FYI to anyone visiting this page: This mod still works with 4.X as of today. You load the 4.0 version of Trait Diversity and then this mod, and it works.

Found the solution, you have to fully have the mod unsubbed and off of the games files and then resub

Having a slight download issue where the traits end up breaking and becoming "Trait_id_" and missing all descriptions. Not entirely sure what to do as I've recently tried to unsubscribe then resubscribe.

@Orange1861, can confirm, when using Machine and Robot Expansion, I am unable to get the Excellent Trait to show, I am also using "! The Merger of Rules". No combination of load order seems to work.

The Excellent trait is not showing up for machine empires or synths. Also, could you add a Perfect/other traits variants for synth/robot pops?

without trait diversity it just lacks flavour text, i dont know if it's meant to be incompatible with vanilla but i like the variety and handicap challenges without needing a mod with 3 billion traits, very good mod :steamthumbsup:

Note, I see below someone is commenting about robot pops not assembling, I don't build robot pops these days so I don't know if thats an issue.

For the record (and please don't change this), this does work without trait diversity. I don't use trait diversity and this works perfectly.

I have determined that this mod is preventing my robot pops from assembling in my empire. Is there a patch or fix I can do?

First i hated this mod, it's too easy to get free points. But when you look at this as an extra handicap. Something to increase or decrease difficulty, it's pretty great.

@The Adersary. It does work as a standalone. Least for me it does and i have no other mods installed since Lem patch. Redoing it all, this was first and it works. Used it pre Lem as Standalone also

I was wondering if you could also make a trait, or seperate mod that increases the amount of trait picks you have. Right now you can only get so many traits and it's a puzzle to figure out what traits you want without wasting any points.

@The Adversary there's another mod that is standalone and does the same thing. It's a little OP in my opinion though but you can just edit the text files and put the mod files directly in your Stellaris Mod folder

I completely forgot that this mod could be used by auto-generating AI empires. It's just completely ruined my latest game, as one AI empire used it to have endgame level tech by 2290. Ulp.

Addendum: Having the Machine trait doesn't seem to remove the Perfect/Failure/etc. traits, or allow the Scrap/Excellent options.

Also wanted to ask, is it possible to add a trait that allows you to get more picks? Like a trait that costs -1 pick points to take?

Noticed that the traits appear to not be using their names or descriptions properly, dunno if this is a mod conflict with Additional Traits and Species Diversity; but neither of those mods are having the issue that this mod is.

Yeah, that used to not be possible (limiting trait picks) -- but if it somehow is, that would be great. Otherwise I have to go in and code my custom empires still. It's more fun (and easier) doing it in the interface.

I also don't like them having it because they could severely mess themselves up or not show any restraint at all and make an OP empire and just dominate.

Yea I believe the AI uses it unfortunately. I saw an empire in my game a couple days ago that was using one of the extremely negative traits which was kind of annoying because it only had adaptive as a positive trait and everything else was crap. Kind of annoying. Would rather the AI's not be able to use them simply because when I play, I don't make an empire super OP and then massacre everything. I do it for role play reasons, such as making Mandalorians which I make extremely physically strong because of army damage and apparently you can only have a strong and effective army if everyone is ripped. Then I gave them adaptive because Mandalorians are very adaptive fighters. I then gave them intelligent because Mandalorians are pretty smart and ingenious and are Humans and as such have many of the same traits.

I once saw a similar mod that Ranged from -64 Trait points to 64 trait points per trait. This is not cheaty. THAT was cheaty.
