Once I had a training set of names, I then made a set of names up myself that sounded like culture names, because there simply aren't enough names in the culture series to satisfy the needs of a game like this.
Once I had this set of names, I used that to train an AI as to what I expected. This was not a "push a button" experience. I also spent 40+ hours of my time, for free, writing code that would translate the names into 9 languages so that people all over the world could use my name lists.
So no, I didn't download your names and put them into my name list. I didn't need to. It would be nice if, in spending all this time thinking about this, you also reached out and had a conversation.
The reason being; each and every one on my list are from an actual person, just like every Ship name in the books is from Iain M. Banks himself. These have a meaning, even if it's just a meatbag behind the curtain.
Pushing a button and getting a thousand names is not effort; it is pushing a button. You are taking a helicopter to the top of the mountain and asking me why I'm breathing so hard and carrying an ice axe.
I don't mind you building a list, but not with my names, thank you.
I'll plug back in and get things up-to-date.

For a taste, here's some examples the AI invented: One Last Stab For The Fun Of It, This Isn't Your Big Chance, The Dead Don't Get Stalked, Ambivalent On Utopian Visions, Please Don't Eat The Garbage, Shiny Things In A Big Box, The Incompleat, All The Good News Goes To Hell, Enigmatic Interlude, Irritation Of Authority, Useless Gestures Are Appreciated, Abandon All Hoopla, Bad Luck To Destroy Me
@JerichoJade, @xika - the NSC2 adaption is working.
Btw, killing the mod description with each submission is not only a problem here. I make maps for They are Billions and after each update I have to fix the description in the workshop.
We'll let Microsoft destroy our hopes and dreams, as nature intended.
(I just wanted to ask before I start a new game.)
If you haven't: I've looked into it a bit and it seems that one fast (not perfect) solution would be to fill out the generic group for ship_name and ship_class.
NSC is mod. New Ship Classes. It adds stuff like dreadnoughts, flagships, and other stuff.
I'm not sure what that is. If it has any relation to Ironman mode you are out of luck- there's nothing a namelist can do to work with it.
@MayhemX8
I feel a bit ashamed to admit this, but I'm not much into Foundation... I've been trying but it just doesn't grab me enough. Possibly because there are not enough explosions.
I will update it to 2.7 shortly, but this list will work fine with new versions even so. Names lists are very simple files and don't really change from version to version, save to 2.6 when Paradox stopped commas from ruining my life.
Cheers!
Alternately, check the rest of your list and see if it corrected itself. At this point anything is possible.
