heya silver, this comment is unrelated to the mod. found a planet mod that fu er incorperated called wasteland planets mod crumbling away on nexus. bringing it to your attention as i know there was a list somewhere showing all the mods fu hooverd up and diddnt see it on there and thought it should be added to the list if it came first... sorry for any pita this caused feel free to delete this message.

You probably have a mod that overwrites the tech GUI instead of patching it--
Here, try entering this sequence of commands into Starbound's chat:
/admin
/maketechavailable xrc_hermesboots
/maketechavailable xrc_rocketboots
/maketechavailable xrc_spectreboots
/admin

The one at the outpost? That's the one I've been using.

Use the vanilla tech menu. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you'll have to use admin commands. I can't get the ID's at the moment, unfortunately.

as of journey's end, it is *possible* to get 7 slots, 6 because start of master mode, and 7 because after wof in master mode.

nvm it lifts to the height of what the actual Rocket Boots would be.
I uninstalled a movement tweak that also increased fall speed and now I can use the Rocket Boots without gravity augments. However, I suggest making it so the strength of the rocket will change depending on the gravity (The more gravity the higher the force, the less gravity the weaker the force)

are you holding the jump button down and have fuel? what's the gravity of the planet you're on?

I tried the Rocket Boots Tech without any gravity changing armor and no augments, and the Rocket Boots rarely lifts me up (doesn't even slow my fall). Also, the height you can cover with the Rocket/Spectre boots and low-gravity augment is insane (from the surface of a planet to the sky), might wanna nerf the fuel and boost the strength....

Ahh, completely forgot that the Lighning Boots was a speed upgrade to the Spectre Boots....... as well as the existence of the Spectre Boots

I'd make it use the Spectre Boots script, but with a passive speed modifier
