One day I got really into tweaking worldmodels (with notepad++ of all things I could have chosen) to look good in-hand and this happened to be one of the models I did. If you want the worldmodel files where the player is holding it EXACTLY at the grip and braces it to their shoulder, lemme know!

i dont think its that since it crashes the game when an npc is hit, not when the beam is fired, but i think thats worth a shot

i like the railgun, but every time i kill an npc with it. the game crashes. any way to fix it?

i thought it was the spiral beam causing it, since it happend with some others that where using some of my other weapons which have a spiral beam

Regarding the game crashing, I've done a bit of testing to find the culprit and it seems to happen with the railgun dissolves an entity that has some sort of scripted event bound to it. From what I understand, shooting an NPC or other entity that has a scripted event it needs to follow (for example, the citizens being attacked by metropolice in the beginning of Route Kanal). Shooting entities with the railgun forcibly stops the event from happening, which the game doesn't know how to handle, so it crashes.

Apologies if any part of that was confusing.

them people would complain that it does not look like the original railgun, just set the convar in a .cfg somewhere in the config folder

i haven't played quake 3 so i don't know what the scope looks like, i like the acog chevron tbh
as for the damage types, its fixed now, so you can kill the combine aircrafts and striders again

the scope is just weird when it isnt on the railgun, and some enemies are no longer killable with it like a strider

also would somebody care to explain why tf thier game crashes when they fire the weapon; in easy steps so i can repeat it and possibly fix it.

Thats what made this thing fun too, and thanks for doing this 1, along time ago I saw this on Garrysmod's site and that version was brokern with Errors.

just kinda inconvenient when standing on a thin wall or something, so that the recoil pushes you off...

i could revert this change, if people actually used this recoil as advantage

i pretty much cut the recoil force in half from 500 to 250

thats why i slightly decreased the recoil of this thing

I remember this thing, you can also jump twice as high if you point it down.
