Peter34 9. aug. 2023 kl. 22:08
This was last updated in 2020, and there was a lot of changes to Leaders a few monhs ago in the free v3.8 update.

I'm pretty sure it won't work.
Laniakea 9. aug. 2023 kl. 21:58
does anyone know if this mod still works?
Straiada 9. mar. 2023 kl. 19:22
Great idea, sadly and for some reason it makes it so when I hire a leader, honoured dead leaders of the same category immediately "return" which could be a bug due to my modlist but at least I write it here to let it be known that for whatever reasons it can happen.

I also suggest a simplified version or option of the mod, what for? The wall of text when honouring leaders is, in my opinion, visually clunky and is harsh on the roleplay side of things. It would be incredible to create memorials with the name, the years of service (without an explanation of them) and the portray, nothing else. If that would be too much hassle I'd understand.

I tried this out with 3.6 but had to unsub because every time a leader dies im forced to spend a whopping 75 influence since I have no choice other than to honor them when the window pops up.

Armaman here, author of Honor Leaders ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1978382517 ), been on modding hiatus due to covid, surgery, personal life, and ffxiv. It is awesome that my mod was popular enough to inspire an update. Especially as with this mod there are a mind numbing amount of variables to track, and localizations to translate! I give FirePrince permission to continue his branch of Honor Leaders (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1978382517&searchtext=honor+leaders ), as long as you comply with the Stellaris and Steam modding TOS, and do not make any money off it. I reserve the right to continue Honor Leaders off the main trunk.

Here is the beta 3.3 update ! I fixed anything I found (so my tools showed now 0). Converted some events to the new leader type events (which seemingly improved something) and opt some other with new code syntax.
Zr. Zubat 5. feb. 2022 kl. 9:43
Amazing :D thanks for your work, keep on!
FirePrince 5. feb. 2022 kl. 7:32
OK I've now a 3.3 version on testing (fixed over 300 issues)
Zr. Zubat 5. feb. 2022 kl. 6:24
i don't know how to code but i love this mod :(
FirePrince 5. feb. 2022 kl. 2:23
If someone is interested to continue this mod, I've found a lot of stuff to update here (as I'm using automated tools for this).

Presently, hovering the mouse over "view leaders" causes an immediate crash-to-desktop.

Hovering over the "View living leaders" edict results in a crash for my crew
Avallex 23. sep. 2021 kl. 11:13
Seems to crash on hovering over the edict.
Teoctlamazqui 20. sep. 2021 kl. 12:25
Used to work with full conversion mods such as stark trek new civilisations now it crashes when played with that one.Hope this mod gets an update.very nice addition
Alphaslayer 19. sep. 2021 kl. 9:18
For me the mod works but you can't choose to let them be forgotten, you have to honor every leader who dies.
Megumin 18. sep. 2021 kl. 19:39
The dialog box seems to be broken, some of the buttons disappeared after 3.1 patch. Might need an update.

Admiral gets Arrested Development at lvl 2? Let's put him in command of the ISS Valhalla, a naked corvette...

For a Warrior Culture, it's such a strangely logical and fitting way of "retiring" admirals.

I wonder how would the Scientists who exposed the Worm's love to us would be rewarded...

Any chance for a "light" version of this? I am looking for a mod that *only* shows the stats of the leader that just died following the death message, maybe his portrait, age, and his traits. Nothing else. Have been looking literally everywhere and could not find such a mod. If it was that simple and only cosmetic (like e.g. an enhanced tooltip on mouseover of the death message) it might even be ironman compatible? Any help / pointers perhaps? Thanks

as the others have stated, the rewards are a bit OP :)

Uploaded a mod that merges this with Ascension - New Victory Condition and adapted it to ST:NH

