keeping foreign relations and piracy high is one of the main ways to keep people happy and the voodoo blessing which increases productivity is nice aswell. beign able to improve foreign relations by fake-anti piracy campaigns is a good addition too, something i miss in the main game is manipulating opinion this way. made me think how would you hide such a piracy problem. Also my harbor got attacked once by a demonic pirate... at that point i got into a huge debt crisis, but i somewhat fixed it, by reintroducing sales tax. sales tax and property tax is something i like to abandon early on to give people a bit more money to spend, which hopefully will absorb the GDP a bit.

this mod is old but a 10/10 for me. works perfectly fine still :).

This is verry hard. Need to grow the economy if I spend too much I run into debt crisis if I try to fix it with taxes instability will result in me getting overthrown. If I do nothing the deby still builds up and crime never gets solved and the economy is nothing.

Hey Raffmonster, I had the same problem with the restricted feature on my mod. I used #Restricted and it worked. Hope that helps.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. Unfortunate, but only a minor inconveience, really.

Yeah I kind of messed around with the #restricted, but it doesn't seem to work... so far you'll have to deactivate the mod manually if you play another country

This mod is kind of cool, but it adds all the new policies and such not just to the Monkey Island government, but EVERYWHERE. It really messes things up.

I talk about a huge update this summer... so very soon. I can wait...

But i can offer to the world a french version right now (yeup, i have do the translations for myself).

Should we allow CCTV cameras, internet censoring, or drones in a pirate society? XD, I imagine this leads to some very strange scenarios! I almost want to try it because it is so silly (I don't mean silly in the bad way), but it seems almost too silly. I might try it sometime, but right now I am on the fence.

This mod is not about being realistic, it's about being Monkey-Island-Related. Voodoo is a huge part of Monkey Island.

I mean that you basically start out with every situation possible.

Limit the starting situation.I almost lost an election because of them.

Yeah since the last patch you can restrict policies, which I will do when I work on an update of this mod around Christmas. Unfortunately, you can't restrict simulations, so you'll always have the "Piracy" and "Voodoo" buttons, and, I fear, all the Situations and Events.

Probably better to just deactivate the mod when you want to play a different country (I know, that's kind of impractical)

This is a real fun mod and stuff, but it's kind of awkward when you have policies of voodoo and piracy in Germany...

Maybe you can try to "ban" all policies and situations from the game (and mods, or just ask people to disable them) and then make an "island" only based on piracy, and profit they make from it, it would be fun !
If it's possible :)

Well, took me a little more than 1 (5 year) term, but I got 96% vote, 100 bill+ reserves, and half of the problems eradicated, but I have corporate exodus and that soviet roit.

There is just one thing I would like to point out: This is not a complete overhaul, and it probably never will be. It is just an extension for the existing gameplay and even though I will still update it and may implement more stuff in the coming weeks or months, this will never reach the status of a totally unique and sophisticated country. Just a mod xD
