Ok Cool, thanks!
Major Jon  [autor] 19 DIC 2024 a las 8:35
you can have one on either side of the center of mass, that's fine, it will cancel out. If you have just one on one side, it will work too, but it will also make your ship spin, so how like a physically accurate thruster would work.
LUVRNETIC 18 DIC 2024 a las 21:38
Looking at some of the pictures the doors don't seem to be in alignment w/ what I would assume is the center of mass?
In picture 5 for example, the top and bottom doors of both engines would be misaligned right? Is there any significant detriment to this or is it fine as long as it's balanced
BandyNet 24 JUL 2023 a las 8:58
Thanks
Major Jon  [autor] 24 JUL 2023 a las 8:39
You can stack them however you like, the armor blocks are just there to hold the doors in place, you don't need them
BandyNet 23 JUL 2023 a las 14:17
Thanks for sharing. Can we stack 3 pistons verticaly ?

@Singleton

Clang Drives to take some time to get used too...
singleton30 29 OCT 2020 a las 18:09
11/10 would launch again lol
singleton30 29 OCT 2020 a las 18:09
I tried to use this clang drive once to make a missile that would have a beacon on it so it would lure a big npc fleet away.
When it launched, it did a loop, tore off a chunk of my ship's armor (at least 9-10 large grid light armor blocks), and yeeted itself in the opposite direction, never to be seen again.
CTH2004 7 SEP 2020 a las 10:40
So, I see this one has an example. I have a quick favor to ask. Could you have example ships for the other clang drives, and those ships, while going in (Say, the Cepheus collection), also go into a "Clang Drive Example" collection, which also contains the clang drives (In the order such that the example is above the clang drives, so it goes Example Ship(s) for Clang Drive A, Clang Drive A". Example Ship(s) for Clang Drive B, Clang drive B, and so on. By doing that, we could see more on how it works. Just an idea (:
Amaka 11 MAY 2020 a las 5:14
Its work on all server
Major Jon  [autor] 3 MAY 2020 a las 20:09
Of course that's alright, I made these for everyone. You can do whatever you want with them :D
Btw, incase you haven't noticed, I made a new version of this type of drive, which doesn't even have subgrids, is printable and tileable.
Anyways, have fun exploiting Klang for your desires :hmm:
>DINKY< StickJock 3 MAY 2020 a las 19:13
Hi Major Jon! Thank you for this, I've been using these kinds of drives in my builds for some time. I have recently published a ship that uses this exploit to my workshop and credited you for the PDD drive, I hope this is alright; if not I can remove the drive from the blueprint.

Thank you for your brilliance, and I hope you stay safe! <3
MericSever 26 MAR 2020 a las 9:43
Just (mostly) finished my new ship with the PDD & MID, if anyone wants to have a look i've published it as a blueprint. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2036088385

Cheers Major Jon for the inspiration to make it XD

Erebus Hunter 29 ENE 2020 a las 15:29
i am amazed that people are harnessing the godly power of klang. how is this possible?
TCTurner 5 ENE 2020 a las 11:03
Ooooh, okay, will have another look. Thanks
Major Jon  [autor] 5 ENE 2020 a las 11:01
It's a blueprint
TCTurner 5 ENE 2020 a las 10:53
Have to ask, I've subbed in attempt to use it, but it's not appearing in my Mod list, Am I doing something wrong?
Lyric Drake 591 28 DIC 2019 a las 10:23
nice dude, but i dont wanna continue worshiping clang iv been suffering withdrawal from the worshiping and so this is SUPER tempting to use always XD.
Major Jon  [autor] 14 DIC 2019 a las 6:26
Good idea, I'm gonna try that. You can always just drag the piston group to the toolbar. If you mean that you want to toggle the drive with wasd, a script would be necessary. That's definitely possible, but quite some effort and I'm not gonna make one atleast in the near future.
JWA 13 DIC 2019 a las 21:53
Have you tried doing any of this dark magic using super grid blocks? Like would it work on a small grid using the super grid doors? Thinking not because the collision box is different but something interesting ought to be possible.
JWA 13 DIC 2019 a las 21:51
Is there a way to keybind this so I could still accelerate with wasd? A script? Or would it even be needed if I used this with the inertial dampener?
Night Raider 12 DIC 2019 a las 12:48
there is a mod called small ship mega mod pack
Major Jon  [autor] 12 DIC 2019 a las 11:34
You can place it anywhere as long as it is in line with the center of mass.
Ken Stormwolf 12 DIC 2019 a las 11:12
can this be mounted inside the ship or does it have to be mounted outside the hull?
Kanken6174 12 DIC 2019 a las 11:08
Hope KSH doesnt patch this too fast :steamhappy:
Kanken6174 12 DIC 2019 a las 11:08
God, you just did it again, my ship now has an acceleration speed of GMOD km/s

All fear the unfathomable power of clang
Major Jon  [autor] 12 DIC 2019 a las 11:07
It's pretty simple to build. You can just weld it from a projector, add piston heads from the terminal and put interior pillars on top.
Quickshadow10m 12 DIC 2019 a las 10:55
or spata
Quickshadow10m 12 DIC 2019 a las 10:54
This is is too overpoersed, it it to hard to do in survival? Cause if not, Im going to the moon lol.
Major Jon  [autor] 12 DIC 2019 a las 5:31
As long as there are no small ship doors, it will most likely be impossible. I'm gonna make a small grid version of this thing in the near future though.
Night Raider 12 DIC 2019 a las 1:28
can you make a small block version pls
Night Raider 12 DIC 2019 a las 0:32
this is really cool

This is about as insane as I've seen on here - well done Ser! :D
JustSpiffy 10 DIC 2019 a las 17:19
How did you come up with this
Blacky Watchy 10 DIC 2019 a las 7:16
@damienmccain12... i would be interesed in see that...
Major Jon  [autor] 10 DIC 2019 a las 7:14
@damienmccain12 sounds awesome, I'd very much appreciate getting some feedback from some other clang scientists :D
Also your drive has like 1 GN of Thrust in a 2x2x3 space? How the hell did you manage to do that? I suppose merge blocks, but my merge block drive is gigantic compared to that.
remethep 10 DIC 2019 a las 3:27
Love it!
All hail Klang. :D
Blacky Watchy 10 DIC 2019 a las 0:43
Lol. I love that
damienmccain12 9 DIC 2019 a las 18:34
hey jonathan,im the R&D head of a faction, and ive got to say, youre making good progress.id be happy to give you a spot in our group.while your drives arnt very efficient in comparison to what we use,i love the modularity and design asthetic.as an example, our main lifting engine actually gets stronger the more mass and gravity effect it,functionally making have infinate thrust up to a point. ive lifted the 'aci ascendancy titan' off a 3g planet with the smallest drive we can mass produce in survival,2x2x3 blocks.also ours has instantanious toggling and constant thrust
Lemon 7 DIC 2019 a las 5:28
Try to make an clang jump drive that