2.8 is out, so will be updating soon for the version number. I may also make a future update with some improvements based on new modding features in the patch notes, as well as some around the Memorialist civic. I will also have a mod out soon that combines this with Ascension - New Victory Condition specifically for Star Trek : New Horizons.
Armaman  [ophavsmand] 15. sep. 2020 kl. 16:54
There should be an edict to set options, one of which is to disable bonuses. I may go back and rebalance this once a new patch comes out, but I am currently working on the ST:NH mod team creating new content and features.
Diatomic Element 15. sep. 2020 kl. 16:47
Is there any way to reduce the death bonus, or have it trigger for fewer leaders? Honestly, it is too OP in the current state, but I really like how this mod works.
Amanfreed 28. juli 2020 kl. 18:09
The mod could use a bit of cleaning up on the UI side of things. You might also consider having custom settings such as letting you choose to not receive the option to honor leaders who don't have notable accomplishments or are below a certain level. Just my thoughts after using this mod for a bit.
Tickle 14. juni 2020 kl. 13:16
This appears to cause an endless dialogue box loop every single day that passes in game. Currently no workaround for me besides disabling it.
tuk0z 23. maj 2020 kl. 15:22
Played the last 250 years of my last game with this mod. It really adds a sensible & human touch to vanilla Stellaris. Being able to honor that lad who crushed the Scourge (oooh, painfull yeah) or that scientist dude who tirelessly worked dozens years to make you what you are, I find it super cool.
Now I may have overlooked something but:
- if Memorials could be named after the dude or lad, that would add a fair bit over being generic buildings.
- Also I find the nation bonus this mod gives a bit on the OP side to be franck ;)
Armaman  [ophavsmand] 20. maj 2020 kl. 15:20
Updated for 2.7.*, included some tracking event optimizations and minor bugfixes.
Armaman  [ophavsmand] 8. maj 2020 kl. 19:20
The 2.7 patchnotes have been released, and they have a lot of new features for modding that may require a rewrite of some elements of Honor Leaders. There will be an update some time after the patch is released, but may take longer than expected.
Armaman  [ophavsmand] 26. apr. 2020 kl. 9:35
@Grave Thanks for the idea! I'll see if I can integrate that in the create/save code.
Grave 26. apr. 2020 kl. 4:33
Not sure if it can also apply in this situation, but I was able to come up with a way to keep human portraits the same (skin tone) when changing portraits in the Visible Cyborgs mod. That mod had a similar problem with randomly changing your portrait to something new because the Stellaris engine can't "connect" two different skin tones together when swapping portraits, if that makes sense.

The way I did it was to assign a leader_flag on leader creation, so when a human race becomes cybernetic and the game swaps portraits, it looks for that flag (via trigger) and assigns the correct portrait (skin color) to that pop/leader, etc. The end result was the leader's racial appearance stayed consistent, but had all the cybernetic appearances that the mod delivers on. If that makes sense. There's more to it than that, but that's the basic gist.

Maybe something like that can help?
Armaman  [ophavsmand] 25. apr. 2020 kl. 15:24
@Grave, Its related to change_leader_portrait = event_target:honor_leader in the save code. The process to save a dead leader currently involves creating an interim one, whose portrait is random, and there is no way to reliably pick a specific portrait without iterating through all possible ones. If there is a better way of doing it, I'm all ears.
Grave 25. apr. 2020 kl. 10:17
@Armaman,

I'm running into a peculiar problem, was hoping you could help. When one of my leaders die, and the stats screen pops up, their portrait (hair, skin color, etc) is completely randomized and they look nothing like the did during the game. I'm running a few portrait mods, but they don't seem to be conflicting with your mod.

I know it's hard to diagnose with limited information, but could you maybe point me in the right direction for me to look to see why this is happening?
Armaman  [ophavsmand] 23. apr. 2020 kl. 13:59
Added Russian translation by "Just a Dominik". I also added an option to remove all memorials and modifiers in the options edict. If you accidentally memorialize a corrupt, substance abuser, arrested development leader, you can remove the memorials and modifiers, remove the offending leader in your saved leader list, and rebuild. Or if you want to roleplay a new administration tearing down the memorials of the old regime, you can do that too! Also fixed some minor bugs and performance optimizations.
