At present there's no plans to retexture anything as HW3 is right around the corner!
Closest thing in the mod is the "Ship Gallery" game mode, you can access it from the skirmish screen
Axanar.
Sadly it got curb stomped.
Sigh. At least ST seems to come back every 10-15 years? We should get another chance some time around 2035 or so.

With the current version I tried deathmatch with every starting fleet and Invasion mode as the Terran Empire. It all worked for me. I need more detail from you before I can help sorry

This is the exact line for you
if (mod(dateDay,2) == 0) and (mod(dateMonth,2) ~= 0) or (mod(dateDay,2) ~= 0) and (mod(dateMonth,2) == 0) then...
So it's a combination, if it's an even numbered day on an odd numbered month it'll show or if it's an odd numbered day on an even numbered month.
It checks the date, and if it's an odd day (or even day? I forget) then the planet killer spawns!
It's been awhile since I played this mod, and must say I'm pretty pleased with how it's updated in that absence!
I already answered these points on the other mod, they're equally applicable here
1. The ships leave no debris behind when they were destroyed
2. the mods are not compatible with other map paks
