again, I believe I heard this secondhand, but you're free to give it a shot.
I heard Seaal Mid had a method for making C_Hands work that involved making the original hands invisible and then having the original hands "puppet" the C_Hand bones.
2. There is a file in a decompiled .mdl file. This is a QC file, it lets you manipulate some things about the model before compiling the model.
