@dunce I very much doubt edd will lower ANY boss armor, in fact, he added far more boss armor to far more bosses. Mega satan, already one of the tankiest nonsense bosses, got super beefy. And the beast is extremely tanky overal.

boss armor more like cringe armor

Awesome mod, I hope it gets updated to Repentance because Ed and Kill didn't think lowering lowering boss armor was a worthy change for whatever reason...

Yeah, because Incubus' tears are affected by Isaac's stats and tear modifiers, except range and shot speed. So it should also apply to Incubus and Fate's Reward (not remembering if there are other familiar that behave the same way). I thought your mod applied to the boss armor itself, but it seems that you check the source of the damage to apply the right calculations based on that. It's interesting :-)

As for Revelations, it seems that they've reworked on their version of boss armor. I haven't tested the mod yet so I can't say much but from what I've read on Discord some of the bosses put a more fair fight now. Not sure if applies to all of their bosses.

i think this is specifically because (1) incubus' shots aren't actually counted as coming from the player and (2) the mod only affects damage dealt directly by the player, which can (and probably should) be changed easily

ALSO: i've temporarily disabled revelations functionality due to the Neapolitan update heavily changing how their hp scaling works to begin with, which will need to be reflected in my code for compatibility (otherwise hp scaling would likely remain as it was pre-update). if things have been made as fair as i've heard others say, i'll likely disable it by default for new installs (and have as of this emergency update)

Hey hgrfff. Not sure if it's a bug or not but this mod seems to ignore Lilith's (or Incubus) damage. Had a run with Lilith using Ipecac and the fight went as it would without the mod. I have it enabled with the armor set to 0%.

okay, looking at it more it's specifically a problem with the forgotten's melee attack, which as fun as it is does NOT want to cooperate with anything i'm doing here

Not sure if it was Kilburn or Edmund who tweeted that Delirium will be reworked for Repentance, so it's only a matter of waiting for the release of the DLC and hope for a more fun fight.

HMBP is an incredible feat but it's not a cup of tea. I'm more of a vanilla player that's why Hush, Delirium and Ultra Greed armor always bothered me. Fighting those bosses breaks the flow of what the game ever was. And that's where your amazing mod comes into action :-) I'm looking forward for your incoming fixes. Once again, thank you.

i like hmbp's delirium, though you're not gonna find a total overhaul of the mechanics there
i've gotta work on this again some time, i noticed at one point that the workaround required for the api lacking directly modifying damage taken breaks certain tear effects (jacob's ladder especially)

Hey there hgrfff. After a long hiatus from this game I reinstalled it to check if the things that bothered me, damage scaling and Delirium broken mechanics, had beed modified. It seems that it didn't change that much since the launch days of the DLCs... Trying to look for a workaround I stumbled upon your mod and, after trying it, it's exactly what I have been looking for! Thank you for your work!

Now the only thing that I need to find is a complete overhaul of the Delirium mechanics.

@Nioffe your feature request is in :badcat:
use damagearmor_vanilla_all or find the toggle in the vanilla page of the config menu
Badsy the Edgecat 26 Nov, 2019 @ 5:45pm
i know that. i just wanted clarification on if this one was also a joke
unendingEmpathy 26 Nov, 2019 @ 5:33pm
Piber's mod was made as a joke entirely, it wasn't intended to be serious.
hgrfff  [author] 26 Nov, 2019 @ 5:03pm
hm. i don't know if i like that
Badsy the Edgecat 26 Nov, 2019 @ 4:21pm
well it does NOW, but it used to say that it removed that damage scaling. does this actually remove damage scaling?
hgrfff  [author] 26 Nov, 2019 @ 1:48pm
piber's mod does exactly what it says it does and I will not stand for disrespect of it in this house
Badsy the Edgecat 26 Nov, 2019 @ 1:05pm
oh this mod actually finally exists? this isnt just that other mod that claims to do it but actually adds 100% damage resistance to everything?
hgrfff  [author] 25 Nov, 2019 @ 4:26pm
harsh, but yes
I plan to add a setting to split the difference between unscaled and scaled health/vanilla damage armor
Ms Mowz 25 Nov, 2019 @ 3:48pm
Does this kill the garbage hp scalling that revelation bosses have?
