I'm surprised that Animated Antenna Dishes (rotating, with adjustable elevation) isn't a thing yet!
Molten Carnage 5 Jan, 2023 @ 7:37am
Good sir, I understand that this mod was made quite some time ago; but with all the other animated function block now being made, would it not make sense to collaborate all of them into one piece of work?
xTRACKERx 8 Oct, 2022 @ 8:03am
great :-) exactly what im searching for after the animated gyros^^ <3

This or something similar needs to be in the base game. Dependency handling and ordering is also a major issue when adding mods to a world, which can be handled by the Steam dependency listing, or offloaded to the mod developers with ModAPI support.

Also, this may conflict with other mods including Deep Space Antennas.

Нужна антенна такая же как маленькая на 2 куба, но для большого грида
Kerry 25 Aug, 2020 @ 3:47pm
Yeah, man! This is so cool!

But the DLC antenna dish definitely needs something like this. A very slow rotational speed, something that fits with the size of the dish.
Kerry 25 Aug, 2020 @ 3:46pm
Yeah, man! This is so cool!

But the DLC antenna dish definitely needs something like this.
Gromit 25 Aug, 2020 @ 8:37am
@Jik Pics: read the description.. There a version that provides new blocks and not replacement of the vanilla ones..
Jik 25 Aug, 2020 @ 7:27am
I love the blinking lights, but the small grid antenna rotation can get annoying with how some antennas get tucked into block work. Could we see a version that adds everything except the rotation?
Delta4Phoenix 19 Jun, 2020 @ 2:17am
Can you add something like this for the antenna dish? I wish it had a bit more substance to it, especially when put next to these...
Parszywy Lisi Bobek 3 Jun, 2020 @ 5:47am
How about animated warning beacons for industrial vehicles? Just different shape of vanilla rotating light
PredatorBeing 11 May, 2020 @ 5:35am
Great, now I want the top of the ore detector to rotate to, but at a different speed. The same speed would just look silly. Hint Hint
Vloka the Owl 29 Apr, 2020 @ 5:46pm
Gotta say, absolutely love this! I love seeing the small antenna going round and round as I drive... though I constantly forget that the large antenna does not have lights normally XD

"You ruined my game man! RUINED FOREVER!!!" (j/k) :steamhappy:

@KptKosmit Having broadcasting off and the antenna turned off makes the emissives yellow, not red as I would've expected based on the description. Is that intended behavior? I would've thought it'd be:

if off:
__RED
else:
__if broadcasting:
____GREEN
__else:
____YELLOW

Whereas the current behavior seems to be:
if NOT broadcasting:
__YELLOW
else:
__if off:
____RED
__else:
____GREEN

Does that make sense?

