your quote 'This thing still works though and probably will for all eternity'
and testing on a live server Vs your other Drives Lord Clang leaves the Pump drive alone 100% of the time, and the pump drive works better then the spining rotor/merg clang drive my group were using so going forward im going to be using the Pump drive as my main Clang drive (also your Merge Dampener i found out how to do them quicker and with out needing a small ship for moving the sub grids)

Looks good, maybe you should publish that :D

Well,small grid version works now.
I increased speed to 1 second cycle and added three of them on small grid. It works but sometimes there is a side force. Dampeners needs to be disabled otherwise it will explode on 100m/s speed. Anyway, see video, I exploded at the end anyway - https://youtu.be/DUleufNBct0

Any of clang drives available in version for small grid ? Small grid pistons move only 2m, that means 2 mergeblocks only, I tried but no movement at all but I'm not very good at Clang science

This would look amazing as an internal engine with two alternatly cycling.

> I mean if anyone wants to make a script for that, that would be cool, but I'm not really looking forward to writing and maintaining a script myself.

Here I go scripting again)
I feel like this would be easier to script than the rotor one that I'm using now.

You've done it, you madman! All hail Clang!

I have a while! If you need help, just ask!
Major Jon  [author] 4 Dec, 2019 @ 5:02am
Ok I just found out you can simply detect inputs in the form of wasd with a script, maybe this isn't so difficult after all. I'm going to change the existing drives slightly and then maybe make something like manager script for all drives, but I'm kinda busy right now so that might take a while.

I mean if anyone wants to make a script for that, that would be cool, but I'm not really looking forward to writing and maintaining a script myself.
I'm atleast going to edit these drives slightly (grouping, renaming etc.), to make incorporating them in a script easier.
Btw I've got a third drive coming, it uses sliding doors as propulsion :D

would you be fine if I asked someone to make a script to run this like a regular thruster? (Along with the mass one)?

It would probally run based on the names, so I could tell you what you need to name them.

Just wondering if you want me to look around some!

Looks like the Jump core operation of a battlestar ( see Threading the Needle in Blood and Chrome )

Good stuff!
Quickshadow10m 30 Nov, 2019 @ 6:03pm
yeah, mass would be good as a satalite thing maybe
Major Jon  [author] 30 Nov, 2019 @ 5:57pm
Depends on the mass of your ship, below 800 tons its weaker, above its more powerful. It's a lot larger but doesn't apply torque to your ship. Generally I would say it's only really worth it on gigantic capital ships weighing several thousand tons.
Quickshadow10m 30 Nov, 2019 @ 7:44am
Is this better then the mass drive?
Rhea.licious 29 Nov, 2019 @ 3:22pm
Reee these Clangdrives are getting onto the server I play and ruining simspeed.
Helratz 29 Nov, 2019 @ 2:08pm
Nice to see people still making Klang-Drives!
