Additionally they ARE separate materials, so just set them up like a traditional animated texture instead of a scrolling texture. See valve’s original festive light VTFs for an example.

That’s ridiculous critique. It’s called optimisation, it’s the modders job to make that change. It’s my job to make sure my cosmetics use as little memory as possible.

Couldn't have made the glasses and lights separate textures to at least allow modders to animate the lights, something the creators were obviously too lazy to do.

there's 100k people in game at time of writing, so the 5k positive votes equates out to about an apparent demand of 5% of tf2's playerbase, which makes sense since 95% of players seem to be very vocal about how upset they are with these shitty cosmetics