Fucking epic, why the hell did not keen do this allready?
Starry 4 Apr, 2020 @ 12:56am
guys, for fucks sake READ DOWN. This is just an animation added to the vanilla blocks, your ships will be fine if you take the mod out.
Firedrake_13 3 Apr, 2020 @ 10:41am
As far as I know Darth, this is true of ALL Modded blocks. If you have them in a blueprint and then use that BP in a world where those blocks don't exist then those blocks can't be drawn by the BP. The games doesn't have any system for replaceing modded blocks in BP with their vanilla counterparts. That's why when you load BP with a modded block you get a popup asking if you're sure you want to do this as it may not work. Having said that, and having done it a few times with defferent mods, it's usually not a big deal to just build in the vanilla piece.
Hypogriph 29 Mar, 2020 @ 10:53am
I have the same concern as Darth Crunchus. Not sure if i want to break my BP for a small animation.
ChozoSR388 28 Mar, 2020 @ 6:52pm
Question. If I move a blueprint with this mod to a world or server without the mod, is that going to require one to have to rebuild the antenna? I had this problem with a similar mod, which replaced vanilla gyroscopes with an animated version; when pasting or projecting a grid with the modded animated gyro in a world without the mod, the gyroscopes were removed entirely, rather than being replaced with their vanilla, non-animated counterparts.
Streem 23 Mar, 2020 @ 5:52pm
Woaw
Voss 20 Mar, 2020 @ 5:26am
planning to implement that for the DLC dish as well?
there seems to be a small position light on top of the subreflector assembly
Voric 11 Mar, 2020 @ 4:11pm
I love it! Thank you for this mod!!
-=KptKosmit91=-  [author] 6 Mar, 2020 @ 3:21pm
@Butterslingshot from what I tested there is almost no additional lag from this
Stardust 6 Mar, 2020 @ 11:42am
I know this makes literally no sense and just causes more lag, but I love it so much......
Starry 23 Feb, 2020 @ 10:11am
yes but it looks cool
Ryunoske 22 Feb, 2020 @ 11:12pm
But...antennas do not need to rotate, they are not radars
gpedro178 10 Feb, 2020 @ 1:16pm
Great mod, it simple but improve aesthetics so much
Mr.Zombie 9 Feb, 2020 @ 10:19pm
Since this replaces the vanilla blocks, will it replace existing antennae and if I ever have to unsub for some reason, will ships made with this mod use the vanilla antennae?
Fvracer_x 1 Feb, 2020 @ 1:10pm
Simple and I love it, great mod!
AenesidemusOZ 19 Jan, 2020 @ 10:41pm
twinbrowm2002 - This version replaces the vanilla antennas in-game; the new block version adds the antennas as extra blocks, not affecting the vanilla blocks in-game. Does that help?
Corleogne 19 Jan, 2020 @ 1:45pm
Your showing two mods (one Block and this one). Which one do I subscribe too? I'm not sure I'm loading this correctly. Do I need to find it in the Programmable? I'm running Isy's Solar Program (mod) just fine.
Kam Solastor 18 Jan, 2020 @ 9:09pm
I'll note I do use the camera panning mod, but without the animated antennas, it works without issue
-=KptKosmit91=-  [author] 18 Jan, 2020 @ 4:39pm
@Kam Solastor Can't reproduce that on my end
Kam Solastor 18 Jan, 2020 @ 3:49pm
For some reason, when I add this, it makes cameras viewpoints move back about a half-foot, putting them into the base or the block behind them, and rendering them useless
AenesidemusOZ 17 Jan, 2020 @ 6:46pm
This a great mod. So simple, but it adds depth. Nice one. :steamhappy:
T.W.K.II 17 Jan, 2020 @ 2:45pm
NICE! Would have thought the dev's would have done this a long time ago, but nope good work man!
Chad 17 Jan, 2020 @ 9:59am
This is so damn great. Thank you!
Omega_DET5 16 Jan, 2020 @ 5:09pm
Excellent!
Mojo 16 Jan, 2020 @ 3:31am
Nice. Thumbs up given before I even use it!
-=KptKosmit91=-  [author] 15 Jan, 2020 @ 12:05pm
@chfish yes, NeonDrip aksed what an antenna does in vanilla if broadcasting is off
chfish 15 Jan, 2020 @ 11:57am
@fyrebird721 thats intended, thats vanilla
Aid 14 Jan, 2020 @ 6:41pm
A subtle change but a fantastic touch of detail. Thanks
Skallabjorn 14 Jan, 2020 @ 9:19am
whats next - I suggest reactors where the lights on them cycle / fade yellow-orange-red-orang-yellow when on, dark / black when off?
[ARMCO] Fyrebird721 14 Jan, 2020 @ 8:06am
when an antenna is off, i can no longer send or receive signals of any kind, if only broadcasting is off, then it can only receive signals
-=KptKosmit91=-  [author] 14 Jan, 2020 @ 6:25am
Oh you mean what it does in vanilla @NeonDrip if broadcasting is off, don't know that actually tbh, it might still receive signals but not send them. not sure
-=KptKosmit91=-  [author] 14 Jan, 2020 @ 6:20am
@Starry/Solly the animations will just stop, no blocks will get removed

@NeonDrip yup, the lights are yellow when broadcasting is off, and the antenna doesn't blink then
NeonDrip 14 Jan, 2020 @ 12:47am
@Fyrebird721 i think you misunderstood, i dont mean this mod i mean antenna in genaral, what use is an antenna that isent broadcasting?
also there yellow when on with broadcasting off not green
[ARMCO] Fyrebird721 13 Jan, 2020 @ 11:52pm
@NeonDrip the Small Grid just rotates, and they both have their emissives glowing green when on
Planewalker 13 Jan, 2020 @ 11:06pm
Slick
