@Nils - To the best of my knowledge, there's going to be a new game announcement from the developers very soon. I'm not really inclined to re-visit my mods at this stage of the game. I'm sure you understand.

I see. Would you consider releasing a seperate version of this mod? "US Wayside Signal Replacements"? Would be such a nice mod too have in my US collection. I personally like too be limited in this game, some things are only manufactured between certain years, etc.
Also the vanilla signal and semafor look very european so hiding them on US map would be nice.
Anyway, thank you, for many nice mods!

@Nils - I've learned over the years it's not a good idea to limit the player's option. Making the vanilla signal unavailable would be very upsetting for some people.
Nils 19 May @ 2:03am
Is it possible to make these replace the vanilla signals? I mean in the buy menu, only one of these available depending on year, and vanilla hidden?

i didn't have any compatibility issues, works like a charm, frkin awesome stuff! however, the only signals i get with this mod are the US semaphore and the US searchlight signal. There seems to be a third one pictured here, which is more akin to what I see on railroads around my home. I wonder if its a bug or an oversight - i really would like to have that third variant as its more in line with what we see on contemporary American rail.

Even still, great mod, a must have for anyone wanting to Americanize the game

This mod will lose all textures.

@Spacemanspiff1998 - Try scrolling out and bulldozing the signal icon.
Spacemanspiff1998 8 Apr, 2022 @ 3:09pm
i found that the 2010 signal has a really small hitbox and it can be difficult to bulldoze it

An excellent Signal it looks and works just great.

I would say that the waypoint function would be useful for window dressing to have always red signals facing the opposite direction on a one way track. At least that is how I’d use them.

@ DanielDerStolle - While those are valid points, there will be many people who will be upset if the vanilla signals aren't available anymore. That's the can of worms I was referring to earlier. Why would they be upset? I have no idea, but it's usually best not to go tinkering with the base game too much. I have had to learn that the hard way in the past. If a person likes to download hundreds of mods, having many to sort through in the menu is the nature of the beast, I'm afraid.
What many people do (who are worried about losing mods forever) is make back-up copies of the mods they like and store them on their hard drive.
StolleJay | Daniel 19 Aug, 2021 @ 3:01am
You got me completely wrong.
For me it's about the organization so as not to have hundreds of signals in the menu...

Also if you think into future... What is if the workshop does not exists anymore or you mods will be deleted? What is with all the savegames? If you replace the vanilla signals and your mod as ex. is not available anymore then everyone can continue play the savegame because the vanilla signals are there again. Now every savegame will be "destroyed" and not playable anymore because this "new" assets are not there anymore then!
modelcitizen  [author] 18 Aug, 2021 @ 5:15pm
@ DanielDerStolle - I don't have any plans to make these signals replace the originals. Sorry, but that would be opening up a can or worms. About waypoints. If I'm not mistaken, when setting up your route, any existing signals on your line can be chosen as waypoints already. I think that's a feature that's been in the game for a long time.
StolleJay | Daniel 18 Aug, 2021 @ 11:55am
Hey @modelcitizen It is possible that you can make a US signals pack (or use this in a separate mod) that replaces the original signals and the waypoint? As waypoint my idea is you use the searchlight as waypoint like the Natural Environment Professional 2 (NEP²) did. This would be really really cool :)
Spacemanspiff1998 30 Apr, 2021 @ 12:56pm
The new lights are really neat! Good work
modelcitizen  [author] 28 Apr, 2021 @ 8:38pm
@ wsh.social - The semaphore signal now has lights.
modelcitizen  [author] 26 Apr, 2021 @ 3:50pm
@ A Guy Called Pi - Help yourself. : )
A Guy Called Pi 26 Apr, 2021 @ 1:12pm
Hi, mind if I reskin the semaphore? I'd like to see these in their traditional Dutch variant
wsh.social 17 Apr, 2021 @ 5:23am
I wish the 1850 signal was illuminated.
Stormlover_51 9 Oct, 2020 @ 4:24pm
So much better than the hideous vanilla signals. 10/10, thank you!

