@Emmalove <3 - I've retested all the assets (with and without the addon mods) and not been able to recreate the issue. If you want to test it in new free game with no other mods enabled that will show if it's another mod causing the issue.

sooo i just got an error consirning this mod with the GWR 5plank wagon's asset being missing, i dont know yet if theres anouther mod causeing it to be missing or if its an issue with the mod its self

@Nicolai Maximov - Thanks. I'm not sure what would be needed to support those non-standard cargo types or whether that would then causes issues if that mod wasn't installed. Visually the covered wagons would ok, but the others would need new code for visually different loads.

Thank you, very nice waggons, I am using them a lot ingame. Unfortunately the appear to be emtpy when using Industry expanded mod and loading one of the added cargo types. Anything you can do?

@CT Tech Gaming - That file is in this mod. But it is only used by the separate addon mod 'British Railway Companies' : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1943222065
So both need to be enabled. Possibly this mod needs load before the addon in the load order.

Been having an issue with the mod. tried reinstalling it but keeps say this file is not found:
"res/models/mesh/vehicle/train/gwr-open-waggon/jk_gwr-open-waggon_body-4plank-c-lms.msh"

@OneGameyStew - I've not been able to replicate this issue, both 4-plank versions are working as expected for me with the additional cargos. It could if you have a cargo or capacity mod of some sort that it is affect this one.

The 4-plank wagon can only carry coal, iron, stone and grain in my game despite it saying here that it carries everything except logs and liquids

for some reason this mod crashes my game :(

@JK alright, fiar enough. I figured as much. It's a shame to to have to have a mismatch of couplers between loco and wagon, but its not game breaking and I can live with it. Thanks for your response! I love your mods and cant wait for any future mods you might have planned!

@PITSteelers - Thanks. Realistically the GWR didn't really have much large wagons of this type for general freight. So whilst I would have liked to have had more of a progression to longer bogie wagons, like the vanilla items, it wouldn't be very realistic for the setting.

I love the way your wagons look as well as the way they pair with your and Grim's locos, but with these open wagons specifically, I am having a hard time justifying using these over the second tier vanilla gondola cars available in the american vehicles theme. The 7-plank open wagon loads slower and has a smaller capacity than the vanilla gondola, but costs almost 200k more to buy per wagon. I also visually prefer the use of fewer longer and larger individual wagons over more but smaller wagons as the date progresses in game, but the long C wagon capacity means you need a very long train to get a decent cargo capacity. Do you plan on adding a longer 7-plank wagon that would have a capacity larger than at least the short 7-plank wagon, and perhaps larger than the 2nd tier gondola, giving us a wagon that would have a competitive edge for longer?

@JK - Ah, OK. Not to worry, I've found a way of doing a bit of text filtering on the stdout file. Many thanks for the reply.
JK  [author] 8 Dec, 2020 @ 10:53am
@roypeterfrancis - Thanks. I hadn't noticed it myself, but it looks like it's because I've used the legacy TpF1 methods and so the game uses a converter, which outputs its progress to the log. I'm not aware of any controls for this. You could try asking in the forum or go directly to Urban Games.

@JK - I've subbed to this and a number of other JK mods, and I think they're wonderful. But - they do seem to squirt great reams of text into the stdout.txt. I don't think they're errors, just lists of mesh filenames.
My questions are:
1. Is this normal/intended?
2. Is it required, or can I turn it off?
The reason is that I'm trying to sort out some other troublesome mods, and I'd like a shorter error list to look at :)
In any case, great work, much liked.

I've now updated this with 4-plank Open C (long) waggons with randomised custom load indicators. Plus GWR 5-plank versions now have grain in sacks instead of loose/bulk. The sheeted version is now uncovered when empty.

@Class Conciousness - Thanks. Once the developers add support for custom loads (like in TpF1, which I understand is coming), I'll be adding in the 4-plank C version (from my previous mod), which does construction materials.
Floyd 26 Apr, 2020 @ 4:43am
would love a version that carried construction materials, but lovely mod nonetheless. I'm play a north american map but these are perfect for pausing the game early and building a pre 20th century rail network. Thanks :steamhappy:

@Sparky66 - Probably not everything. But I'm thinking doing ones that carry more than the standard. In TpF1 the 4-plank C version (not yet included here), carried stone, slag and construction materials (allowing back haul). I'm thinking of doing it this time as stone, construction materials, steel (tubes) and maybe goods, tools, machines. I don't currently know how to do custom load indicators (or if it's currently possible). And BTW, good effort with all your mods!
Sparky66 25 Dec, 2019 @ 1:30am
Would you consider a version that can carry anything, since IRL these wagons carried pretty much anything that would fit in them.
ferryfarmhouse 22 Dec, 2019 @ 9:53am
thanks so much for these jk much love for these trucks
Moofrog 22 Dec, 2019 @ 7:45am

This has been a must-have of mine since I first bought TpF1, so Im really happy to see it back. Cheers for bringing this to TpF2.
