@tazarbill Because the AI will generally just spam them if not capped
tazarbill 12 Oct, 2022 @ 3:32pm
Just curious why the AI is not allowed to summon more tier 4?
Fonzosh 18 Dec, 2021 @ 12:30am
Same here, I only play occasionally with friends, but almost allways competitive (since the AI is a walkover)

Well, I'm always up for some new twists on how the game plays!

Would you like to see my unlisted mods? Most of my major mods aren't listed, and you may find them interesting.
Daverin2112 12 Dec, 2021 @ 4:13pm
Only the occasional play with a friend of mine. So far, always been coop against AI.
Draco Dej  [author] 12 Dec, 2021 @ 11:16am
A question for you, Daverin. Do you do multiplayer? If so, do you prefer cooperative or competitive?
Daverin2112 11 Dec, 2021 @ 8:16am
Ya know, glutton works pretty well. Even with the blight part, like you said, it still can thematically fit. And it certainly otherwise is statistically a good fit.
Draco Dej  [author] 10 Dec, 2021 @ 9:43pm
The Earth Element primarily deals with solid material, connecting itself to solid matter. On the other hand, many games and fantasy worlds tend to lump earth and acid together, with poison an venom remaining a blighting element. With this idea in mind, The glutton may be a valid Earth summon. I do like your idea of the Phoenix and the Bone Dragon. Best of all, since they are currently secret avatar spells, I will not need to do much work to add these.
Daverin2112 7 Dec, 2021 @ 8:41am
So actually, due to another thought of mine... por que no los dos? Currently, 3 of the 4 elements have two tier 4s. Destruction, I think, could be a good place to allow for summoning a bone dragon, who I am sure plenty of "classic ebil" necromancer players would love to have easier access to, and probably is within the same range as the other double summons. I could definitely understand if you feel that the Golden Dragon in particular is enough, but if you wanted to go for two summons per spec, I bet a GD and a Phoenix is a good pair.

Only problem is I cannot think of a good second Earth summon for the life of me...

Very well, Golden Dragon stays. The update should be here by the end of the week. Thank you for your replies.

First off, this is awesome, thanks for this mod!

As far as Phoenix vs Gold Dragon, I'd definitely admit the Phoenix feels VERY on point thematically, and probably is more in line with the other creatures. BUT, Creation also kinda sorta maybe warrants the dragon because it A) doesn't have any other summon without another mod, and B) also fits into the lineup by emphasizing a strong, beefy unit to further benefit from Creation buffs. Whereas the others often have powerful debuffs or damage spells, Creation would then get it's most active offensive power in the form of the dragon.

Also, as Fonzosh pointed out, the Phoenix does have some very powerful abilities itself, whereas the dragon's claim to fame, mostly, is being THE beefiest unit.

I dunno, I think both fit. I suspect the lean-to will be for dragon, just because it feels so awesome to have access to those.

I must say that I think that Phoenix, because of its raising ability, is almost stronger than the Gold dragon. This because of the fire breathing being more powerful than the spirit breath.

Hello, everyone. This mod is being (somewhat) brought back from the dead, with two changes and a question for the users of the mod.

Changes:
The Summon Giant spells will have the proper icon
Lord of the Deep will be added to Mastery of Water.

Now the question. Should the tier 4 summon for Mastery of Creation, the Golden Dragon, be replaced by the Phoenix? The Phoenix, compared to the Golden Dragon, is cheaper but weaker, still immune to fire and spirit, and can be buffed with savage rage.

There are about 1-2 weeks before the update comes, so I would like to hear your opinions on the topic.
Fonzosh 30 Oct, 2020 @ 10:09am
Found the culprit?
Fonzosh 22 Oct, 2020 @ 10:22am
Nope, only 24 mods (everything with Empire building, even legendary units) and a Forge mod ans some minor things like neutralize mana node and the like.

I just rechecked my mod. The only spell that was edited and not added was the obsidian dragon's secret spell, which it turns out I messed up anyway, so it spawns from buildings regardless. I will have to fix that, but any that mod doesn't appear to affect this. I looked up everything they changed, and nothing I saw mentioned the obsidian dragon's secret spell. If it is an unlisted change, it will have to be fixed on their end.

It is possible for the game to have problems if more than 30 modules (mods and/or dlc) are loaded at a time. This is especially prevalent in multiplayer. Do you have more than 30 loaded right now?
Draco Dej  [author] 21 Oct, 2020 @ 10:31pm
I can't see what would be wrong with empire building. This mod changes nothing in anything other than specializations. Does that mod change the adept and masteries?
Fonzosh 19 Oct, 2020 @ 3:15am
I would love to have this mod in my game, but it doesnt seem to be working with Empire Building. Is there a possibility of an update or is the mod dead?

Yeah, I think explorer has uses on big maps but I find Cartographer to be not at all useful on tiny maps since by the time I can research it, most of the map has already been explored. So I guess for smaller maps; Explorer doesn't scale well and there aren't a lot of non-magic, non-alignment based specializations for players trying to do minimal or no magic playstyles.

Partisan is kinda cool but the fact that the spell will fail most of the time on most enemies just because the Magic Strength is 11 and anyone with 11 Magic Resistance has a solid chance to resist just makes it a weaker spell in the late game that doesn't affect most units with decent magic resistance.
Draco Dej  [author] 30 Aug, 2020 @ 9:47am
I don't have Golden Realms, so I haven't used Partisan, but I find Explorer to be the best specialization in the game, due to Master Cartographer. It becomes laughable when I can march directly into an enemy capital without having ever seen it. Explorer wins me games. Expander is decent for warlords, though the only two truly useful perks are Fertility Rites and Expansionism.
Commander Red Vega 13 Aug, 2020 @ 11:46am
I feel like there is never any mods or consideration for the tacticals like Expander, Explorer, or Partisan.
Fonzosh 20 May, 2020 @ 8:28am
This one looks nice. I will test it in my next PBEM
Draco Dej  [author] 11 Jan, 2020 @ 11:34am
Having never used these mods, I can't confirm, but I would imagine so. The only way I can see the mods failing to work together is if both of our mods modify the same modding tile to add our spells.
TLDR: They will likely work together.

Hello good sir - I'd like to give this a try, as I've very recently been adding mods to enhance my game, particularly adding new spells. Do you know if this is compatible (or incompatible) with any mods? I recently added the PBeM, Empire Builder, Secret Spells, and a few others that I'd like to also keep running.
