There are no errors, and I know it's an issue with this mod, because if I deconstruct the drop spot or if I disable the mod itself then I get the items I trade for just fine (aside from not being able to control where they go of course)

It works fine for me, make sure your games are actually starting up without any errors. 1.6 update broke a lot of mods and startup issues from 1 mod can cascade to other mods.

Additionally when I completed an orbital trade, it took all the items I offered but only gave some of the items I bought from the trader

Doesn't seem like the drop spot is working even though I have my drop spot in the open. I don't see any errors though so I'm not sure what's going on.

Yea I removed it for 1.6 since it was unused but I'll leave it for prior versions. Latest update should fix your error (though it's harmless)

generally yes. if the games uses a drop pod to get you something, then it will be directed toward a drop spot.

only exception is when a random gift is sent via drop pod. that is usually random somewhere on the map.

@T.N.Tobin - is your beacon in a pen? beacons do not work in pens.
this mod does not fix that default rimworld behavior.

This doesnt work at all. Not once did it drop it where i wanted it to, in fact it keeps dropping it in the same area as before. i even moved it around... not once...

Could you perchance make this compatible with Biomes! Caverns? That mod has it's own drop pods for underground delivery, but they ignore the drop spot and probably use vanilla behavior.

@LordXamon maybe it is because you want to have the drop pods land in an animal pen, is that so? Animal pens can't have pods drop in them, make a little non pen area fenced of where you want your pods to land.

For some reason, the drop spot stops working after a while. It doesn't /seem/ to be related to pens, because it isn't in a pen. Unless if a pen losing a fence temporarily makes everything count as a pen?? Basically. We make a roofless room in the colony, and put the drop spot in there. It's within a bigger wall of the colony. Sometimes attached to other rooms, sometimes not. Also seen when just is inside that colony wall. Seems to work for some number of hours, but then things start landing outside the colony wall. All around the colony, not nearby the spot. Does this sound like the pen issue? Sorry if this is a case of "you're doing it wrong". Thank you.

Only because of your persistence in explaining the pen mechanic to everybody on this page again and again I found out about it and now I have a perfect drop spot right outside of my base. I didn't download the mod but thanks anyways <3

@VitaKaninen - it might be an annoying mechanic, but the easy fix is to just put a small "non" pen of 4x4 or 5x5 surrounded by fence inside of your current pen. As long as there is an orbital trade beacon near that spot, items will always drop into it. {plus *NO* pen markers}

Not dropping items inside pens is a vanilla mechanic, and I always try to stay in line with vanilla when possible. Taking creative liberties that detract away from core game mechanics when it's not necessary isn't something I like doing. As for the toggle, probably not. I'm not opposed to the idea but I just don't have the time, sorry. It would require making a mod settings page and stuff, so at least a few hours w/ testing.

I guess I don't understand the choice to not drop items inside pens. Me entire base is surrounded by pens except for my kill box which is a lake. This means my only choice for item drops is to have them fall in the lake, which makes no sense.

Any possibility to have a menu option to allow items to drop in pens?

Fine, I'll put it in big fat bold letters. Btw, this is a vanilla mechanic guys. I'm not doing this of my own accord, I'm sticking to vanilla design. If you don't like it, be mad at Ludeon for designing it this way, but I prefer to stick as close to vanilla as possible.

Thank's Kissu, my base is encircled by a wall so I keep all the animals free range on the inside and all the trade stuff was landing outside... I was wondering why it's not working as intended so came here to check the page or look for an anternative.

Would it be possible to add a line to the description explaining that the drop spot doesn't work if it's in a pen? Or even better, maybe if you try to place one in a pen it could display some sort of "inactive" status or message explaining the issue? I love this mod, but recently I've started using pens to auto cut trees around my base, and it took me a good bit of trial and error before finally reading through the comments here to figure out why my stuff was being dropped halfway across the map.

I have a small request. I don't know if it's doable, but would there be any way to add to this mod a way to configure one of the drop spots to be just for toxic waste packs? The game does seem to differentiate between twp and rewards, as the two sets of pods for those quests drop away from each other. I'd like to be able to have twp drops land near the site I have set up for them without other pods going there, and I don't really want the twp pods dropping near my regular storage.

Experiencing an issue causing all of my quest rewards to still drop at the map edge despite having this mod. Any thoughts? (I have no error codes.)
