@Morokael At the bottom of the load screen is a small tick box that allows save game files to be loaded even after removal of mods, I've used it often. Your save files should be fine unless you remove a big overhaul mod.
Morokael 10 Oct, 2020 @ 6:21pm
Please do not delete this mod. Without this mod still "in the system", some save games will be broken.

@Vandy
Good stuff, linking to it and will delete this one soon to avoid confusion.

-THIS MOD IS DISCONTINUED-

It might still function but you are better off not trying it. I havent got the time anymore to update my mods unfortunately, but they are up for grabs if anyone wants to continue them or make their own versions, anyone is allowed to do anything with any part of any mod I made.

Why can't it be for multiplayer, what's the conflict ?
Shotoku_Vanshin 13 Apr, 2020 @ 10:47am
@Ic1999 Any updates on wether or not it's compatible with SFO?
If this mod works I couldn't thank you enough Anyndel, I'm was so tired of allied factions "stealing" settlements that I quit allying at all.
lc1999 17 Mar, 2020 @ 3:40am
@Hetman
According to author's comment on previous pages. Author said it works with SFO.
Haven't tried it myself tho but will soon.
Мільтіад 9 Mar, 2020 @ 4:19pm
Is this mod working with SFO?
Rustic Clover 29 Feb, 2020 @ 12:09am
Will this make multiplayer have problems, or does it simply not work for multiplayer without negatively affecting anything?
grz34998 16 Feb, 2020 @ 10:26am
Out of curiosity how does this mesh with the abandon region mod?
°CRACKED° 11 Feb, 2020 @ 12:52pm
Hello Anyndel, This mod is awesome but I have one suggestion. Instead of forcing the player to take the settlement that gets returned. Allow the player to decline it or accept the return. I say this because a few times a settlement I have not needed anymore will be given back to me without a choice. It will continue to do so after I leave it rebel or taken over by the enemy and my ally constantly re-captures. Thanks.
Nicanor 7 Feb, 2020 @ 2:43pm
Will the AI return territory previously held by other AI allies?
Anyndel  [author] 4 Feb, 2020 @ 3:31pm
@all
The mod should now work just fine with the Region Trading mod, gifted regions will be registered as such and wont be returned to the player. Got rid of the button altogether and found a better way to do it automatically in a simpler way. The same fix should also fix the Malus problem. Therefore the mod now no longer needs the UIMF.
elastichedgehog 3 Feb, 2020 @ 5:44am
Ah, thanks for clarifying. Some kind of visual indication would be appreciated though!
Useful mod either way, thank you.
Anyndel  [author] 3 Feb, 2020 @ 4:23am
Unclaim settlement button wont do anything obvious. Clicking it wont do anything visible other than set an invisible variable to 0 so that when your turn comes up next time you are not gifted that region back if an ally now owns it. Its not a button to abandon settlement or anything like that, just a way to tell your allies you no longer want that settlement back. I should probably make the button give more feedback, like letting the player know x settlement is now unclaimed or something, but the button is working, as Ive been using it myself.

Regarding the Malus thing, I'll patch that over soon, it should be an easy fix.
Dizzy Ioeuy 2 Feb, 2020 @ 11:16pm
yeah this mod has some problems atm
omnominus 30 Jan, 2020 @ 4:39pm
using this mod while playing the Malus Darkblade DLC. Accepted the money in exchange for Hag Graef, and the next turn my "faithful ally" returned it to me! Had a good laugh. I suppose this is a fun way to game the system, but it does sorta bypass the whole point of making that decision.
elastichedgehog 27 Jan, 2020 @ 3:50pm
Unclaim settlement doesn't work for me either. I have UI modding framework.
Toolshed 18 Jan, 2020 @ 8:19am
"unclaim settlement" button not doing anything?
DobisPR 17 Jan, 2020 @ 12:36pm
Good looking out on the unclaim settlement button. Was wondering what it was for. Brettonia kept giving back L'anguille after gifting, remembered this mod, checked your page, and found an easy solution. Nice.
Anyndel  [author] 13 Jan, 2020 @ 9:16am
Thats actually a neat idea, will check out how doable it is, one of the issues that jumps to my mind is that its not really possible to modify dilemmas on the go, meaning itd be hard to tell the player which settlement the dilemma is springing up for at the start of his turn unless I made 300 dilemmas, one per individual region and so on, which would be a bit insane. I like the idea though so will take a look at how it can work.
Briar_Black 12 Jan, 2020 @ 8:10pm
I think it would be very cool if we were offered a choice as to whether we wanted the land back or not. A turn event popup that asks if we want to retake the land and give them money for returning it to us (+Diplo bonus with faction) retake the land without paying (-diplo bonus) Allow them to keep the land for a payment (cash bonus) or allow them to keep the land for free (Large diplo bonus).
Otherwise very neat Idea. Excellent stuff. :)
Anyndel  [author] 12 Jan, 2020 @ 7:07am
@Grim
Thats certainly an issue, since that mechanic wasnt there when I made the mod. I'll make a way to ignore it in that particular situation