And yes the semaphores are tall but guess what, that's exactly how they are (were) in the real world.
Max Cherry 30 Sep, 2020 @ 12:34pm
@modelcitizen gantries for the searchlight style have already been made by NS_37. Since the gantries themselves are the same it might ease your work to ask if you can use his models to do the same thing for the Semaphore and Safetran (Darth Vader) style signals. I hope this helps.
DomDiaemus 28 Aug, 2020 @ 9:10am
They seem too tall if compared to buildings/platform cover, any chance of lowering them a bit? Cheers
modelcitizen  [author] 19 Jun, 2020 @ 9:34pm
@ Tris - No immediate plans for gantry signals, but something I'll probably try later on if someone hasn't already made them. :)
Tris 19 Jun, 2020 @ 7:40pm
I use these all the time in my US scenarios, would you be able to make some gantry signals? There are some PRR ones, I would just love some modern ones :)
dodsonjd 9 May, 2020 @ 10:04am
Thanks I figured the mystery.
modelcitizen  [author] 3 May, 2020 @ 11:27am
@ dodsonjd - Hey. These are fully functional signals. They're in the track/ signal menu.
dodsonjd 3 May, 2020 @ 10:53am
Perfect! Just what I need! I do have a question, to spawn the Darth Vader Signal do I go into the tracks menu and click the signal icon. Or is the Darth Vader signal located in the assets menu?
Jackson K. Reed 10 Feb, 2020 @ 4:33pm
No problem.
modelcitizen  [author] 10 Feb, 2020 @ 3:59am
@ memezfordayz - Working on it now. It's just gonna take a while. Thanks.
Jackson K. Reed 9 Feb, 2020 @ 7:17pm
@modelcitizen Are you planning on exporting your Railroad Crossing mod into TpF2 soon?
Six 3 Feb, 2020 @ 3:41pm
Great job I just downloaded them.
Avern 1 Feb, 2020 @ 1:48pm
great to see some american signals to use in america
Stormlover_51 27 Jan, 2020 @ 1:08am
Thank goodness, I can't believe the developers continued with those hideous vanilla track signals. Glad to see your stuff in the new game, thank you.
geoffmore1 25 Jan, 2020 @ 9:03pm
Cant wait to see your crossings!
NA4U 20 Jan, 2020 @ 11:05pm
That's something I would like to see in the game. We need a signal bridge for the PRR signals too
modelcitizen  [author] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 5:41pm
@ godofradio - I have no immediate plans to add lights to the semaphore, but it is something I may try in the future.

@SkullKrixzz - Gantry signals were in mind when I decided to release these as a pack. They could always be added in the future, although it's not something I have the resolve to tackle now. Thanks.
SkullKrixzz 20 Jan, 2020 @ 5:21pm
these look lovely however, asking out of curiosity, are gantry signals possible in TpF2?
godofradio 20 Jan, 2020 @ 5:13pm
@modelcitizen
These are wonderful! Thank you SO much for creating them! Will the semaphore lights work in later versions? If not, no big deal, I was just curious. Thanks again for your work!
modelcitizen  [author] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 4:59pm
@ robw436 - Glad to hear it. Take care.
robw436 20 Jan, 2020 @ 4:56pm
ok then they are working fine then :)
modelcitizen  [author] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 4:51pm
@ robw426 - The semaphore. No, there are no lights on this signal.
modelcitizen  [author] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 4:37pm
@ robw436 - I'd start a test map with only this mod enabled. Just a small flat map with a short section of track. That's how I tested. Let me know if they work and we'll go from there.
modelcitizen  [author] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 4:07pm
@ rob2436 - Off the top of my head, I can't think of a reason. Which signal are we talking about?
CocoJacoby 20 Jan, 2020 @ 10:14am
Very niiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!!
stilo01 20 Jan, 2020 @ 7:29am
Great, thanks so much modelcitizen!
themeatballhero 19 Jan, 2020 @ 5:18pm
