@Jorhanjo: you have to start by creating a station close to or inside an asteroid. From there you place blocks against the walls as the programm allows. Very often you will be allowed to place the blocks so they are partly (sometimes almost completely) inside the asteroid body. That makes it look like the station is built firmly into the asteroid. You have to take care that all the blocks that you want to place some kind of functional equipment on are connected (at least on one flat side) in the end, so the electric current is flowing. Besides that you can always place "helper" blocks to get some other blocks in position, then remove the helpers. As stations are stationary, the "free" block will not be floating around.
