yeah you need episode 1 then go to games at the bottom right and scroll until you see it then tick ot

here a quick tutorial to get the real half life ep1
[1 go to the main menu]
[2 find the games button not the start new game button]
[3 make sure you have half life ep1

I won't download this mod to test it but there is a option in the settings to turn on subtitles, maybe it's english?
