And all of this just for a horrible, overtuned, boring, and overall disappointing gameplay loop that's impossible to figure out without the modmaker's insane ramblings on the steam page. Wholeheartedly downvoted.
Basically, the fight is a stress-based one - except, every single attack also inflicts ~6-8 chip damage, meaning you can't just tank it.
Additionally, the Musician himself is a trap - if you kill him, he just murders your entire party without recourse.
You have to kill nine 60 HP 80% prot summons, all of whom deal ~6 damage on average, in addition to stress. The Musician himself gets two turns, and all his skills also inflict stress and damage.
That means the fight will inevitably end with all four members of the party afflicted as you try to chip down three extreme prot summons.
Attacking the Musician is out of the question, because a random crit could send him to zero and then he'll kill your party. Meaning you have to somehow tank stress, health, and damage nine summons with extreme prot over ~80 turns, all for some shitty trinkets. Definitely not recommended.
I missed the first event (week 40) and encountered him for the first time after week 70, probably because i have a lot of mods that triggers event.
I really wanna get the Astronomical Violin tho, is there any way i can get it?
Hoping that you will answer, unlike everyone here, i liked the difficulty. Amazing mod.
只能算是个高压持久战,看阵容恢复能力够不够,不够就打不过,不存在靠音乐家的debuff操作局面
"Be careful when the Musician appears, because ignoring him or losing against him will end in losing 3 random upgrades from your buildings!" ---> wrong imo
I think the main problem with it is the lack of foreshadowing, whether through the quest text being largely unhelpful or having no region for expected mechanics/types. All you can realistically gleam is they're gonna be human(which bites you in the ass, as Man Slayer Ring and the like are just baits), and that they deal with stress(quest text and the champion Cove enemy). I think all of this could be fixed by just setting level 1 and 3 variants, so you actually know what you're up against, and if you lose the first party, it's just low-levels with little investment.
If you get to the end, and think you've bugged the game out (while following the spoiler'd guide on how to beat him), you haven't. You just have to reduce the boss's HP to 0 at that point the old-fashioned way (should be really easy with his maximum of 80), which is then the trigger for the "Move" that closes the fight. So you don't have to worry about sabotaging yourself by hitting him at that point. Hope that helps!
Usually i don't read mod's discription, just because i want to beat everything myself. And you just saying "Ah, yeah, whole yur team will die if you try to kill musician only." under the spoiler? hard boss is fun, but it should be fair fight. In DD you have a ton of variations, how to fix this (maybe he had high dodge and with every death of mobs this number begin to be lower, IDK).
But now i just lose 3 of my faworite guys for nothing. That's NOT what i want from this mod.
I really want to like this mod, as i love the concept, but it needs some serious tuning and bugfixing before I try to use it again.
Thank the lord! I will give it another go.
*Now avoiding the Plot Quest won't destroy upgrades on the hamlet
*The summon enemy nows has lower stats overall
*All stress damage is lower
As this boss rains hell on the hamlet if ignored, if you do not have a lvl 6 dodge comp ready when he shows, your game is essentially over.
Please consider some number adjustments, as the core concept is fun but its implementation is not enjoyable.
HE KEEPS COMING BACK. im removing this mod because I lost to him once, (Bye Bye dismas :( ) and after i retreated he was still there.
I checked the code and each event has a cooldown of at least 7 weeks, and they shouln't appear if you don't have at least 4 heroes of Lvl5.
I suppose it's a bug that he reapear each week (the event don't ends), if it is not, it should be changed. It's completly broken.
Wulf dissapears for a time if you lose and the game gives you a chance of redeem your fails, the musician not.
Until it will be repaired, the mod is uterly broken. Plz do something. This mod has ruin one of my main runs.
Sorry about my english.