@all
Updated so that now you can zoom in on the settlement you are given back to know which they are, and fixed a small issue with the unclaim settlement button appearing out of place sometimes.
Grim 4 Jan, 2020 @ 11:35am
This is likely an unintended bug (feature?) but when playing as Malus if you decide to give up Hag Graef following the event, the AI will gift back the settlement on the following turn - essentially allowing you to keep the settlement and get the big income boost at the start of the game.

Unsure if there is a way to block this interaction but it is something to be aware of.
8-The-General-8 4 Jan, 2020 @ 10:56am
Gifting settlements is back then?????

Then this is a game changer!

Subbed!
General Hawk 3 Jan, 2020 @ 3:14pm
This is great!
kophis 31 Dec, 2019 @ 10:45am
Hi, would it be possible to make an option so the allies give you their land if they are not fit for the climate (red) but you are (green)?
Kurnous 27 Dec, 2019 @ 4:35am
Will AI factions do this with one another?
Sophist88 16 Dec, 2019 @ 1:30pm
Yeah... this mod is really cool, but I just use region trading. The ally can try to get something for his trouble.
Krimson 13 Dec, 2019 @ 11:36pm
Thanks for making them compatible but I feel like with Region Trading this is somewhat superfluous. Also, you should set up a Patreon, I would love to contribute!
krombopulousmonk 13 Dec, 2019 @ 8:43pm
work with multiplayer?
Anyndel  [author] 6 Dec, 2019 @ 3:15pm
Added a button to allow the player to unclaim settlements, the button will only work if UI Modding Framework is installed, otherwise the mod should have the normal functionality.

https://i.imgur.com/lx49UPi.jpg

The way the button works is you can now gift a region to allies and then click that button after selecting the settlement you want to unclaim on the same turn you gift the settlement and it will undo the variable that claims that land as your own so it wont be returned to you that time since it wont be counted as yours by the end of the turn. This makes the mod a bit more compatible with region trading as long as those steps are followed.

Let me know if it doesnt work as intended, so far its worked on my testing.
Anyndel  [author] 3 Dec, 2019 @ 9:32am
Does work with SFO
Cheese is King 1 Dec, 2019 @ 6:04am
does this work with SFO? sounds great.
DrinkEnemyBlood 30 Nov, 2019 @ 7:14pm
This mod is the answer to my long standing wish going back to rome 2, thanks for this gem.
Anyndel  [author] 26 Nov, 2019 @ 8:52am
@Rain
Probably not, it'd end up being a hassle to decide who to give a region if many people have owned it and so on, can only see trouble trying to figure that one out.
Rain 21 Nov, 2019 @ 4:08pm
Any chance to make it working for multiplayer some day?
(idk, adding exception for faction belonging to player 2, or something?) Would be really amazing if it worked in MP
MasterOfGrey 21 Nov, 2019 @ 2:37pm
Ah, no building up a region for my allies then.
Anyndel  [author] 21 Nov, 2019 @ 4:49am
@Kamen
I'm not sure yet, the thing is the easiest way would be Region Trading having compatibility for this given it would only be adding a line of code in the Region Trading script, but asking a very popular mod to accomodate for a new one feels wrong. Trying to see if theres a way on my end.
Anyndel  [author] 21 Nov, 2019 @ 4:46am
@Grey
That is in the description.

@Ethan
That is a cool idea but I think that while its annoying when an ally takes your land it doesnt happen nearly enough to merit such a complicated system. Ive had it happen twice in the 150 turns of my current campaign for example, and I was happy it was a reliable return rather than a chance based one. Imagine installing a mod to get back regions from your allies and it only comes up once or twice in your campaign and RNG says no both times, would be kinda eh. If it happened constantly itd be another thing.
