Good stuff, linking to it and will delete this one soon to avoid confusion.
It might still function but you are better off not trying it. I havent got the time anymore to update my mods unfortunately, but they are up for grabs if anyone wants to continue them or make their own versions, anyone is allowed to do anything with any part of any mod I made.
If this mod works I couldn't thank you enough Anyndel, I'm was so tired of allied factions "stealing" settlements that I quit allying at all.
According to author's comment on previous pages. Author said it works with SFO.
Haven't tried it myself tho but will soon.
The mod should now work just fine with the Region Trading mod, gifted regions will be registered as such and wont be returned to the player. Got rid of the button altogether and found a better way to do it automatically in a simpler way. The same fix should also fix the Malus problem. Therefore the mod now no longer needs the UIMF.
Useful mod either way, thank you.
Regarding the Malus thing, I'll patch that over soon, it should be an easy fix.
Otherwise very neat Idea. Excellent stuff. :)
Thats certainly an issue, since that mechanic wasnt there when I made the mod. I'll make a way to ignore it in that particular situation
@all
Updated so that now you can zoom in on the settlement you are given back to know which they are, and fixed a small issue with the unclaim settlement button appearing out of place sometimes.
Unsure if there is a way to block this interaction but it is something to be aware of.
Then this is a game changer!
Subbed!

The way the button works is you can now gift a region to allies and then click that button after selecting the settlement you want to unclaim on the same turn you gift the settlement and it will undo the variable that claims that land as your own so it wont be returned to you that time since it wont be counted as yours by the end of the turn. This makes the mod a bit more compatible with region trading as long as those steps are followed.
Let me know if it doesnt work as intended, so far its worked on my testing.
Probably not, it'd end up being a hassle to decide who to give a region if many people have owned it and so on, can only see trouble trying to figure that one out.
(idk, adding exception for faction belonging to player 2, or something?) Would be really amazing if it worked in MP
I'm not sure yet, the thing is the easiest way would be Region Trading having compatibility for this given it would only be adding a line of code in the Region Trading script, but asking a very popular mod to accomodate for a new one feels wrong. Trying to see if theres a way on my end.
That is in the description.
@Ethan
That is a cool idea but I think that while its annoying when an ally takes your land it doesnt happen nearly enough to merit such a complicated system. Ive had it happen twice in the 150 turns of my current campaign for example, and I was happy it was a reliable return rather than a chance based one. Imagine installing a mod to get back regions from your allies and it only comes up once or twice in your campaign and RNG says no both times, would be kinda eh. If it happened constantly itd be another thing.
