@lucasmaier431 It's intended to switch at each map change, although it is possible¹ to force the game to always use the one you prefer.

¹It requires decompiling the files out of the .VPK, some trial-and-error with the .VMT files' selection methods, and recompiling a new .VPK for the game to use, but it's still possible.

@awesomeepicpilot: Short answer: No; Long answer with explanation: Yes, but it would require porting models and anims over from the AK, which I've never gotten to work successfully.

[Addendum] It's a quick hack, but making sure the Particles Manifest occurs in your "Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addonlist.txt" before the SCAR's entry will make the game use the PM version instead.

@以太不闪火sad & @Moh4wk: I've tinkered with the sound a bit- it should now be fixed and no longer glitchy / requires using 'snd_rebuildaudiocache' in the console. As for the conflict with the Particles Manifest, I'm going to have to investigate whether they can be used side-by-side. Urik's documentation in the PM makes it sound unlikely, which will require some recompile work to make the SCAR no longer use custom particles [per my current understanding of how it works].

Hey, I'm having issues with this mod whenever it reloads, it seems to be conflicting with the 'The Particles Manifest' Mod. If you get the chance, I would really appreciate if you can see if there's anything you could do about the sound. Thanks :)

There is a problem with the sound, especially when reloading, but in general it is a good mod:steamhappy:

@૮ ・ ﻌ・აge: My understanding is that the only visible differences between the -L and -H versions of the SCAR are the magwell's shape and the magazine inside it. I figured this was a low-enough priority to not make the switch and just kept it as is, sorry.

Hey barrage. Is there anyway to get MRNG between SCAR-L and SCAR-H ? I really prefer that way because the damage of desert rifle is 44 which lies in between 5.56 from M16 and 7.62 (sadly not more than AK47) I just want variants in only desert rifle slot

@KazDro: I would suggest moving the .VPK file out of wherever it currently is into the Addons directory instead, to see if snd_updateaudiocache would affect it there. You playing this on a macbook means I have no knowledge of whether that would work, though.

Oh, and I'm on a macbook. So apparently things in the workshop folder apparently need 'modified permissions' for the audio files on them to be updated with that console command. I tried the command both in the menu and in-game, and it didn't change a thing. Your other two Rifle RNG mods work fine, but this one's just not.

@KazDro: Make sure you've run "snd_updateaudiocache" in the developer console after getting the .VPK into the Addons folder. I spent the past hour trying to track down the issue and would get screeching at different points in the reload animation, even after updating the cache a few times. Presently, there's no screeching at all even though none of the files changed, so I blame the game's sound-handling ability.
Try running the command once at the main menu, then try a test run to see if it persists, then run the command in-game and try again.

Reloading audio has a sharp scratch/screech upon removing the magazine.

i was wondering if its possible to do that but instead of attachments rng, the gun itself its rng, like every map you play the scar model itself its diferent, i think that would be super dope, but this ain't a request tho, its more of question, i just wanna know if its possible.

Judging by the magazine it looks more like a short 5.56 mag than a 7.62, thus it may ba a SCAR-L.
