@Iris Heart, I have been considering making an addon for the Order of Sunlight mod, and i received permission from their mod author however I am no good at making anything better than pixel art from scratch, but i can certainly recolor textures, would it be acceptable for me to use assets from your mod in the development of my addon for the Order of Sunlight mod? with proper credit given to you of course

Unless you're referencing my other mod, this mod doesn't affect in-game balance either, all vanilla monsters are untouched, all this has is two new rare encounters that use 1 new monster and all other monsters are pure vanilla.

Jester has only 1 action per turn. If your jester was making more than 1 action per turn, that's some other mod interfering. Whole gimmick of jester is that he moves 1 space forward each turn, and finales when in front position. The only way he gets there faster than 4 turns is that if you actively kill the monsters in front of him, therefore accelerating his emergence.

She doesn't drop it 100% of the time, otherwise you'll be just swimming in trinkets. But the chances are pretty high. And when she doesn't drop the class trinket, she drops general loot from vanilla loot table of pretty good quality.

Dude, I decided to give this mod a chance after this discussion, and on an average quick ruins run I have encountered both vestal and a jester literally one room after another, and the third fight was a collector. And I could not prevent jester from finale, he evaded stun and due to multiple action per turn was in a position on my second turn. And it quite often allows it to do so in other many fights. I suggest that some parties could prevent him from doing finale with certain efficacy, but some have limited control options and this fight could not be prevented or predicted, I also have noticed due to quite many fights with him (1% chance, huh), that he spawns with spiders, one of which poison target, my occultist have not die today only because of 20% HP trinket boost. Also - i even did take a screenshot - vestal did drop nothing of value, I mean no trinkets at all.

As I mentioned before, for many monster mods there are same complaints - statistics doesnt work as intended and 1% chance are not really 1%. Like, I met vestal in almost my every dungeon run. As for other game statistic based interactions and checks I almost sure there are some hidden mechanics which increase/decrease chances of bad events depending of how well player performs.

Stingwing, Jester only uses his finale when he is in the first position. Don't kill his mobs too early, try focusing him or the ones behind it first. I understand that his high dodge creates frustrating possibilities, but he is supposed to be dodgy and if he weren't, he would be extremely easy to control and would never reach the first rank to perform his finale.

The chance of encountering Vestal I think is 1% and only in rooms of crypts (no hallways). Jester is only in hallways but across all dungeon.

About permanent defeat - there is no known way to do this even if I wanted to. At least not known to me.

thekingofmods, yes I've seen this video. I even have a comment under it from 10 months ago when I seen it. A couple of things. First of all, he was using some unrelated mods that made vanilla monsters stronger (skeleton soldier turned on riposte). Second, he kept hitting different enemies instead of focusing one down, against a healer, and she kept healing them. Failing to do basic strategy is not a difficulty issue on my side. Third, when he went against jester, he was already down 1 hero and the second one was on death door. These are really not good examples of how this mod is badly balanced.

Vestal can be left as she is, perhaps. This fight is hard, and I encountered it in almost every red ruin i visited (it seems game have some very strange implication of statistic mechanisms and many other mods demonstrate same situation - low chance encounters happens very often), but it's not a mortal danger, I admit. But i have met it once with antiquarian scouting party with a very unusual heroes choice and it was toothgrindingly annoying fight and spoiled otherwise succesful run.
Again - much simplier solution, albeit a rough one - to make their defeat permanent on each difficulty, without future encounters.
P.S. I do understand that there are people around with much more time spent in-game or with better understanding of its mechanics. But higly likely a majority of mod players would be like me - ordinary but seasoned players searching to make a boring game a more diverse one.

I still fail to see how he can be balanced, because a threat he posses are very unusual - he will be killed in most situations but highy likely will take your hero with him if accompanied by any mobs with bleed\blight effect. It was a good thing in Shieldbreaker dream - if you lose a fight to snakes - you return to real world alive, but with a huge stress debuff, and such situatuion is much preferable in a game, where you spend literal hours of time to correctly level up character, especially with right quirks.

Well, game often creates situations, where pool of heroes are limited to certain goal, like to collect more valuables, or to slay a boss with particular weakness. In red dungeons two of my different parties lacked skills to move enemies and missed their stuns. One party was able to debuff him, but he was able to do 41 point of dmg still. No hero was killed only due to miracle/lucky turn of events.
Its clearly a normal boss level of danger - to lose a hero no matter the actions, while many bosses allows to, at the very least, set up a fight in your favor or to have a decent preparation.

Interestng. When I was testing it on both my actual save and my test save, both bosses seemed a bit too weak, especially the vestal. Also, both encounters are limited to once per dungeon. And about loot, they drop the class specific trinkets, the higher the difficulty - the higher the rarity of the trinket.

Vestal, on the other hand, is also a huge threat on its own, a dangerous miniboss without any gains or profit from its defeat, not to mention that its like 3-4 times more powerful than original due to multiple actions per turn and double power on spells. So, if you collecting any feedback - mod is good on technical and aesthetic part, but really horrible in terms of balance, and forces to remove it, so the runs in originally highly unpredictable game wouldn't be more unpredictable. So, the suggestion is to either balance it to make more manageable, or to limit this interactions to one only per each difficulty of the dungeon, or to provide free firewood on its defeat.

The amount of frustration i feel towards this mod is only rivaled by disrepect to orig. developers for artificial difficulty and rigged statistics. Encounter with jester could (and will) easily(!) bring one hero to the death door, because its almost impossible to remove in a turn or two a hero with 60 hp and high evasion stat (which in turn prevents stunning or debuffing), even with 20% damage debuff this annoying mob was able to do 41 point of damage in single hit and often he is not the only one high priority - high danger moster here.

That's interesting. I never had a problem with her, no matter how I tried to. She always seemed weak against my teams which wanted me to buff her further. Jester, on the other hand, if he gets to the first position...
