Sad that custom content got removed,it could have worked up probably just fine if it got updated to new version's standards and just added install instructions.It was cool while it lasted I suppose,understandable why it wont be supported,too much effort to upkeep

They're also mucking with the balance and pushing the DLC by removing a lot of moddability in the base game.
Nah, I'm done with the game. Maybe someone forks it, makes a game I want to play again. It was a good game, then a great game, then a cool game, and now it keeps getting less cool.
Borderlands 2 has more moddability, and it wasn't designed for it.

I think the update is not needed because the developers are already adding new rooms themselves. There are some interesting ideas there that I'll use for my next project.:steamthumbsup:

Wish this got a remaster for the new versions of Barony.Looks cool but trying to convince somebody to play the old version is near imposible

I just think more games with the same and similar mechanics to bot the 3.x and 4.x branches of this game would be cool.
Also FOSS games for FOSS engines is good for everyone. Commercial games benefit, if the license for the assets works with their design, license and business model.
No idea what the progress is on a new set of assets for OpenMW, but it's a laudable goal, so people have a starting point for new games. That engine is very capable, at this point.
This engine is dang good, from what I can tell.
A non-procedural game using it would be tasty.

To be honest, I don’t know yet. I'm currently developing another big Baroni project. I can't select the "More room" development option:

Creating anew by adding custom content, excluding the ability to play with other mods or create anew, but being locked into only original content, which imposes a very strong limitation on creativity.

@Schlagschinken, You are right, the problem with items appeared due to the lack of control over the random spawning of things.

I disabled random spawning so that players at the first (custom) levels would not receive level 30-60 items (crystal set)

I didn't seem to have any problems with random item generation but I think there was an issue with the map/tiles. there were tiles that felt out of place in some areas. Are there still vanilla submaps? if so I guess it doesn't jive well with the different tileset. I wish this would be updated seeing as it adds a lot of content, but in that same token I understand keeping it up to date must be rough.

damn... i really loved the design of the maps we have seen so far, but if theres no "reliable" way to get food its kinda way to difficult to play as anything else but Skeleton.
true, in Vanilla you can also run around finding no food, but having no "random" items laying around makes this so much harder, especially the food aspect.

@Schlagschinken, This is a problem with all custom levels. (For example, an incubus will always appear in fountains instead of a succubus.)

I had to remove most of the ways to get items. Unfortunately there is no way to get rid of autolevelling in custom levels.

If I leave the default setting for that level, players will randomly get things from the last levels. This will create an imbalance that makes the game easier.

sooo tried this out with a friend. (automaton and human) and we had 0 loot except chests / mob drops (which where not existent with the zombies in the deep mines)

we are confused as if this is intended or a bug, since theres no loot, food or ANYTHING laying around.

Thanks, I don't think we'll ever get mod compatibility. The most obvious way to combine the two mods, is to add from More room only rooms, but then will lose a lot of content.

Second best mod after wicked rendition, level design focused, closer to vanilla, and best of all still actively maintained .
Must have global mod if you prefer the vanilla experience, but really, I'm praying and waiting for a day the base game overhaul settles down enough to where the two can be combined.

Interesting bug, thanks for the feedback. I wish I'd had a chance to test the mod in co-op. Most likely the garden will be removed from the mod because the game has very few tools to edit the new levels.

Were there any other problems with the mod?

party of 3 in the gardens makes player 3 teleport out of the map 1/2th of the time, very frustrating.

Hi, the mod works fine for me but when my friend joins he appears to teleport back and forth on my screen and then when we load the next dungeon my friend says he spawns under the floor. Idk if this is still being updated but just wanted to report this strange behaviour

@flsp3m, I can't help you because I haven't experienced this problem. The best way to solve the problem is to wait for an update from the developers.

There will already be a decision whether to start the development of the mod from the beginning or delete it.

Tried to play it with a friend but it crashes everytime he starts the game. We tried both in multiplayer and singleplayer. The first modified map seems to load correctly but after a second it freezes then crashes

@Wato, This option disables only random traps that are generated by the engine. The traps you are talking about were placed manually in each room for one reason or another and the option to disable them will not work.

i dont have any complaints with this mod other than there's still random traps in the levels even when you turn them off (im aware that there still will be traps in places like the roof before going into the portals in the forest) is this a bug or intended?

Thanks for the hasty reply. I trust your judgement with the difficulty on merging the two. Didn't consider that you'd have to edit all of the rooms to make this possible. Hope you can get in contact with the author of wicked edition. Both works are a pretty impressive.

@Ciberuss, Theoretically it is possible, but you have to edit a lot of levels. I can't even imagine how much time it would take. You have two choices, either re-do all the rooms in More rooms or re-compile the .exe in the evil edition. Both options are horrible. We'll have to wait for an update from the Barony developers. Maybe they won't be able to keep the mods intact and I'll have to recreate More rooms. Then I'll try to negotiate with the author of the wicked edition to combine the work.

@haloace999, What system does he use on his computer and what is his version of the game? Crash happens, only one player? At what stage of loading does it take off? (Most people take off the game at the loading tiles stage... )

@haloace999 Often the problem is that people forget to unpack additional files at the root of the game. This can be checked by AIR texture or players will not see the model of the stairs in deep mine. Unfortunately I have not tested the modification for Epic or Linux users.

@Vael, It will work, but one problem:
Baroni Big replaces the gameplaymodifiers.json file
This file contains modifiers for different levels. Try everything should work, but in custom levels you will have errors.
