HUD from the detector and I have disabled it? Is this known or a workaround available?

This mod is broken on Servers... it makes ores disappear randomly.
I Removed it personally, and launched my server, and all ores now appear.

Im running this with deepOres mod, it works fine for the most part but after a while it is showing ores 7km away. It breaks the challenge.

For anyone using AQD Quality of life, the conflict is in said mods MiscAdjustments.sbc file. If you edit that you can have a larger ore detector range. for easier search: AQD qulaity of Life mod id is 2465585201

My modifications occur in the cubeship utility file, it should have no effect upon turrets. I would kill for a load order manager like in fallout somedays.

Update, I moved the mod to the top of the list and the weapons are firing normally, not sure if any other mods are affected.

Loaded this mod today and it worked correctly, however I found that the turrets no longer automatically fired on enemy targets, and the npc enemy turrets did not fire either. I unloaded the mod and the weapons started automatically firing again.

I wish I'd found this mod earlier. Such a simple change to the detection range totally changes the game play for the better. Now off to find uranium!

This doesn't work for me. Maybe some update broke it? It's enable in my game save, it is at the top of the list of the mods.. The Ore Detector range continues to be 350 for me, I even grinded it out and build it again to see if that worked but nope.

If you are using AQD Quality Of Life Mod in the core System of that mod it over writes this one I had the same problem till I checked the other mods i was using, the only way to use this is to go in and select the mods in AQD Q. O. L. that you really want and load the mods them selfies and remove AQD Q. O. L.

I found that it is best to turn off the ore detector when not needed to avoid heavy loading of my computer

This mod is super helpful for the large ship detector and finding ores in asteroids as you approach. But it seems to have changed the character/hand drill detector range which is super obnoxious at my moon base because of all the meteor strikes.

I know it hasn't been updated lately but FYI for new users: using the detectors at max range can cause frame drops. I was using 1200m and when I turned it off or down to 500m, smooth as butter.
