ah didn't think of testing that, not sure why it would be getting the default track type for the floor instead of the set track type but I'll fix it when I have a bit of time later today

You were right about the alt secret room settings, but I've been checking shops along with them in order to make sure it's consistent to any room I set as "Use Floor Track", but in testing stuff after reading your comment, I've found something I didn't realize.

I'll set Depths to "TheEndIsNigh - Depths", and the secret room Use Floor Track, and it worked right. Then I set Depths as "TheEndIsNigh - Catacombs", and when I enter the secret room, it starts to play "TheEndIsNigh - Depths". So it's not actually calling back to the Rebirth default, it's always using the same library.

In your testing, are you changing the floor's track to one from a different floor in one of the ones that isn't working listed below? I can make it work, but only when I pick a Depths track for Depths or Downpour track for Downpour, so I was thinking maybe in your tests, your track settings are the same floor.

is it consistently the same floors with the issue even if you change the soundtrack for each floor and start a new run?

one thing I noticed when testing was one secret room seemed to work fine but then another secret room on the same floor didn't, then I realised I'd only set 'secret room' to use floor music but not the 'secret room alt' or 'secret room alt 2' tracks much later down the custom list, so if you've only had the issue with secret rooms that could be it

it is rep+ compatible (it used to mention it but it must have been removed in an update, its annoying that if you update the description in steam and then later update the mod the uploader program grabs the description from the mods files and not the updated description from steam) and I've been using it with rep+ for the past week

surprised you went so far as to uninstall and reinstall the game (as opposed to just verifying integrity) but the fact that new options appeared proves that either something was broken or you had an older version

Part2: Then I realized, I'm not 100% certain if this mod is Repentance+ compatible, and I don't see anything mention Rep+ in the description. I wanted to try Repentogon again to see if that would help with this, but it's still not updated to work with Rep+. If compatibility isn't an issue, I'm just baffled. I once had a mod problem with a Stardew Valley mod that the creator confirmed didn't even affect the files that had anything to do with the issue, yet hours of testing always pointed to that one mod.

Now I'm curious if any other users can recreate these problems, just because this mystery is so interesting lol.

(Comment split into 2 for character limit) Part1: I thought I had surely found the issue when I discovered a mystery "Antibirth Soundtrack" mod in my folder that I wasn't subscribed to and doesn't even exist in the workshop, and deleted it. Still not working, so I unsubbed, uninstalled, and reinstalled both this and [Rep]Music Callback, and still the same issue. Then I unsubscribed to all mods, uninstalled Isaac, deleted all folders and files in Steam and in My Games, reinstalled, turned off Cloud Saves in Steam and the ini file, subbed only to MCM Pure, Soundtrack Menu, and [Rep]Music Callback, and the Soundtrack Menu actually had options that weren't there before, so surely it's fixed. Nah, same thing as before. I'm honestly tempted at this point to doing what is long overdue, and getting a new SSD and a fresh install of Windows, just to see if this bonkers issue that only I have is just stuck to me forever, lol.

I did another check just now and its working for me in the floors you listed (burning basement, etc) also not sure why some floors would work and not others (unless you've got some other mod on that's trying to play music), might need to reset the custom list, or delete and redownload the mod

Hmm, I'm not sure if this is a me thing, but I'm experiencing trouble on certain floors, but not all of them. On certain floors, when I enter a room I have set to "Use Floor Track", it plays the Antibirth version of that particular floor. I checked each floor and listed which ones are wonky:

Doesn't Work: Burning Basement, Downpour, Dross, Flooded Caves, Mines, Ashpit, Depths, Gehena, Scarred Womb, Sheol, Chest, Necropolis, Dank Depths, Mausoleum.


Works: Basement, Cellar, Caves, Catacombs, Womb, Utero, Corpse, Cathedral, Dark Room, Void, Home

I'm not sure what's up, but if it's not happening to anyone else, then it's definitely just me and I'm stumped lol.

Oh my god it works! You've no idea how long I've wanted this feature lol. It's as game-changing as it was when I first found Soundtrack Menu. I got so tired of all the same tracks, I started just muting the music. Now I've got some of the greatest game music around playing the whole run, and now I get to actually hear all of it. oh, that's not working as intended, picking 'floor track' is supposed to work like 'silence' where it removes the second option (I'm pretty sure it did when I first implemented it but that was a while back, wonder how long its been doing this for) I'll see whats going on and patch it in a bit

The mod I want most in Isaac right now is to be able to listen to my amazing tracks without it constantly being interrupted by secret rooms and the like. Unfortunately, this is asking me to select which library to choose from along with the "Use Floor Track" option.

For example, I have Depths set to "Antibirth, Dank Depths". While in Depths, if I want to use the floor track, I have to select "Antibirth, Use Floor Track" under "Set Secret Room Music". That would, however, make every floor's secret room be the the respective Antibirth track.

Weirdly, when I select Default/Use Floor Track, it starts playing the preview music for whatever I have chosen for that floor, which is great. But when I enter the room it plays Rebirth/Use Floor Track.

Is there a way to just never change the music for the set room? Kinda like when you choose "Silence", there's just one line because that's all it could be. Having to pick from a library with "Use Floor Track" doesn't really use the floor track.

