I also like that Opponents can knock you out of clinch, thematic and a fun limitation you have to maneuver.
Since damage dealing is not guaranteed, I see his role is Tank/Stress healer.
The way these abilities work together while following a theme show much more talent then someone making another boring damage dealer that swings a sword,
So don't be happy that someone likes your 'dumb' mod, be happy someone likes your 'creative' mod.
I like the Idea, but in the game people like to minimize chance, and low accuracy makes people a little more scared to use it versus the more reliable skills. I would only feel safe to use it with the reworked trinket.
Though if you do want another GRab move idea, I do have one if you would like, or just ignore it if you dont ^_^
how about a counter grapple:
a one time riposte that when hit marks and switches you to clinch, also buffs your dodge for a round.
kinda like in mma or Judo, when someone punches, you counter and get them into a hold.
