If I get difficulty +1 will it get my max level to 45 or it will be stuck at 40?

It only increases the heroes' max level to level 40. Your squad/troop/army max level remains at level 20. Tested on v1.0.3 update 2022-6-16

Can someone tell me if 1) This still works? and 2) Does this also increase regular squad's (grunts) lvs to 40 as well as heroes? I'd use the 100 cap mod except i think that would render regular troops completely obsolete.
