is there a way to tell prof. oak to F off and enable that?
It's such a laughably simple cut-paste-and-trim job, that it would be virtually impossible for anyone to mess it up, even myself. Regardless, I'm going to wait until one of my friends can hop into a game with me- just so I can confirm that it definitely, undoubtedly, DOES actually work as intended- before I make it 'Public'.
I guess it will be handy for anyone who happens to think letting unarmed players 'push' each-other around is funny, but it's specifically intended to complement your Throwable Crowbar- so I'll be linking to this add-on in my own add-on's description (assuming I'm not profoundly challenged, and it does actually work as intended).
In spite of the distant, anguished pleas for mercy that I’m picking up from a few of my regulars, it really is about time. The next time our town of terror is troubled by, uh… Well, the usual troubles; I’ll be glad to remember that the Newton Launcher (among many other things) is finally worth half a damn again.
And then I’ll smack into the pavement with a sickening crunch, and smile, as all fades to black.
tl;dr, throwable crowbar is working in TTT2- nice job. Uprated, and favourited for good measure.
And I- really- couldn’t- possibly- give any less of a shit. That’s how pleased I really am to finally be closing the book on our ugly-ass, jury-rigged two-crowbar workaround.
If I don’t find any workable substitute for the default crowbar’s shove alt-fire on the Workshop, at all, then I’ll open up Notepad++ and write the fucking thing myself. I don’t care. It doesn’t matter. “TTT Crowbar to throwable Crowbar” is now comfortably seated in our add-on collection for TTT, and let me tell you, it is not going anywhere any time soon.
You're a star, Gengar, and I really do mean that. You’re a pillar of the Steam Community in the most real sense of the phrase.
This is an awful amount of fuss for one server host to be making over just a single melee slot, and a crowbar whose raison d'être is to be discarded at the earliest moment that it becomes even remotely amusing for a player to do so- but I want to make sure you understand, to the best of my ability, precisely how you unknowingly exceeded my every expectation, and how pleasant it really was for me to read your comment back and discover that.
Next, pleasure: This will be my third time typing up this comment (or “these comments”, I should say). The first time, I was ready to post, and I guess I accidentally closed the tab. The second time, just as I was pondering where to carve away the pound of flesh to bring myself down to one-thousand characters or fewer, my computer saw fit to shut itself down for reasons unknown, in what I can only assume was a direct challenge being made by my hardware, to my perseverance and sense of priority.
Far, far more important than the fact that this add-on does what I wanted it to, is the knowledge that all you needed to say to me was that this add-on is designed to replace the default crowbar, and I would have been perfectly satisfied. I'm fairly sure you knew that already.
(On a side-note, what's the control to throw your version of the crowbar?)
A little context: we run TTT2 on our server, which is only relevant to my question because it means I can easily adjust limits for each weapon slot. We currently have to keep the melee sot limit on "2", instead of "1", for reasons which will become clear in a moment.
The add-on for throwable crowbars we currently use is [ https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=658116030 ] which, annoyingly, is only partially-effective.
It seems that throwable crowbar will never occupy my players' first melee slot. The first slot always contains a default crowbar- though the throwable crowbar turns up in melee slot "2" (or higher) without issue.
The ugly workaround we're using is to give each player two melee slots, so everyone starts with two crowbars. One for throwing (second melee slot), one for keepin' (first melee slot).
