@Daemonjax
Thanks!

1) You are correct with the renaming process, I just wanted to make it as easy to understand as possible.
2) The MP3 files are from the CCP Soundcloud Profile and was converted to OGG with audacity. (my headphones are just ordinary Razer Opus THX Certified ANC Headphones)
If you tell me what problem exactly you hearing, I am happy to Update the mod!

Works great. Two notes:

1) data/music/combat and data/music/menu work differently than the others, and the game will simply play whatever's in the folder. The author mentions removing the files from the combat (you can just rename the folder to combat folder itself), but you'll need to actually put the ogg file in the mod's menu folder into the actual one (and rename title.ogg to title.bak or whatever).
Daemonjax 22 Jul, 2024 @ 5:04am
2) the ogg quality isn't the best, and if using high quality headphones you'll probably want to download the soundtrack mp3's from from soundcloud and convert them to ogg using audacity yourself. Then you have to make sure the filenames match what the mod author chose for the filenames -- it helps to use some kind of bulk file renaming tool to: a) replace all spaces in the filename with an underscore character ('_'); and b) to remove all commas from the filename (so two separate renaming steps is easiest).

But other than that, this is a GREAT mod. It works. The track choices are reasonable. And the mod is easily customized (adding/removing tracks) via text editing.

Yea thanks I did a manual install replacing original music and works now
DiabloPower  [author] 6 Jun, 2024 @ 5:22pm
for the most part like every other mod, subscribe and activate in game
for the battle music to work, you need to delete the original one from avorion, otherwise the game ignores the new ones most of the time (not much i can do about it)

How to get this to work?
DiabloPower  [author] 16 Jul, 2022 @ 3:28am
@Larzech
we are not poor, we are rich! We build our own ships instead of flying around with off-the-shelf products! :tgrin:

I can finally experience the poor man's EVE Online. Thanks for this! :steamthis:
Hijack Hornet 23 Jan, 2022 @ 4:02am
Ahh ok thanks
DiabloPower  [author] 23 Jan, 2022 @ 1:49am
Thats exactly what happens when you uncomment the original Tracks in my music.lua script.
Hijack Hornet 22 Jan, 2022 @ 1:17pm
Would it be possible to have both music coexist ? Like 1/2 chance of the original or eve ost ?
DiabloPower  [author] 22 Jan, 2022 @ 12:08pm
It does not delete or override anything, but changes the Musiccollection that is used to the EVE Online tracks. To reenable the Avorion Music, you have to unccoment the original tracks in the music.lua script that comes with my MOD.
Hijack Hornet 22 Jan, 2022 @ 11:36am
Hey
Does it add the music or replace the original one ? Thanks
DiabloPower  [author] 6 Jan, 2021 @ 3:30pm
new Update
had made up a complete new lua file from the original of Avorion, whatever was wrong have to be fine by now

for some reason the title and battlemusic isn't playing at the moment without a manual copy of the files to the Avorion directory, i have no idea why, but i will come back to it in the future
DiabloPower  [author] 6 Jan, 2021 @ 1:44pm
thx will look into it!
Stormbox 6 Jan, 2021 @ 11:49am
Yeah, you might want to check your entire .lua file for errors.

The 690 <eof> end of page error was due to the , at the end of (oldTrackType,
should be (oldTrackType)

But then more errors pop up in other lines.
Stormbox 6 Jan, 2021 @ 11:11am
Just letting you know after your recent update, this error occurs:
Error while adding "data/scripts/lib/music.lua":
data/scripts/lib/music.lua:690: unexpected symbol near <eof>

Thx Linio,

i took your changes after testing a little bit. I realy dont know why at all this happens to you, but to prevent others from the same problem i made an Update to the Mod!
Linio 21 Dec, 2020 @ 1:23pm
Solution found, replace in your music.lua at line:

function combine(t1,t2)
local result = {}

for k, element in pairs(t1) do
result[k] = element
end
for k, element in pairs(t2) do
result[k] = element
end

return result
end
local oldTrackType = TrackType
TrackType = combine(oldTrackType,
{
DiabloPower  [author] 21 Dec, 2020 @ 12:44pm
hmm... will look into it, but not in the next 3 days... to much work....
Linio 21 Dec, 2020 @ 11:21am
Nice mod but after create a new game, i have an error:
#0: MusicCoordinator.onSectorChanged data/scripts/player/client/musiccoordinator.lua
coult not execute function "MusicCoordinator.onSectorChanged" in "data/scripts/player/client/musiccoordinator.lua":
data/scripts/player/client/musiccoordinator.lua: table indes is nil

I tried to correct it but i didn't successed yet.
LePawervitz 25 Sep, 2020 @ 1:23am
Haha I hear you.
Just curious, would a second music mod be able to work together with the first? Could they share the playlist?
And... what if I add the songs myself, to the music folder as .ogg. Would I have to do anything else for them to be included?
DiabloPower  [author] 25 Sep, 2020 @ 12:42am
@LaPawervitz

You don't sound ungrateful and I fully understand your desire.

It is certainly possible to add more tracks to the list. But I only used the ones I personally like.
Those that have been around for many years, the most since the beta of EVE.

Maybe I'll create a second MOD with the newer tracks. But at the moment I don't have time to do that. In my case, Corona does not contribute to more leisure time..... not even in a shutdown sitation.
LePawervitz 24 Sep, 2020 @ 2:12am
In many games I often end up disabling music, it simply gets to much the same.
This however gave the game a very nice feel. I played eve for 8 years, so nice nostalgia.

But in fear of sounding ungrateful....

Could you increase the amount of tracks? I know theres many more to choose from.
JetFly 9 Jun, 2020 @ 6:50am
yaaay eve music
DiabloPower  [author] 9 Jun, 2020 @ 12:02am
it is dynamic, like the original game
JetFly 7 Jun, 2020 @ 5:30pm
is it dynamic? does music change when you enter a fight or you just slapped the music files into the game?
Revy106 2 Jun, 2020 @ 6:10am
ah dam yeah Star ocean 4 would be awesome
DiabloPower  [author] 10 Mar, 2020 @ 1:44am
possibly, but, it is a copyright nightmare!

with EVE there are no such problems
-first of all CCP is a nice Comany that had released there tracks as mp3 on the internet themselfs
-secondly Enix (or now Square Enix) tend do be a bit more selfish when it comes to there work of art
-and last but not least, i dont own a coyp of the music at all

but if you communicate with square enix and get permission to do so and get me a copy of the music files, then i will gladly invest my time and make a Star Ocean Music mod

can you please make a star ocean one