I keep having an issue where the soundtrack is reset to the 'default' soundtrack every time I enter a new room. If I set it to the flash soundtrack for example the next room I enter will be flash, but if I look in the mod menu it says it's set to default again and if I walk into a new room it will play the default soundtrack again. Is this a bug or could another mod be causing this to happen?

ztx the 'more custom soundtracks' add-on is designed to do stuff just like that

DeadlyApple that issue is commonly caused by having the AB+ version of MMC when playing on Repentance, basically the issue is that the menu music as removed from the game entirely by some mod, if it's not the wrong version of MMC check your mods to see if you have any that replace the games music list (a music.xml file in a resources folder)

The intro cut scene dialogue plays throughout the main menu even after I skip it, and the main menu music never plays. Does anyone else have this problem?

I was waiting for a soundtrack shuffle mod for such a long time. Thank you for making this.
I got a question, though. I was to shuffle between Rebirth, Antibirth and flash version soundtracks, but I was flash soundtrack to appear only in rooms, which were present in original flash version, I don't want flash tracks to occur in, for example, Burning Basement. Can this be configured somehow? Or maybe you'd consider an option like this? This is the only missing piece for me here.

Mod works great! Only issue is when entering a boss room after the cutscene there is always a pretty loud pop that occurs. Would that be from an incompatible soundtrack mod?

Still getting the issue with Epiphany and this mod. Disabled the Callback mod, and its still happening. I have Repentogon, so it shouldn't be happening, is that right? How do I fix this?

tested it for a bit and seemed fine, switched to MMC/rep+ and the epiphany menu music would restart after a couple seconds (which made sense as MMC uses a timer to check for run intros finishing due to API quirks, it also adds a bit of extra time to account for people with slower pcs and giving music time to load) but otherwise was fine, I was about to ask if you tried checking debug console and disabling other mods but then started a run immediately after loading the epiphany menu and found the issue

when you pick a character the epiphany mod reloads the first floor (which can change its type) this makes soundtrack menu start the floor music, then MMCs timer goes off and it tries to fade in the floor music of the original floor type, which is either the wrong music or already playing, which can cause a bug in the game where fading an audio file over itself sometimes makes it go silent until you play a different song

I'll update MMC to cancel the timer if the epiphany menu is open

It seems like whenever I start a run as a tarnished character from the Epiphany mod, something breaks and the custom music completely either stops working, or just plays the menu music. Very sad :(

are you using MMC or Repentogon? are there any error messages if you open the debug console? have you tried making steam get a fresh download? (unsubscribe, run game until menu loads, check if the mod is still in your mods folder, delete it if it's still there, close the game, resubscribe)

Hello, now i'm not sure if this is just or me, or if it might be my mod setup, but my music rarely... happen's. To elaborate: most of the time when i'm playing the game, the music just won't play for a whole run. I've turned setting's on and off, swapped soundtrack's, and other stuff, but it doesn't seem to work. It's still a good mod, but most of my run's are just complete silence (except for sfx)

Adding on to my previous post. There's been a couple times as well where the boss intro music just doesn't play, which didn't happen before the this update.

So per my previous post, I figured out that custom stage API was the reason my songs would keep resetting when I went into special rooms. That problem is fixed, only now when I enter a special room, the special music for the room plays. Upon leaving the room, the songs continues to play indefinitely until I enter another special room which will then play that music indefinitely throughout the floor.

I also noticed that when entering a new floor the floor intro music plays all the way through and THEN the stage floor music plays, that may be a base game thing though, not sure.

Think I figured out what's happening, I've updated the mod, does the bug still happen if you force steam to download the latest version?
(unsubscribe, delete mod off your computer, run game to title screen, close game, resubscribe)

I had two ideas, not sure how possible they are.
1. Would it be possible to make music tied to progression in achievements / unlocks? Like say, you unlock the alt path so all music changes on the normal path to x since that's a big moment in terms of progression? I saw the mod that ties soundtracks to specific characters so I was curious.

2. What about being able to filter shuffles? Like for instance being able to specify that I want boss theme 1 to shuffle between Rebirth, Antibirth, Flash but I only want Hush to shuffle between Antibirth and Rebirth?

I've been testing in both repentogon and rep+ but it's just not happening for me, I'm gonna need a bit more info, are you using rep+ or repentogon? (if repentogon does opening the debug console and entering 'lua StopJingles()' do anything?) is it a particular type of room or just any with its own music? any errors in the debug console? also could be that you have an older version and might be worth trying deleting your local copy of the mod so steam downloads the latest one

Sometimes when I enter a special room, the music for that room persists across the floor until i toggle soundtracks or enter another room with special music. I am running Stage API but these issues are occurring on vanilla floors.

it's not something the custom floor devs would be able to set up, its more just how stageAPI itself works, I did try some potential workarounds but didn't get any good results, I do have a couple more ideas to try but I kinda doubt they'll work

@Nato Potato That's a shame. Is that something that the other custom floor mods would have to do themselves? Making continuous mode compat with them? I'm mostly wondering because I'm trying to create a seamless experience for my friend's run through isaac and I want to include custom floors (like Mortis) because they genuinely feel official in quality.

open config menu, go to antibirth+++, enable passive mode
if you really need passive mode off you could open antibirth+++ main.lua and delete the code from line 292 to line 313, or you could ask the mod dev to add an option for it in the config menu, they already have options for other alternate music choices so it shouldn't be difficult

oh no I was just saying that the continuous floor music feature can't work while in custom floors, even if you had soundtrack menu music playing in them rather than the floors custom music
(theres a setting for stageAPI in the 'other options' section that sets whether stageAPI or soundtrack menu has priority for playing music)
