And so begins my reliquiae journey. Blind play https://youtu.be/Fhjqrub5Ovw

That was quick and mostly easy. The word that comes to mind about these tests is smooth.
I didn't know those stairs could do that. Thanks for making.
A new fave. :p2cube:
Dopetob 29 Aug, 2024 @ 10:01pm
Nice and easy and showed me what's to come
Jess 25 Apr, 2024 @ 8:20pm
@firetailed you can't read, can you?
FireTailed 21 Apr, 2024 @ 8:03am
This was too easy! How many of these are there?
sillymel 31 Mar, 2024 @ 9:39am
I've reported the BEE2 bug here: https://github.com/BEEmod/BEE2-items/issues/4415
For now, a workaround would be to add a button to respawn the cube on the side of the goo where you enter the chamber, but I don't know if that would confuse the puzzle .
Mikeastro  [author] 30 Mar, 2024 @ 11:25am
@sillymel Thanks a lot for playing through some of the entrees in this series! You are quite good at catching trapping situations; I sometimes leave those in that I consider to be hard to do by accident, but that indeed does not mean it is always impossible. I'll keep these things in mind :]
sillymel 30 Mar, 2024 @ 6:53am
I just confirmed that the second trapping possibility I listed is a bug with BEE2's portalable stairs, so there's probably not much you can do about it right now. I'll make sure it's been reported on BEE2's issue tracker.
sillymel 30 Mar, 2024 @ 6:20am
Nice map for teaching cube sacrifices ! However, it's possible to trap yourself in the second chamber in two ways:

First, you can throw the cube up onto the exit platform: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/sillymel/screenshot/2485497501508569990/

Second, when you place a portal on the portalable stairs, it breaks their collision, allowing you to drop the cube through along the edges of the portal, trapping you.

The second way is especially important, as it's quite possible to do by accident (as I did while getting a screenshot of the first way of trapping yourself). Let me know if you have trouble replicating it, so I can post a demo file.

ghost cubes? is this how this is called?
_L 6 Feb, 2024 @ 7:43am
I'm surprised from the first second, shock! I was thinking about good design in my maps, but here is a really great design
zeo1337 22 Jan, 2024 @ 2:21pm
This belongs in the actual game.
Outlander 14 Jan, 2024 @ 3:11pm
Awesome! Thanks!
glenmcd[AUS] 11 Dec, 2023 @ 12:31am
Excellent chamber with nice novelty value and a puzzle that got me thinking
Andy T 4 Jul, 2022 @ 10:08pm
I revisit again the fling is kinda ...just on the edge, which meams the Engine sometimes undershot the desired effect. Otherwise easy peasy run.
doctor of sex and physics 2 Jul, 2022 @ 10:19am
Very neat and fun test :3
Jenni "Villain Vibes" Prime 4 Apr, 2022 @ 12:57pm
Love the puzzle, especially love the music (I don't remember if this is a track in Portal tho)
Mikeastro  [author] 12 Mar, 2022 @ 3:16am
@puppy0cam Impressive!
puppy0cam 11 Mar, 2022 @ 8:29pm
Got softlocked inside the second puzzle by throwing the cube in the air and going in the portal before it hit the button.
wwellesfamily3 11 Jan, 2022 @ 1:57pm
Love the solutions! I like how it required me to fizzle cubes!
positive_epsilon 28 Dec, 2020 @ 1:42am
Neat little niche mechanic
Muzozavr 15 Oct, 2020 @ 2:04pm
Easy enough, good "concept intro".
DeathWish808 3 Sep, 2020 @ 5:53pm
And, finally, the last one I played. Weird how they got easier as I played them. LOL

For the first and introductory series of test`s this was very immpressive, good work my respect.
IridiumWave 25 Mar, 2020 @ 3:41pm
Amazing work. Nice concepts
BehindPortal 18 Mar, 2020 @ 11:22pm

I have found this series today! This certainly is going to make the "International Day of Mathematics" for me ;) Happy IDM Mike! :steamhappy:
Mikeastro  [author] 25 Feb, 2020 @ 9:14am
@Shinval Thank you :D Glad you liked it.
Shinval 25 Feb, 2020 @ 6:38am
I really enjoyed that! Thanks for creating.
wildgoosespeeder 21 Feb, 2020 @ 10:56am
Not the best chamber, but this one has signs of actual playtesting and tweaking.
Mikeastro  [author] 17 Feb, 2020 @ 2:45pm
@jp Thank you :D So far the response has been quite positive
jp 17 Feb, 2020 @ 2:34pm
Perfect didactic start for the series.
The whole thing is gonna be a hit! :steamhappy:
Psychological Atom 11 Feb, 2020 @ 9:04pm
Nice! Really like the music tho.
Mikeastro  [author] 5 Feb, 2020 @ 12:33am
@[ssc] Fishy Thank you :D The difficulty will increase as the series progresses
[ssc] Fishy 4 Feb, 2020 @ 11:33pm
Played the #1 first before finding #0 here. #1 is harder. Looking forward to the rest.
Mikeastro  [author] 1 Feb, 2020 @ 1:13pm
@PortalMan99 Thank you :D Next part is out now!
PortalMan99 1 Feb, 2020 @ 12:25pm
nice one
Mikeastro  [author] 31 Jan, 2020 @ 4:51pm
@The Pirate Bae Thanks for playing! Don't worry, future instalments will make use of more dimensions ;) If you enjoy being challenged, please feel free to browse my workshop, for my puzzles generally tend to be a little more involved than this one
Pirate Bae 31 Jan, 2020 @ 4:05pm
A bit one dimensional with the mechanic involved but that's just me being nitpicky, I enjoyed these and look forward to whats to come!
louie088 31 Jan, 2020 @ 1:04pm
@mikeastro Oh sry but thx. i gave up :steamsalty:
Mikeastro  [author] 31 Jan, 2020 @ 7:34am
@Benzolamps Thanks :D
@quatrus I did not create nor invent portalable stairs - I just thought I could use them in two different ways to minimise the connections in these introductory puzzles. Glad you liked them :]
quatrus 31 Jan, 2020 @ 7:01am
Ah thats where the stair portal surface comes from. nice.
Benzolamps 31 Jan, 2020 @ 6:55am
Easy and interesting. Thanks for creating.
Mikeastro  [author] 31 Jan, 2020 @ 4:22am
@bullfrog Thank you :] It would indeed have been a missed opportunity to not release these puzzles, even after giving up on the mod. Next part coming tomorrow!
bullfrog 31 Jan, 2020 @ 12:17am
I'm so sorry that you all "decided to abandon the project", but I'm pleased that at least some of the tremendous effort that must have gone to it will see the light of day. The map itself I enjoyed for what it is i.e. “teaching a concept” and I look forward to series.
Mikeastro  [author] 30 Jan, 2020 @ 3:21pm
@louie088 That's unfortunate to hear. Sadly, this is not a hammer map, nor have I ever published one, so I'm afraid I will not be of much help here. Good luck though
louie088 30 Jan, 2020 @ 3:13pm
I cant figure out how to publish hammer maps...is there still a way? i just made my first one and i don't have portal 2 bin or anything :[ Can you tell me if there is
Mikeastro  [author] 30 Jan, 2020 @ 11:07am
@lfairban Yep, that was the goal of this map :D
