Replicating the issue in-game, then sending me your starbound.log file via pastebin link or something would be the best way to troubleshoot it, but no promises.
A close approximation of the Dante swords would be the sp-breakthroughblade if you could try spawning one of those and trying it, that could help as well.
I'm assuming it's spawning the weapon and holding it out directly in front of the player? Or is it breaking at some point during the attack?
If your item doesn't have something listed like that, you may need to further upgrade it along its path before the special moves unlock in a later iteration of the weapon, or no unique inputs are available for that weapon category yet (Oni weapons don't have unique inputs, for example)

According to their mod description, they shouldn't be affecting my weapons at all, since they only target a select few broadswords to change the animation files for.
Unless the mod is affecting EVERY broadsword, even modded ones and reverting certain ones back to the default pose, in which case, there's not much I can do about that.
yeah, Nimbus Flight was one of my earliest additions, before the mod expanded into what it is now. As I moved away from having FU items in my recipes, it ended up getting more and more simple to craft. Lots of players appreciate the free mobility it offers, so I haven't bothered with nerfing it. I will eventually tweak the recipe to make it harder to craft though.
glad you're having fun. I've got plans around that angle yes. Holiday season has me a bit busier than usual, and I've got a few other implementations before pressing forward with new techs.
I originally planned to have the katanas be 1-handed with the possibility of wielding other weapons alongside it, but the project evolved beyond that and most of my items are 2-handed now. The lack of abilities on the katana weapons is a hold-over from the start of the project and will be fixed. I'll probably add Judgement Cut as a charged attack to a few of them.
